Strength:

Entertaining display; dazzling at night. Wide adjustment of bass and treble. Convenience of cass and cd access from driver seat. Solid construction.

Weakness:

Buttons small and poorly laid out.

A lot for the money. No need for an amp unless you want to shatter your ear drums. This stereo with Pioneer speakers delivers strong, clear sound.

Strength:

Easy installation and wonderful sound. Clears the sound of your speakers even if you are using stock. Beautiful display of colors and light at night. Buttons easily laid out for you to use. Wonderful.

Weakness:

Some buttons are too small but just have to get used to the radio.

I would def recommend to anyone that wants to buy a double din cd/cassette combo. This product definitely offers everything even to a tv tuner capabilities. Easy installation and for the price it is definitely a best buy.

Strength:

Beautiful design. Perfect fit. Unit has 9 graphical equilizer display settings. Contains both an in-dash CD player and an in-dash Tape player. Many powerful features.

Weakness:

So many features that the buttons are confusing. Most buttons have several different functions.

I received this unit as a gift...and it was professionally installed in my '91 mitsubishi montero. I had bee salivating over a combo cd/cassette double-din stereo since i got the truck over a year ago. the truck has a double-din console openning...and the old single-din cassette deck looked awful with it's docking kit. the double-din design makes it a perfect fit and it looks beautiful. the sound is great. i love having access to both tape and cd while in the driver's seat.

Strength:

easy installation.

Weakness:

Tiny buttons; website advertised unit as having 4V pre-out output, but actual has 1.8V (which was important in the way I was attempting to install it); the lack of customer service; display is just too bright at night; the silver tone receiver color is ugly; have to go though the adjustment of bal, treble, bass, etc. to get back to volume and other controls. Sloppy layout, confusing controls, and hard to read buttons make this unit a accident waiting to happen.

I paid $349 for this unit though a online dealer and would not recommend this unit to anyone. I attempted to return it to the place where purchased, however, they wanted a 15% restocking fee plus shipping. I sold it, and lost $50 dollars.

JVC unit cassette/ CD bought in 1990; easy controls; great design; a little confusing, but not on the controls that mattered. Used it in 2 different vehicles, then after I sold the last vehicle put it in my home. The home caught on fire, which resulted in the radio getting some smoke damage, cleaned it up and sold it to my brother, he is still using it today. My mistake for selling it.

Strength:

Good unit, plays CDs, tape

Weakness:

Poor FM reception despite so called "magitune" feature. Specs not "true"
Actually puts out about 16 RMS or less - should put put about 22 RMS

This was my first purchase in Car Audio. The reviewer who pointed out that it is not 4v output is correct- I tried to hook up an AMP to it and he is right it is 1.8v or less. The unit gives good sound but for the money I paid - I am sure you could do better. I guess for me the moral of the stroy is to do your homework BEFORE you buy. It is a good unit, but it definitely needs an AMP to perform better.
I have had a few problems with the deck clipping, the controls are a little difficult, the z stuff does not let you customize the sound as well.
