    Model Reviewed: MTX 8302 amp

    Strength:

Strong A$$ little amp. Reall put outs a lot more watts then it says it does.

    Weakness:

Only one I can think of is it gets hot sometimes. I keep my windows down and my back window down so my amps do cool off.(they hang off my back seats)

I have a 97 runner SR5 on KMC clocker 18s dropped 3 inchs in the front and back.(haha had to say it) I bought one MTX 302 about a year ago. It pushed my low-level JBL subs to the subs max. Finally, i went and got a bigger box and 2 JLw3 12s. WOW! My sub were hittin good! and my subs were 4ohms. Later about a week ago, i bought aother one to give 425 to each sub. D.A.M.N! My system sounds better then most 15s ive heard and 4 12s at once. Im soon going to get 2 more JLw3 12s and power from the 2 amps. I recommend this for people looking for a great deal. For only 250? you just cant beat the power it gives off!

THIS AMPS SOUND QUALITY IS GREAT I USE IT TO POWER OUT MY 2 MTX 6000 12".8 OHMS AND I RAN IT STEREO 4 OHMS ITS SOUND GREAT IN WITH MY FACTORY LEXUS SYSTEM IN MY ITS ALL I NEED TO FILL IN THE BASS GAP I WAS MISSING. IF U WANT A GOOD AMP TO RUN HIGH QUALITY SPEPARATE WITH RMS RATE OF 75 TO 125 OR SUBS TO FILL IN NOT TO WAKE THE HOLE BLOCK UP..ADVIDES YOU WILL NEED A CAP WITH THIS AMP

    Strength:

It's power. MTX always underrates their amps, and this is a prime example of it.

    Weakness:

It tends to overheat when it is hot outside and it has been running at mid volume for about 10 minutes. It is not really its' fault because it sits in a trunk that does not have good air flow, so I hooked up a little 12 volt fan to cirrculate the air around it. That seemed to do the trick.

This amp is great. I have one MTX 6000 10" now, and I am about to get my box for the second 6000 10" I have. I was worried that it might not have enough power to run these two subs very well. However, my brother is running the same amp with 2 MTX 6000 12" subs. It is one of the best sounding systems that I have heard because it is not too boomy like some people like to have (so people outside can hear them). There is no distortion, it hits the lows well, and it only cost me $180 instead of $350. However, until I have ran both of my 10" subs with it in my car and hear how it sounds, I cannot honestly advise anyone who is running a pair of subs. I would not discourage that puchase though.

I have never strayed from the MTX brand when it comes to amplifiers and subwoofers. If only they made decks... Imagine the possibilities!
