Strength:

Plays MP3''s (Need I say more?) Great sound

Weakness:

Remote control is very picky. You have to mount the remote control around 3 - 4 o''clock on your steering wheel in order for it to work. You need to use HIGH QUALITY CDRs to prevent the skipping problem. Don''t use those $10 for a spindle of 50. But Fuji or Maxell, they may cost more but they are worth it. Always keep your MP3 CDs in a case, coz the smallest scratch can cause the unit to skip.

Some of you may have had bad units, and some may just be talking B/S. I don''t have any problems with it. It works great. It sounds better than my Sony CD head unit. The workmanpship is great, fit and finish a A+. You can''t really beat this unit. If you want a major name brand like Sony or Kenwood, prepare to spend atleast $350.

Was considering a Sony head unit, but it costs nearly twice as much. Aiwa is Sony''s sister company, so there is "some" quality in it.

Strength:

ID3 tag support, steering wheel remote, folder skip buttons, nice sound, aux in

Weakness:

Random feature should have the option to go to whole disc, but in folders is cool cause u can random artists if u burned it that way. Skipping is not that big of a deal for me, if i floor it around a turn and the whole car almost flips then yes it stops for a few secs, and if u hit a huge bump that might damage your car it skips, this is to be expected and fine with me. It plays everythign i throw at it, sometimes if it gives problems i eject the cd twice and it works fine after that.

Everything you hear about this player i havent experienced and dont believe happens to a lot of em. Mine is awesome, i love this cd player, NO PROBLEMS, WORKS GREAT! If you want a great priced mp3 cd player, get this one!

Weakness:

CD-R Reading Slow search Display doesn''t always work unless you push on it to make connection.

What a piece of garbage! My biggest gripe is that it has constant trouble reading perfectly good CDR discs (both music and MP3) that work everyplace else. It skips constantly! I have nightmares about "error #3" which it constantly give. Swapped it out for a JVC Digifine and everything is great now that it''s gone!

Strength:

Sound, lights, features, remote.

Weakness:

Remote is a bit loose on the wheel, but doesn''t bother me, a great feature.

Overall a great value. Does what it is supposed to do, looks cool, has a lot of power. Everyone I show it to thinks it''s so cool. Great sound. ~200 songs on one disc, can''t beat that!

Strength:

MP3 playback, high volume range, nice display

Weakness:

don't use the steering wheel remote it's a small annoyance

This cd/mp3 player is an excellent cd player and with the mp3 playback mp3 cd's last for a long time. Depending on the size of songs you can get up to 200+ songs on a cd, a very big plus. Also with the auxilary input you can listen to any other music device. I know that I've been very impressed with all of it's functions.

EVERYTHING!

Weakness:

None that bother me. Some people complain about everything!

This player is awesome! I don't care how many bad reviews you read...do not let them sway your purchase. I admit that while I was waiting for my unit to arrive I had second thoughts from reading bad reviews but those were quickly eliminated once I installed the player. All the people that said they took special precautions when installing the player are complete morons! I installed mine in 45 minutes and it doesn't skip at ALL! I live in Wisconsin and with the cold weather the roads get shoved up and it's quite a ride...but no skipping. I seriously love this player. For all the complaints about fast forwarding and the random function and the fact that it doesn't start in the middle of the song when you turn your car back on I feel that you people really need to find something happy in your life if it's that negative! HELLO! It's an mp3 player for your car that sounds awesome...what else do you want...it to drive for you too?

Strength:

Plays MP3´s

Weakness:

Skips a lot, very noisy, interface sucks, ugly design, does not like some brands of cdr media

After this unit came out in July last year, I wanted to get one, however I read reviews on the net that said that this player was not quite ready for primetime. I heard that by now Aiwa had fixed some of the problems, so I went ahead and got one. Biggest mistake I ever made. My first unit was extremely noisy and skipped at the slightest hint of a bump, even after I took extreme precautions when installing it. AM and FM sensitivity was worse than the pathetic OEM cd player. And there was motor noise from the internal circuits everytime the lens moved or the disc spun. It didn´t like many of my MP3 cdr´s, which my Expanium portable plays perfectly. I exchanged it for another unit, which was just a little bit better handling skips. By then, I was so fed up I ended up exchanging it for a Kenwood.

Strength:

Holds my mp3s. Im happy there

Weakness:

Im on my THIRD UNIT! Yes, number 3. They keep blowin up. I only had it for 6 days and it blew, the amplifier inside smoked up. The 2nd one lasted about 26 days, unsure of that cause. Didn't smell smoke there. What is wrong there?

Skips unbelievably way too much. It skips sitting in my driveway.
The remote would be better if it wasn't infrared. I cant keep it pointed directly at it all the time.

Blinking lights are insane.

I thought it would be great. But its just turning out to be a hassle.

Strength:

Steering wheel mounted remote, Awesome appearance, Great sound replication. IT PLAYS ALL MY MP3 CD's and that is worth every penny.

Weakness:

I've not found any downside to the unit. I could think of some features i would have tried to include (continuous MP3 playback in particular) but i am not an electronic engineer.

The day I received the unit I had to work late and it was dark by the time I started installing it. I installed it in my driveway, feeling my way around the dash. It was EASY. I will admit, I didn't install the back strap. I have tried and tried to force the unit to skip and i've not experienced ANY skips at all. I had my car airborn at one point and the music kept playing as if I were sitting in an easy chair in my living room (I strongly suggest installing the strap though). I installed top of the line sony 3-way speakers with the unit and the sound the unit combined with the speakers puts out is nothing short of GREAT sound replication. I've read complaints about the remote but my remote works perfectly. I have no problem finding the song I want or adjusting the volume without ever taking my eyes off the road and the steering wheel mount for it is absolutely perfect for my car (Honda Del-Sol). I've read bad reviews about the faceplate. I read my owners manual and followed the directions for putting the faceplate on the first time I attached it and it snapped right into place. I suggest the people experiencing problems READ THE MANUAL (it is printed in English, Spanish & French)!!!! I've read complaints about the treble & bass adjustments having no affect on the sound being produced. My treble and bass adjustments adjust the sound as well as any other stereo without a built in equalizer. This is the BEST purchase I've made since buying my car. The value is unmeasurable. The ability for me to play 10 - 15 albums on 1 CD in my car is better than a CD changer for much less $$$. It is worth every penny (I'd charge a lot more if I was the manufacturer). I've been making MP3 CD's for years. Before I could only play them on my home system now I can take ALL my music with me everywhere. If you are familiar with MP3s, own a CD burner and a car then this will give you hours of listening enjoyment in your vehicle. Buy one NOW before the napster case sets precedent for record companys to go after companys that manufacture products which facilitate piracy. THIS IS JUST SUCH A PRODUCT.
