Model Reviewed:
Polk/MOMO C500.1
Strength:
only draws 50 amps peak so its good on a stock electrical system... OUTSTANDING sound and power
Weakness:
its a little hard to get good 4gauge cable under the removable lid... but it can be done... but once its dont the installation is very clean... the bass remote isn't the prettiest thing to look at but its cool since mine is hidden... other than that nothing... VERY CLEAN... i thought that the bass output would be clean rather than hard hitting... currently running a 15inch Kicker Comp VR dvc (4ohm + 4ohm) in a sealed 1.25 cubic ft enclosure... ill tell u what this amp rocks harder than the MTX AUDIO... hits cleaner than the JL AUDIO and the footprint is very small... just as some backround im a freak w/ car stereo... but i dont go after the hardest hitting bass out there even so the POLK/MOMO does a better job than anything ive seen... i will admit the price for it retail (449.99) is kinda steep but trust me it is well worth it. Take it from a guy who has hooked up more car stereos than he can remember this amp really hits and it hits CLEAN POWER which is most important thsi amp is well worth the money... in fact i think im gonna replace my mids/highs w/ the POLK/MOMO C400.4. Just for the record i have put 2 systems to shame w/ this amp one running in a 01 blazer (2 12" ALPINE TYPE R w/ dual MTX AUDIO THUNDER 421D) and for u JL people i put a 03 avalanche (2 12" W6-v2 w/ Rockford Fosgate 1001bd) to shame now everyone wants my amp... JAR JAR JAR... I am still king.... and thanks to the new Polk/MOMO prob will be for a while Similar Products Used: ROCKFORD FOSGATE, BAZOOKA, SONY, ALPINE, MTX AUDIO, HIFONICS, KENWOOD, JL AUDIO, AUDIOBAHN, KICKER, MA AUDIO, LEGACY, PRECISION POWER INSTRUMENTS (PPI), PHEONIX GOLD and a few others but they are not worth mentioning |
