Strength:
I had this unit back in 2002 in my first car with 2 10" Infinity subs, and kicker components in the front and kicker coaxial speakers in the rear. I loved this stereo, and at that time I used my car A LOT and never had a problem with it. I didn't even need an amp for the kicker speakers in the doors and the back and with an 800 watt Pioneer amp, and a 1 fared cap, and my car sounded great. I liked this because I was able to play cd's and my old cassette tapes. I did my research and was looking for this exact model and found it at the swap shop down here in Fort Lauderdale and got an excellent deal on it too. I miss the old days. Price Paid: N/A

Jensen CM7015K cd / cassette receiver
Strength:
#1 - The CM7015K is powerful. In fact, it is ONE of only TWO car receivers (the only 1.5 DIN) I could find in a MASSIVE online & retail search mission that is capable of kicking out more than 50Wx4. My trusty CM7015K is capable of kicking out a max 60Wx4. #2 - It looks cool. At Night the CM7015K lights up like a Christmas tree. It has a neat display that pulsates different colors eq-style to coincide with output. Blues, oranges, yellows, reds - they're all there. #3 - Functionality. I like the big rotary volume dial and the massive amount of radio pre-sets (7x2!). At the touch of a button the faceplate opens to reveal the cd & casette openings, which have cool red guiding lights for nighttime use.
Weakness:
While the CM7015K packs power & looks, it's starting to look it's age. In fact, there is no 1.5 DIN model available that can do what some of the new single DIN models can do - scrolling hi pix digital images, small working TV screens, displays that can load & display digital pics YOU take, etc.. Someone is missing out here. When one of these receiver manufacturers produce a new hi-tech 1.5 DIN model, Chrysler & GM owners will beat a path to their doors because, Duuuhhh, the 1.5 DIN display would allow for BIGGER hi pix scrolling images, digital pics you take, BIGGER working TV screens . . . Jensen's CM7015K cd/cassette receiver is one of surprisingly few 1.5 DIN model receivers available made to fit perfectly into your GM / Chrysler oversized opening. Given the enormous amount of GM AND Chrysler vehicles on the road it never ceases to amaze me how few 1.5 DIN choices you'll have. Sure . . . you can buy a single DIN and use an adapter kit to fit the bigger opening, but in my opinion and experience it will look neat & professional, but it won't necessarily look . . . right. So, I chose the CM7015K for my 2000 Chrysler Sebring going the made-to-fit 1.5 DIN route. To save extra $$ I purchased a unit that was sold 'refurbished' from discountsjungle.com, and save $ I did. I have seen this particular model sell for as much as $299 new & sealed. Strange how it's not hard to find new & sealed considering it's been a few years since Jensen has made this model. I did pay the price for going refurb: my unit operates perfectly, but will not power off. In other words, the only time the unit is off is when the car is off. I'm not thrilled about this, but I will say though that I am warranty protected and could send it back. In my own mind I weighed all the trouble in taking it out, sending it, waiting, putting the factory back in, vs. the fact that I can just turn the volume down to zero and it's like powering it off - throw in all the $$ I saved to begin with . . . and came to the conclusion I'd just live with it. But . . . this is not a knock on the model, just something to think about before going refurb. Similar Products Used: My new (used) Chrysler 2000 Sebring is the, I don't know, 75th GM or Chrysler car I've driven, but the Jensen CM7015K is the first 1.5 DIN receiver I've ever used. It will do me fine until some smart receiver manfacturer takes the 1.5 DIN receiver beyond 1997. |

QUALITY SUCKS NEVER WORKED!!! The unit did not work right out of the box. A short in the faceplate I think, Sent it back to Jensen for replacement, took over two dozen phone calls and a complaint to my Attorney General''s Office of Comsumer Protection to get it replaced. It remains to be seen if the replacenment works or not. If I could get rid of it and get my money back I would in a heartbeat. NEVER BUY ANYTHING JENSEN EVER!!!
