MTX Thunder 801D
Strength:
TINY Footprint. Won't destroy your electrical system.
Weakness:
Only 2 ohm stable. Tiny, and I mean MINUSCULE amplifier for the power it puts out. It is rated 250 watts rms at 4ohms, and 500 watts rms at 2 ohms. And I believe it. The thing POUNDS. Back in the day, I had a ENORMOUS HiFonics Isis. It was a cheater amp. A '100 watt' amp that happened to be 18" long. It actually put out somewhere in the neighborhood of 800 watts rms because it was 1/2 ohm stable.

Strength:
unbelievable power. CLEAN power with a unbelievable crossover. probably the best 800 watt class d mtx has made! MTX quality all the way. doesnt chew much power either
Weakness:
are you crazy? Well, to say the least it has one of the most powerful built in crossovers i have heard. Pushes way more than what rated at, (thats just mtx the underrate everything) Im running it on 3 mtx 6000 10's in the tri sub inclosure. I have a cutlass supreme, huge trunk. This amp is by far the best i have had! I get compliments on how good and low my bass hits, i love tearing up my friends jl 12 w3's in a eclipse hatchback! that prolly answers all your questions. |
