This CD player is awesome, I just bought it yesterday and I put around 200 miles on my car bumpin around town. The sound quality is great and the all the option are well worth the money. I would recommend this head unit to anyone...As long as you wanna spend the $530 dollars to get it.
Weakness:
Not a dam thing I would recommend this CD player to anyone. The price was a little steep but to the competition it is worth the extra $150 over what I wanted to get. Similar Products Used: Sony....sucks |

Strength:
None
Weakness:
None First the visual display, second the sound of music. Its wonderful to both senses.A beautiful addition to my Accord interior. My home system doesn,t even play a CD like the 5443,when a Cd is inserted the clarity, every instrument heard, the cripness only makes you love music more. Pricey but lovely. Design, flip down face, CD text, sub control
Weakness:
Price paid $545.00 I would highly recommend this to others looking for a excellent in dash CD player. As I said before price is steep $545.00 after I had shopped around. Try to find a good price, BUT BY ALL MEANS PICK ONE OF THESE UP! I would certainly buy another of Eclipse's CD players but it better be a while before I have to by another one. Strength:
Amazing sound quality, awesome freq.separation, audiophile componetry
Weakness:
13 watts RMS(BUT it doesn't need any more power) This is the best CD player on the market for under $500. Eclipse has shown what it takes to build a winner and the rest of the companies are just trying to catch up now. I bought this unit about a month ago and haven't had one compliant. THe power is on the weaker side but if you plan to hook up and amp you won't have a problem anyway. As for playback and sound quality, I suggest listening to every other CD player in you're budget then listening to this one.You will then realize that money can't buy a better sounding in dash CD player. It makes it easy to build an awesome upgraded factory system or to expand to a full force competition system. 3 pre-outs 5 volts each puts forth awesome clarity. If you can afford the $500 go for it. 1999 Eclipse 5443
Strength:
The signal processing in this unit is amazing. With dual 1 bit DAC's, you cant go wrong. Three RCA outs (with 1 non-fading for sub) will provide you with room to expand your system. Not to mention the NOB rotary control, and the display.
Weakness:
There is no weaknesses with this product. I see people complaining about low power produced from the unit itself. Eclipse designed this unit to be used with an external amplifier, due to its low-impedance (330-ohm) high voltage (2.7volt RMS). The amplifier, (which is an integrated circuit) is really not meant to be used in my opinion. Look into an Eclipse 3640 40x4 RMS external amp. These two products when used together will produce excellent full range sound. Similar Products Used: Clarion deck. Clarion is not even in the ballpark of the sound quality and look of eclipse. |

Strength:
Stylish, Built Like a Tank, CD TEXT, Sub Control
Weakness:
low RMS If you want a quality product, look no further. This Deck is the best on the market for the money. Clarion, Alpine, Pioneer, JVC, Sony, none of these companies make a deck to rival it. If you want a better deck then this, be prepared to pay ALOT more, and it will be in the Eclipse line. Similar Products Used: Clarion, this blows it away |

Strength:
Great Aesthetics (visuals, built-in spectrum analyzer, lightshow, color scheme), Upgradeable (E-Com), Anti-Theft Feature (ESN), Volume "NOB", Tilting Face Feature
Weakness:
Doesn't read scratched discs very well. Overall best CD-Reciever available. Seems like Eclipse did some R&D into what customers wanted and incorporated them into this this line of head units. An interesting point is the anti-theft feature which uses a programmable Key-CD to reactivate the unit if it is ever discharged from the battery. Love this unit. Strength:
sound quality; ability to upgrade; features
Weakness:
13 Watts RMS; some 40W decks have higher RMS numbers This is simply the best sounding car cd/receiver on the market. When paired with component A/D/S speakers (even without seperate amp)the sound quality approaches that of a high quality home system. Comparably priced Alpine units are not even close. If you want the best, buy this unit. |

Strength:
sound quality, features and upgrade options
Weakness:
only 13 watts RMS internal power Excellent Sound. This unit's sound quality approaches that of many good quality home systems when paired with a/d/s component speakers. A/B comparison with comparably priced alpine units show that this unit's sound is far superior. I recommend it without reservation. |
