Awesome power for a cheap price! Paid $310 for it brand new!

Kind of unattractive, but oh well!

Paid $310 for it, which is a great price for the amount of power this thing puts out! 300x2 pounds my subs very good! I would recommend it to anyone looking for a half decent, good priced sub amp.

Good: When I received this amplifier, the company that shipped it did a outstanding job at overpacking. It arrived in a box about 3-4 times it’s size and packed full of Styrofoam peanuts. I believe the Postal Service could have beat the hell out of the box and it would have still made it without a scratch. This amplifier arrives with a separate watertight fuseholder with a fuse rated for 60a. Although, by no means, fantastic quality compared to higher end companies accessory lines, it still was constructed very nice and looks great. The 2300f can take up to 4 gauge power/ground wire(I have mine with 8g)and the standard for the remote and speakers. Power wise, this is a outstanding amplifier. I have yet to meet the limits of this amp with my current setup in woofers(4 JL 12w4’s). I cannot tell when distortion meets due to the fact my subs will give out before the amp does. It is running 2 ohm stereo and like most 2ohm stable amps, it will cut out at 1 ohm and play slightly at 2ohm mono. It still played pretty loud at 2 ohm mono and I would probably got away with it leaving it here, but considering it still was more then enough power for my needs at 2 ohm stereo and the company does not endorse using this amp at 2 ohm mono or below, I left it in stereo. The bass boost at lower volumes was useful to a extent. I do not believe you will be able to get the boost up past half way before the sound is seriously degraded at a reasonable listening level. You might not even use it, but its nice to have it there for people determined to get every last db out of their equipment.

Bad: Well, besides the overpacking(and I’m sure that added to my shipping bill, but the amp arrived undamaged and thats the important thing) and the lack of use for the boost, there is really nothing much to complain about. The price of this amp compared to gray market companies lower priced high end amps, you may find this a tough bargain, but considering it is a new model line, the price may come down if you wish to purchase through one of these companies.

Ugly: The same adjusting crossover features as reviewed on the 4050. It was a real pain to adjust the gain(which at first was turned pretty high, but it came down REAL fast).

Recommendation: Although you may find less expensive amplifiers capable of reaching or exceeding the same output of the 2300f through gray market companies, the price difference is not really alot(less then $90 to similar MTX version, the closest I came across for the $$). The amp is fully capable of tremendous output(at normal ohms) and if the price is right, you may have trouble finding better.
