Strength:
Good sound, good value, nice all in one 4 channel amp.
Weakness:
Can sound a little strained when pushed real hard, but at anything but very high volume, the sound is very good. I don't have room for a sub in my trunk (business related) so I wanted a 4 channel amp to run my 6.5 Kicker coaxs in the rear and 6.5 JBLs in the doors. This amp does a great job fof the price. I listen to mostly rock so the bass boost some amps have isn't missed by me and it plays at pretty high sound levels for 50 watts a channel. Similar Products Used: n/a |

Strength:
many different settings for the picky type. good sound and apearance
Weakness:
can be confusing to adjust. until i read the manual. Good amp so far. I looked into it before buying it and have found that it does put out a considerable amount of bass considering its a 4 channel amp. IRight now its pushing 2 12 inch kicker 300 watt speakers and doing fine. Well you get what you pay for and im happy with my purchase. Strength:
Doesn''t get to hot, doesn''t shut off, good crossovers.
Weakness:
No bass boost (not really needed for powering main speakers though). Could be a little cleaner. I bought this amp used from a friend for just $75. It kicks out a fairly clean 50watts x 4 @ 4ohms. Runs pioneer premier 6 1/2 coaxials up front, high passed from 80hz up. Then the Premier 6x9 speakers in the back run low passed at about 100hz and below. I love the way it bumps the 6x9s to their full potential. The highs could be clearer at loud levels, but at only 50watts rms you can''t expect to much. Not audiophile quality, but decent enough. Strength:
High power amp for a small amount of cash
Weakness:
A lot of power, but deadens at high volume I paid 175 dollars for my new 848. I can't really complain too much for the price I paid. I've done some recent shopping, and I can say that it is good for the price, but sometimes cheaper prices also means cheaper quality. I had my amp rated and it did not push what it says in the specs. It rated at 46x4 @ 4 ohms and 66x4 @ 2 ohms, and 128x2 bridged into 4 ohms. I was not at all satisfied with that at all. Similar Products Used: Compared to Rockford Fosgates' Punch 75.2 It has a lot of power but tends to drop off at high volumes. |

Strength:
Lots of power for price, excellent sound (through my Eclipse and MB Quart speakers), very usable x-over.
Weakness:
Not pounding bass, but you don't buy a 4 channel amp for bass. This amp is very reliable as long as it's used within it's design range. It never overheats, but I don't use it to make bass, (that's a job for my Planet Audio sub). Don't buy this amp if you expect it to be a bass machine, use it to hear everything else. Buy a sub amp for that. Overall, a worthwhile amplifier and expect it to keep on playing for years to come. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Good solid power. No distortion caused by it and sufficient bass output.
Weakness:
Bass may become a little weaker as volume increases, but that may be due to my soon to be replaced factory receiver and the fact that right now 6x9's are supplying the bass (also soon to be changed). I would recommend this amp to anyone looking for a good, clean power supply for their speakers. I'm pushing 2 Cerwin Vega 4x6's and 2 Cerwin Vega 6x9's right now (and my friends swear I have a 10 or 12 in the trunk) but in about a week it'll be pushing 2 JL 12W0-4's and will be backed by a Pioneer Premier DEH-P720 so i'll be able to make it push some more bass to the subs. When everything is installed I will submit a review on the subs and receiver and how this amp handled the application. Overall, don't let anyone tell you Kenwood amps are crap, especially this one. They are good quality amps at a good price. Similar Products Used: None |

versatility: 4-channel bridgeable for 150 W x2 rms @ 4 ohm impedance
Weakness:
so far so good. seems to heat up a bit, but that's expected. good performance so far. -i am using one of the 848s to run two twelves. i am using another 848 to run fronts and rears. they wail!! the x-over saves you from buying a electronic x-over unit or fiddling w/ capacitors for a passive x-over system (waste of time). Strength:
very good power 50x4 with crisp sound
Weakness:
Not good for pushing subs I think this kenwood amp is great for smaller speakers and your can bridge the rear channels for a sub. The sub will not hit that hard but will sould ok. It is great for running 6x9 and smaller speakers and will give you good clean crisp sound. Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Decent price. Respectable sound at moderate volume.
Weakness:
I would expect this amp to sound a little better at high volumes. I dont have any illusions about what a $250 Kenwood 4 x 50 will do but Im not thrilled. I paid $150 lightly used. I would recommend it if you're on a tight budget but if you can throw down a little more $$$ you may be happier. Similar Products Used: None |
