Strength:

Very Powerful, really nice to look at, very easy to adjust compared to those amps where the controls are on the side

Weakness:

didn't find any yet except the plastic on the top is easily scratchable

Simply the best amp I every used for my subs, I used it with two 12" cerwin vegas at 2ohm, never got hot even if sometimes I put some of my stuff over it thanks to the fan.

I was using a phoenix gold Safire SA3.0x before, I got the a better sound (probably due to the dampening factor) but no really big difference

This amp is great Im powering two DB+ subs and with the servo connection they are tight as hell. This amp also goes to 1 ohm I heard if you swap the 15 fusses for 20's. Looks cool as hell

Weakness:

Power at lower ohms
Look

Weakness:

Very heavy, if your into racing at all.

I am using this amp to power 2 Kicker Solobaric L7's. I read on here that the amp is capable of running at 1ohm, but when i did it, it ran very hot. Recently I was told that it is "craving" for more power. I have a farad cap on its way. Right now i am running the amp at 4ohms and it is pushing the subs decently (vibrates everything), and the amp runs very very cool and has never shut off. I had the amp running at 1ohm for a day and lets just say it kicks A$$, and I hope I can keep cool at 1ohm. I would suggest this amp to run 2 12's at 2ohms, its a very nice setup.

I did find the amp online for as cheap as $335, but money wasnt a problem for me so i wanted the full warranty and want to be able to register it with kenwood for the extra warranty.

In my car I also have the Kenwood KVT-910DVD which is also an Excelon product which made me choose this amp for the remote features.

I have used many amps: JBL, Kicker, Orion, MTX....it goes on. Never liked Kenwood for POWER, but they have definitly done it with there new Excelon amps. BEAST

Strength:

The cooling fan, awesome blue light....I love that. Uhm, they're ok if I guess if you dont punish them for long preiods.

Weakness:

Didnt last. Kept blowing out fuses.

It thumped my friends MTX 8000 12", but the amp later on blew after jammin to it for 45 mins. We kept trying to change the fuses, but they kept poppin. I didnt like kenwood that much in the start, now I dont like it at all.

Similar Products Used:

Compared to some MTX amp, not sure of the model. Bridged, it outputs more than enough to power the sub. It sounds a lot better as well. It wasnt the 81000D, but I sure wish I had one.
