Strength:

small, powerfull, and cheap

Weakness:

no fan

This is a great amp. I can''t compare it to much since it''s the only one i have used. Briged it is 500wrms. Some come with better then that. My factory certificate says its 560wrms. Yes it overheats, but that is because unlike some amps it doesn''t have a fan. Also the things is small as hell. With this amp the phoenix gold bass cube (not q''d to the car yet) and two rockford fosgate HE2 15''s I hit 145db off the dash, 148, off the rear window in a 1990 prelude. Thats pretty loud.

Strength:

Great price/performance, clean power. Not too big, not too small.

Weakness:

Gets HOT!

I had my heart set out for a kicker zr360 to drive my 2 idq 10s, but my installer suggested the cheaper xs2500, he told me it was 500W rms which i said, great, my 2 idqs are 250W rms each, so i went ahead and go it, man was i suprised, going from my lanzar to the pg was crazy, it sounded like i had more than 4 times the bass with the new amp. the only problem ive had is the amp getting hot and shutting off, but that was remedied with the installation of an external fan blowing across the amp. Ive had absolutely no shutoff since then, love the amp.

Strength:

i haven't had the amp that long. i bought recently to push my kicker impulse 12(150watts.) i am planning to upgrade to a kicker xpl 12 (500watts.) i was goign to purchase the kicker zr360, but i got a better deal on the phoenix. I want to know which is better, the zr 360 or the phoenix gold xs2500.

Weakness:

i haven't seen any yet..

i posted this to find out which amp was better... (kicker zr 360 vs the phoenix xs2500- i am reiterating it) the zr360 was selling for $500 (rip off at prestige in New Orleans) vs $350 xs2500.

i amp is really nice, even though i had it for less than a month. i only have the amp turned up 1/2 way so i won't blow my crap as$ sub. it hasn't shut off or burn up....

i can't give it a higher rating b/c i haven't used it to the max....

i only had 3 amps.. it has tons of power compared to the 300 watts x 6 channel amp i had & the kicker 352i (120 watts x1)

Strength:

this amp has an amazing ability to continuously put a huge amount of power to the subs with out ever burning up. I am running it at twice the load that it is stable at and it never dies, it gets real hot and shut off once, but when it cooled down it turned right back on. it will blow two 30 amp fuses so that gives you an idea of the power it draws. I leave two 40's in it now and have it running at 1ohm mono to a digital dynamics 15.

Weakness:

not a single one

an exelent amplifier worth every penny

Its a good looking and powerful amplifier.

Weakness:

none

This is a really great amplifier. I originally bought it to run two JBL 15's but then I needed an amp to run my inside speakers so I hooked it up to them. The speakers sound great and it delivers good clean power to all 4 speakers. I can only imagine how it runs two subs. The only problem is that it gets a little hot so I fold down my seat to give it some air, but that is about it. I recommend this to anyone who wants a good amplifier at a decent price. PG strikes again!!!

Power, quality, price$$$$, good looks

Weakness:

nothing yet

This is the baddest amp for the money. Not too many two channel amps can be bridged and run at 2 ohms, but this one can. It is easily putting out 1000w x 1 @2ohms. Requires a good power hookup, and probably a cap. Great amp for the buck

Strength:

Good looking amp, nice size for power rating. Would recommend it for power hungry components, but not subwoofers.

Weakness:

Doesn't do well as a subwoofer amp, doesn't have a regulated power supply, and gets very hot.

I'm sure this a great amp for components, but it's definitely not the best amp for a subwoofer.

I'm running a JL Audio 10W6 (Dual 6 ohm voice coil) at 3 ohm. Power handling is 300 watts. It's being powered by the XS2500 bridged mono. It's probably putting out somewhere around 450 watts. It sounds good, but not much better than my JL 10W1-4 running of a JL 300/4 (150x1 to the sub and 75x2 to a pair of JL components, XR-650CS).

Of course, it's not meant to be a subwoofer amp. I've decided to get a true class 'D' mono sub amp (DEI 1100D) to power 2 JL 10W6 subs. I'll probably use the XS2500 to power my components (that's what it was built for).

For now, I have to say it's mediocre. The JL 10W6 requires a lot of clean power to perform at it's best. The unregulated power supply is unforgiving. Without a steady 14.4v, it definitely does not live up to its power rating.

I'll update after I've had it running my components for a while.

And, it definitely gets hot running subwoofers, as a class A/B amp should, I suppose. I've never had it shut off, so that's a good sign.

Hifonics Zeus, JL 300/4, JL 300/2. On par with Hifonics, although it's more expensive. Can't touch JL's regulated A/B amps, even at half the power rating.

Looks nice and is quite small

Weakness:

not enough power

I dont' think it is as good as it is said to be cause it just doesn't power very much. I would much rather get a mono amp and hit my subs with it.

Similar Products Used:

I just recently got it and i went to hook it up to two (2) infinity Kappa, 12'' subs and it didnt' power it as well as i had anticipited. I am going to try it but for now my other amp hit harder which is a 1000 watt @ 2 ohem 4 channel amp.
