Strength:

Very impressive powerful amp when done right.

Weakness:

gets pretty warm

Used this amp to run a 15" rocford dual voice coil subwoofer, bridged ch 1 and 2 for one coil and 3 and 4 for the other. Ported Box. Let me just say, "BOOM BOOM BOOM!, and still going strong!"

Power Draw

Amazing looking amp and is a great deal for the money. Pioneer products are the most reliable I have used, and will stand behind them. This amp powers my four JL 12W0s with no problems. I had to replace the alternator to accomodate the power draw of this amp.

Strength:

Great amp for it's price range, puts out tons of power for anything you hook up to it. Combine that with Class A circutry and you got a pretty clean amplifier. With 1-ohm stable operation you can push it beyond 1000w. Good quality amp to hook everything up to, if you want to go crazy, get the GM-X922 and use that for the subs. If you wire subs down to 1-ohm load you can get a constant 1-channel 1200w to your subs and a MAX of 2400w. No kidding. Better than any mono channel amp. This one is true quality. Buy older Pioneer stuff because a lot of the new stuff isn't as good.

Weakness:

POWER HOG!!!! These amps have 60 AMP fuses! Two of them are a 120 AMPS. Your alternator probably only puts out 70-110 AMPS. Definitely not for cheap budget. Probably need battery and capacitors. Otherwise, enjoy driving with nothing powered. Or at least pushing the car :)

Pretty damn good amp if you got the money. With the GM-X922 and GM-X924, you can build a system that is definetly competition ready. Make sure you get high quality subs and speakers so you can appreciate the sound this amp delivers. You may need to replace your alternator, unless you put in a deep cycle battery or use a couple capactiors. If you need explanations on how to get the max power in 1-channel, e-mail me at hondar007@yahoo.com.

This amp is great, but at a cost

Weakness:

Power hungry, not 2 Ohm stable bridged.

I bought my Pioneer amp brand new from AudioWarehouse. Good reputable place to shop! But..make sure you do research on what you buy due to return shipping is paid by you. Unfortunately I sold my amp after 1 year to someone that absolutely wanted that amp, and got what I paid for it. Pioneer has always been a top notch company for budget enthusiasts. Most of their older equipment was better than the new stuff theyre mass producing now.
The amplifier was average sized for the wattage, and was very clean sounding. Now, if you want an amplifier that is Truly NOISE FREE, you might want to save your pennies and upgrade to a Mac, or A/D/S or similar brand.
Distortion is prelevent when volume is increased at high levels - but what amp in this price range doesn't?
Pioneer does not give a rating for this amplifier bridged into 2 channels at 2 ohms. And they are correct, so DONT DO IT. You will experience high heat levels, and the amp will go into protection mode.
If you hook it up correctly, use common sense for your ears, you will have this product for a very...VERY long time.

Strength:

Great quality sound. 0.0004% THD. great output when bridged (or not). It was basically as good as my $400 Alpine.

Weakness:

It gets a little hot - but what car amps don't?

I paid about $200 for my amp. I have channels 3&4 bridged with a JL Audio (dual cone) subwoofer. Channels 1 & 2 run my front speakers (Kenwood 1377). I used to run my Alpine with two subwoofers (unbridged) & that put out a crazy amount of sound. However, with my new speakers and a better quality (THD) amp, I have the perfect system for my Jeep Cherokee. This amp can push enough power to keep you happy & turn heads if you want. I would recommend getting speakers of equal quality so that you can appreciate the power this amp has to offer.

Strength:

This amp puts out a very clean and powerful signal. It has dual inputs for pre-amp's and 1 set going out. It's got an illuminated logo that in the dark looks awesome.

Weakness:

It is a power hog. It alone draws alot of power, enough to stall out the car.

I paid 300$ for this amp. For the price I paid it totally rocks my car stereo, pushing out a very clean and powerful signal. Running at 1ohm it's stable and good for almost up to a 1,000 watts. Plus it has dual cooling fans in case it starts to heat up. I recommend this product to someone that has a little bit of money to spend on a quality amp. This by no means is a standard amp! Its marketed at 439.95$ through most company's I've looked at.

Strength:

The power is really nice, puts out very clean power. The pioneer sign is illuminated, has nice crossovers built in, dual fans, its a great amp.

Weakness:

I've had a few problems with it shutting off for protective purposes, probably my own fault for listening to loud, but kinda annoying.

I paid a very cheap 200 dollars for this brand new through ebay. I reccomend this amp for its looks, features, power, and the name. Don't buy jensen or anything cheap that says same figures, its junk. Clean 65x4 @4ohms makes this a real good deal. I reccomend for real loud 4 channel amplification or anything else you can configure. Pioneer's a reliable name and a good product.

Haven't heard much multichannel competition. This does a very good job.
