Strength:
It gives out some really raw power. I am using it to run 2 MTX 8000 12's and it pushes them just fine and probably with a little left over.
Weakness:
I am running 4 guage power wire and am using my normal car battery and alt. along with a PG circuit breaker and a Strike cap. When i but on like a Bass Mekanick cd and I am not moving but just letting thee car run, I blow the fuses on-board the amp. I would recomend this amp to any one who needs some good clean power to any pair of subs. I think that there are many other good amps out there too. Most of these reviews are just opinions from people, but the real test is whether or not you like how it sounds. If the question were to come down to me again to get this amp, I think that I WOULD, but maybe not for that price. Similar Products Used: I have an MTX 250x to power my highs and I really like it it does a great job. I am a big audiphile person and I think that I have heard many of the best amps on the market. |

Strength:
Open and present sound Q,needed 3- 35amp fuses, would blow the 3- 30amp it came with on low freq, but it hammered the other 2 class D amps I compared it to into DUST.
Weakness:
Not a small amp,a bit inconvenient to find mounting area for. !-At a 4 ohm load(~3.6 ohms) on the Kicker, and on 2 L7 12",the ZR 600 hit 151.3dB,the crossFIRE! 600d hit 146+dB,the crossFIRE! 1000d hit 148.7dB(both 'FIRE! d amps were at 1 ohm,all four 2 ohm voice coils paralleled, plus box impedence rise at 56hz = ~.9 ohms total)and the MTX 2300 we also compared hit 150.7 at 4 ohms. Strength:
Raw, unlimited power. Great flexibility. Crossover makes life easy
Weakness:
Early ones had a high suicide rate This is a fantastic amp. Mine benched at 871 watts RMS bridged into 4 ohms. That's a whole lot of power. The sound quality is great, and there is no noise. The amp looks as tough as it works and the internal components are well laid out. I'm using it to power two 12" Oz Audio 250L subs, and in my firebird I got 141.1 dB when my 100 amp breaker tripped. That's some serious spl considering the system was tuned for sound quality, and spl was never a major consideration when buying the amp. Anyway, it decided to comit suicide about 3 months after I owned it. One of the FETs failed. This was a fairly common problem on the early ZR amps, but since it was repaired I had no further problems. When it failed, the fuses on the case did not blow and 12 volts shot up my RCAs and smoked the output of my deck as well. Since I have not seen this happen to any since mine, I'll assume that the problem has been corrected and therefore I won't take a star away. Fantastic product. The ZR series amps have been a great addition to my system. These are very strong amps with quite a bit of headroom. They have some great dynamics, and I am using them on both my subs and mids/highs. I stronly recommend the ZR series amps, especially the ZR600 & ZR1000. |
