MTX Thunder 2300x amp
Strength:
very powerful for its nice compact size. lots of strong deep bass tons of power. hooked up to one alpine type r 12" in a ported box in my stratus which is twwwo door so its a lil louder. but even in my li ass car and way back in the trunk everythings so loud and clear. id buy one for sure i want another one. you can hook two of my subs up to it but im just gonna run both off one when i get the other amp and sub . amazing.
Weakness:
like every one else. over heating . but not half as bad as they make it seem just dontg run your stuff ragged . no problems best amp ever had. not kenwood, no pioneer, no directed, no rockford, besides the punch 1000 db get one. worth every conned penny . i got a steal tho. When hot tends to overheat nothing too bad Very nice amp. Incredible power almost unrealistic for the size. I have it pushing 2 JL W3V3 2 ohm subs and the bass is tight clean and LOUD. Buy one if you ever run across one Similar Products Used: Audiobahn Flame Q, Sony XPlod 1200, Boss 1200 |

Would get to hot and turn off in a hatchback, in the sun when temps above 90...go figure. Purchasd this on the rec of the techs I worked with at a car audio shop. It was the amp that they all used, and MTX was in the process of phasing them out. I started off with 3 very bottom of the line 10's in a custom encloure and it was amazing, I was setting off other peoples car alarms when I was stopped next to parked cars and it dropped my rear view mirror as well.

Amazing power Increidible Bass Boost Great X-over system
Weakness:
no 1ohm stable tend to overheat a little but nothing critical It is one of the greatest amp i ever had. It makes any sub to go to its maximun levels. I have it working with 2 pioneer 305dvc and the bass is amazing. Just for fun with put it to 1ohm with the 2 subs and tested for Spl and it got 145.6db --- that was the fuses end. Strength:
This amp is a powerhouse that is rock solid and built to last. It has a plain yet sleek look and runs fairly efficient for the power it has. It produces a very clean sounding bass that hits deep.
Weakness:
If you are using with a ported box in an SUV or van it is impossible to turn it up all the way without blowing your subs unless you have some serious competition speakers. Overall the amp performed very well. I had two 12" Cerwin Vega's and it seemed like too much power which surprised me considering the subs said they could handle 400 watts rms The power output with the bass boost cranked seemed to be around 350 watts. The amp was rated at 217 watts rms x 2 and 708 watts x 1 at 4 ohm. Similar Products Used: mtx thunder 6000 components . |

Weakness:
NONE!!!!! Powerful amplifier! Rated 600Wrms puts out 708Wrms (x 1 into 4 ohm @ 12.5VDC). Using it to drive two (2) JL Audio 10W3D4 subwoofers. This amplifier drives these subs hard. Clean / accurate bass. Gets a little warm, but has never shut off. Very small (especially considering the amount of power output). Strength:
Incredibly clean, proprietary cooling fan, immense power sub amp, a REAL bass boost @40Hz, built-in X-over, small footprint, CAN and WILL stomp with the big dogs, given adequate power supply.
Weakness:
MTX does not build these amps any more due to IDIOTS going against companies wiring suggestions! MAD POWER!!! VASTLY UNRATED!!!I have heard U.S. Amps push IDQs, and I say NOT loud enough. Ran right over the L5's. Got Optima red top under hood,1farad cap,4gauge wiring and I my 2000 Cavaliers' rear window has flex out of its grooves! Kept at 4ohm mono.Amateurs disobey company's suggestions explaining why amp shuts off.Lights dim now. After upgrading power supply(yellow top w/isolater and maybe 1/0guage electrical wiring and if I find a reputable alterntor company 225amps) and subs to L7's, listen for the Jurassic THUMP!!! the opnl weakness is trying to find a sub that will handle the power. This amp is the sh!t. any sub you connect to this beauty will bumb to there best capacity!!! you aint gonna find another amp like this for the money. all the ratings need to be x's bye like 3 to get what this amp really puts out. although this amp has become very rare since they discontinued making it so if you got one feel lucky.
