Strength:
Looks great, reliable at high temps, stable to 1 ohm.
Weakness:
lacks power if pushing more than one subwoofer. Amp looks great in trunk. Never had any heat problems. This was my first amp and powered two 10's just fine until I figured out what a good amp sounded like. Was pushing two 10 inch mtx 6000's at 4 ohms mono in a sealed enclosure using 8 gauge wiring. Once I hooked the box up to a proper amp I realized the Sony didn't have enough power to properly push the 10's. This amp will supply plenty of boom to 1 ten or 1 twelve. You will run into a power deficit if you hook up more then one sub. I would recommend making the initial ivestment in an amp with more power if you are running 2 or more subs. If you are like most guys 6 months down the road you will start shopping for something with more kick. Save your time and money and go big right off the top. You won't regret it. I wanted more kick so I sold this amp and added a third 10. Bought an MTX amp rated at 350 rms stereo @ 4ohm. More than twice the power of the Sony. Now my car pounds. Similar Products Used: None |
