Strength:

it looks cool

Weakness:

lack of power

well i had a radioshack 110watt amp, this amp can push harder than that did, but i'd expect that being that first it wasn't a radioshack amp and second it was rated at 900 watts bridged, well lets say i forgot i was going to run it as two channels to my subs, and the subs are rated at 250max, 900 watts should have blown these subs up but it didn't, and it wasn't that much louder bridged than as two channels, okay the subs are klh home speakers with modified boxes they aren't that loud but i know if they actually took 900 watts they would hit hard, why cuz almost anything will hit hard at 900, they hit noticably louder than the optimus but only like if i had double the wattage or so, the radioshack amp is rated at 110X1 @2ohms and 10% thd, thats right 10%, so already i know this amp sucks, let alone the fact that if the amp does 900X1 on a regular basis then you'd need at least a 4 gauge set up, but it only had 8 gauge inputs and it should be fused at least 100 amps, yet the amp itself is fused with 80 amps and i have the power wire fused with a 40 amp fuse just cuz thats what i had laying around, that means it's not even drawing in 40 amps which means the most wattage it could be putting out is more like 500, but who knows, i was dumb enough to buy one of these, and realistically after i get my real subs it'll be loud enough for me, but i think i could have paid the same price gotten an amp that actually tells me what kind of wattage it puts out and came out a little more happy.

Strength:

Color looks apealing, don't let looks deceive you! Worst company representation of the face of the Earth!

Weakness:

Poor bus circuits, poor transistors, poor crossover componentry. Very poor, snotty warranty department. Made in third world country. Also none of the specifications or features are remotely accurate.

I purchased two of these god-forsaken amps BRAND NEW in sealed package. I had heard Profile Amps in a store in Southern Ohio, thus i felt that they might have some strengths. Then reality struck. Upon after one year of operation in my car they overheated (they were placed flat with nothing on top of the heat sinks, in spite of the company's specifications). The thermal protection circuuit never operated and the amps never turned back on. I sent them out to the factory in California (E-mail me for proof & I'll show you copy of the reciepts provided you send postage)& the only way they were going to fix them was conditionally, that is they had to ask how i had them hooked up first before they would honor a warranty. Granted i had each amp hooked up bridged to an individual Kicker Comp 10, causing a 4-ohm load on each of them, BUT THE SPECIFICATIONS SPECIFICALLY STATED 4-OHM STABLE BRIDGED! BRIDGED! Also, the warranty technician (very arrogant middle eastern foreigner) stated the following: "Our amps are designed to operate in stereo at 4-ohms per channel".
Strike 1. If you are a manufacturer & cannot back up your claims, then stay the hell out of the business.
Incidentaly, i had a pair of RF Punch 1.5 farad caps attached accordingly.
So upon receiving repaired amps, about one month later one of them began to turn on for a second & off in sequence, non-stop. Thus i series-wired the working 2 Comp subs to one amp, (sounded like crap incidentally).
Strike 2. Then my wonderful Profile 400 sx began producing distortion throughout the dynamic range, & it was replaced with the 1200 SX amp to run my DEI midbasses.
Strike 3. Then the 1200 sx just quit running upon increasing the volume a few days later. All skeptics should be informed that all conections were secured & power to the amp was fine. Hence, I replaced all of my external amps with new ones: American Bass D-1000 (current world record holder)for subs & Sony 604EQX 4-channel.
My advice to you all who currently own PROFILE: I guarantee that your amps will fail sooner or later, it is a matter of time. When your amp does fail, be prepared to fight the warranty department, and possibly pay more $ to have it repaired.
Those of you thinking about buying any Profile Product: AVOID PROFILE LIKE THE PLAGUE!
Anyone who doesn't believe me, I'll be glad to sell you my 2 Profile 1200 SX broken amps, and my malfunctioning Profile 400 SX. Put a price on them & I'll consider selling them provided you send me a money order & you pay for anticipated shipping. They would make a great repair project for do-it-yourselfers.
I am extremely bitter about all of the money I lost on these 3 amps. Profile is a scam.
Here's my email address if you wanna pick a fight with me, or to buy my blown amps.
XJ700@hotmail.com I will respond to all inquirys pertaining to whether i sold the amps, & I will provide the name or some type of contact information of that person to show all that I am not a liar! In other words, if you buy these, be prepared to be contacted by other people.
THANKS CARREVIEW FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY TO GET THIS FRUSTRATION OFF MY CHEST!

