Strengths: playes good looks good and easy to adjust.
Weakness:
The Negative ting about it is that it get's very hot and needs a lot of air around Nice amplifier, sounds good and powerfull. My amp. runs with 2 Rockford 6x9" and a JBL GTi 12" Sub, it's okey but can't handle the sub when the volume is very loud. But its a great amplifier and i'd like to recomend it. . Strength:
A good value for an entry level audiophile. Nice cosmetics and a decent set of features.
Weakness:
A little short on power when the volume is cranked, but matched with proper components, this can't be considered a weakness. I used this for a short time running a ZX component set and one 12" Polk db sub. The rear channels were bridged for 1 x 150. IMO, it sounded great. When the budget allowed and my bass fetish took hold, I was forced to upgrade, and gave this amp to my father in law. Strength:
Reliability, clean power, sharp chrome finish, and phoenix gold quality. Price is nice too.
Weakness:
Lack of Low pass filter when bridging the front 2 channels. A very nice entry level 4 channel amp from Phoenix Gold. Produces a legitimate 50+RMS per channel. Even when the rear channels are bridged down, it can run a decent sub such as a MTX6000. The amp will power all entry level, mid level speakers without a problem. The amp itself is a bit large so it will need some space. Aside from mid/high end audio amps which is twice its price, this is absolutely the best 4 channel amp I've EVER had the pleasure to own. Now keep in mind I'd recommended this amp to power your interior speakers, or a small/efficient sub only. Don't expect this bad boy to power a Solobaric or something of that nature. Similar Products Used: MTX RT4180 & Sony XM754x. This amp is similar in price and will blow the heatsink off those amps. More power, better looks, cleaner signals, just a superior amp overall for the $$$. |
