never ever had it over heat!
Weakness:
fan is loud, but keeps it cool bass boost is terrable makes it sound horible I like the amp. I've had it run may different set ups and its followed me through 3 cars. I've had the amp for a long time but have only used it in two channel 4 ohm. It's durable, thats for sure i've had it pour down rain on it more than once and after it dries out it is fine. I've seen alot of amps but not many as good for the money(i'm buying a second) Similar Products Used: Rf 400.4 /eclipse 800x4/ PROFILE cl600(great amp) |

Strength:
Fairly cheap, -18 dB/octave adjustable LPF, puts out over 400 RMS @ 4 ohms ...
Weakness:
Produces less than rated power (410 RMS), loud fan, goes into protection with 4 ohm mono loads on hot days (Even though I have 10% tint protecting it), inefficient, gains possibly mislabeled I've owned this amp for almost 2 years now and I can't say it isn't durable. I, however, can say that this amp isn't all it's cracked up to be. Value - ~400 RMS for $400 Canadian is pretty good. However, it says 460 RMS but mine benched at 408 RMS into 4 ohms @ 14.4 Volts. Carsound.com did a review one this amp and it did 418 RMS (2x214 RMS into 2 ohms stereo) into 4 ohms mono @ 14.4 Volts, so it's very likely that if you buy this amp, you won't be getting 460 RMS as stated. Sound Quality - Loud fan, clips pre-out voltage is matched (Could be mislabled, but all I know is that I have 1.1 V {measured} pre-outs and I have to set this amp to 1.8 Volts to prevent it from clipping.), turn-on bumps are muted pretty well, crossover is alright, overall sound quality is average at best. Design/Appearance - While I love the blue LED, it's kind of ugly. Durability - Lasted 2 years ... Features - Bass expander makes bass sound boomy (That's bad, unless you like that stuff). Bass boost has a pretty narrow Q, so you get very peaky bass. Crossover is -18 dB/octave and adjustable between 50-200 Hz. It prevents turn-on/turn-off bumps well. Power supply is pretty basic and will not support 2 ohm mono loads very well. With 60 amps worth of fuses (2x30A), I expected a lot more power, but, as it turns out, this thing is just really inefficient. My Class A Pioneer Premier puts out 390 RMS with just 40 amps worth of fuses and it's a Class A (Most inefficient class of amplifiers)!!! Mind you, that amp is worth almost twice as much as this one, but still ... that's an inefficient amplifier if I ever did see one ... Overall - It's all right, but I'd recommend another amp. The fan will drive you nuts after about 6-9 months and the overrated power and high distortion rates do not turn me on. The US Acoustics USX2150 is a much better amp that puts out more power, puts out cleaner power, has better crossovers, and costs less. Strong AMP Cool Light Slim design
Weakness:
Gets HOt pretty quick LOVE THIS AMP!! Just putting together a system for my Expo and needed a cheap amp to power my 3 10" jlw6's I'm saving to buy the 1000/1 JL but not sure i want to now. LOL I have a JL 250/1 and it can't even come close to what the Kenwwod does for my car. I've had the managers and installers come out of two different radio shops just to find out what i was bumping. I was like "They're only 10's" It sounds great. For the price I got it for I couldn't ask for anything better. |

Strength:
Built in cooling fan. Puts out alot of power. Great quality. Does not get hot like other amps.
Weakness:
none that I've found I have to say this is a really good amp. I've been through many amps and I can say they don't come close to this one. I bought this amp mainly cause of the cooling fan. I have had amp getting to hot and with this one is does not get hot. Maybe warm on a hot day. Puts out alot of power. I have it hooked up to a ported kicker solo-baric L7 and let me tell you it hits hard and you need alot of power to power a L7 . Before this I had an MTX 6500d mono amp and that amp did not even come close to the kendwood. Also the blue light looks cool. Great amp. Good for the price too. Your getting a high qualtiy amp here. Strength:
Serious power, amplifies bass very well. Very good looking and could easily power almost any sub you gave to it.
Weakness:
So far, haven''t found any. This amp runs two 10" Diamond Audio subs (8ohm each) in my boot, bridged output. It copes with no problems (some amps would have difficulty), and sends serious watts to the subs! Bass boost gives an extra edge on bass. Similar Products Used: N/A |
