Strength:

Superior Sound Quality, Clear and Bright Display.

Weakness:

Tosses Durability to the wind, Skips over just about anything, stops playing after about 20 minutes, Built in Amp has problems.

This CD player is very typical of a Great example of Aiwa electronics. The Sound really is great - WHEN it works. With Aiwa, all I have ever had is problems, and for some reason, I thought this CD reviever would be different - I was wrong. While it may sound great, it tosses durability to the wind, and can't hold it's own at all. If you even run over a sewer that is about 1/2 inch deep going 20 MPH, it skips. I mean, this reciever has NO durabilty whatsoever, and cannot withstand ANYTHING out of the ordinay. I even live in OHIO, and there are not many bumps along the way here, but it still didn't work! Oh, and another problem was that the Cd would play for abotu 20 minutes or so, and then it would get so hot that the lens of the CD player would sense that there is no CD, and you would have to wait fro abotu 3 hours before you could play CD's again. As for the reciever, well, the radio works great, but all of the problems come when you try to listen to the CD player. Also, it boasts that it can handle 4x40 watts, and when used, it was cutting out at about 30 watts, not 40. After getting rid of it, I got a Sony Mobile ES CDX-CA660, and I would NEVER go back. You may pay a little more for a Sony, but you will NOT regret it. In conclusion, I guess that all I could possibly say about this CD player is that it is just another QUILITY Aiwa product. A word to the wise.......At all costs, stay out of Aiwa!