Strength:

its output power.on brigde mode it uses very deep bass, what it makes this amp very good.the desig is cool too, and power rating its almost correct(not 2x150 watts 4ohms, but about 135 watts rms@4 ohms)
it can use 2 ohms loads (it makes diference on brigde)

Weakness:

heat. i do recommend people that use amp (not only profile), that use fans on amp (a small 12v fans). when you cross the 150 watts rms, it will be very hot. a fan resolves this

well, the price is very good considering the output power, the tri-mode operation(yap, thats right, you can use bouth stereo and brigde mode).
i must say that i have running this amp on home about 2 mounths using 2 jensen 3 ways j1500 speakers(250 watts rms each@ 8ohms), connect they in parallell mode, to use on brigde mode (it makes 4 ohms), and used 2 pioneer speakers 100 watts rms 8 ohms (1 per channel in stereo mode),and a 14v @50A diamond power supply, and i must say it ROCKS. note that it could power up two 15" woffers, almost to its full power (this amp gives about 400 watts rms@4 ohms). the problem really was the heat, so fans are requered as prevetion. i must say this amp is a good buy, compared to price. i have opened the amp and checked it all over(yes, i am a electronics expert)and conclued the following:
transistors brand could be better, but if you treat they good, they will last forever. other components are good. (such regulatots, diodes, etc)
simply follow manual instruction, and it will be fine.
another note:
i know i guy here who makes partys using 3 profile 800sx.
we uses they for about 4 years, and no problem.he still uses they.
an equalizer would give much sound impact, so you donot loose nothing if you buy one.

well, i have checked(not used) kennwood, pioneer, and sony, and none of they could give similiar power output, so i never have seen anything has these amp.

Strength:

nothing

Weakness:

the amp rattles,it is weak, the crossovers suck, protection circuites dont always work

i paid around $345 for the thing and regretted it.i used the amp to power 1 10" solo baric and it could hardly pound it and of course it was bridged and the gains were adjusted correct.the solo baric is supposed to handle 450 watts rms and i know for sure i wasnt getting anywhere close to that and it is supposed to be a 1200 watt amp!!be smart and buy something that has a good reputation and good warranty.

everything (never used it), consider this a warning against cheap amps. you get what you pay for. Do Not buy profile jensen or any other amp that seems too good to be true. they are crap. . if you are a penny pincher and would like to save $$ on a good entry level amp go to www.carmedia1.com

knew better than to buy it. a girl i knew bought one, i told her she should take it back. the new jensen amps work....for a month. sorry, nothing is free, if you'd like a good amp you are going to have to spend a little bit more $$.

Strength:

It would make a good substitute to those blocks people put behind their cars to keep them from rolling down a hill...I would never put one of these within ten feet of my car!

Weakness:

EVERYTHING

The problem with Profile is that the company feeds on uninformed consumers. The price is low because the quality is low. It blows my mind when people are like "Oh I got this four thousand watt Profile amp running a pair of eights I got at the convention center..." When I hear this, like any other audio enthusiast, I grin to myself, knowing they got ripped off. Even the top quality brands make entry level equipment...stay smart, throw down some extra bills, and get a TRULY better deal. Twenty five Orion watts is equal to about two hundred fifty Profile watts...No Joke!

Strength:

This amp pushes a lot of power for the price, and is a very nice looking amp.

Weakness:

This is a very large amp for the power.

I paid $249 for this amp. I would say this is cheep for the power it pushed. I feel that this would be a very nice amp for the beginner.

Great amplifier, have it powering two Infinity Kappa Perfects. It powers them fine, although, i'm sure they could take a bit more.

Strength:

When i hooked one to each of my Infinity Perfect 12" i was very pleased. THe subs can handle 1400W peak and i bridged the amps. So i was running about 900W into these awesome subs. As far as the amps, they are big but were ok because of the false floor i put in. THey look cool and are really easy to set up. My friend has one in his civic w/ 3 MTX 6000 and they hit really really hard, but he has a capacitor. (you will need one)

Weakness:

They get really really hot(unless it's winter and -30 degrees out) and i'm always afraid to burn them out. They have been into protect mode at least 5 times during a 3 hr. trip and it wasn't turned up all the way. I feel like i was ripped off when i could buy a MMATS DHC300 (1200x1 RMS) for less than the price of 2 of these/.

THey are OK amps, but i would never get these again. THis amp will probably be hooked up to 8 subs that have an RMS aroun 150-200 and will be a joke at competition unless they work good. But if you want cheap power and you have money to buy a cap go for it.

Similar Products Used:

they are good if you want one, never buy 2 of these things.
