Strength:

Powerful; running two MTX TS-82's off a Kenwood CD player, they give ample sound and thump to my Isuzu SpaceCab truck.

Weakness:

Thump when powering on - what happened to the advertised soft-start feature?

I like the amp - working in conjunction with the "45-watt" amplifier in my Kenwood CD head unit which powers two 4 1/2-inch Kenwood speakers in front, it provides me with clean, solid sound in the boxed MTX units given the environment it is working in. Had to use a Monster Cable LNX RCA cable to avoid noise, let it be known. Not a fancy set-up at all, but very nice sound in my work truck.

This amp beats real hard. Says 600 watts but may be a little underated. Running 2 jl audio w-0's 4 ohm 12" subs mono. getting almost 300 watts per speaker rms!!! an actual test showed i was running 296 watts per speaker rms bridged at 2ohm mono.

Weakness:

none whatsoever

Must Buy. 296 watts per speaker rms at 2 ohms mono is hard to beat for a 170$ amp. After purchasing and hooking up i took it to a competition stereo store and had them give me a db rating. 146.4 db!! off of 2 12's on a 160$ amp!! the owner of the store literally Sh*t himself when i showed him what i was using and how i had it hooked up. just remember 2 ohms mono!!

Strength:

It can pound if matched up with right subs..., Ease of use, Price.

Weakness:

No selectable crossover, but don't forget - for $170US it's pretty good.

I think this is a prety good amp as long as you remember what you paid for it. I ran my sealed single 10" Polk db(300rms) and it sounded ok. Moved on to 2 10" MTX4000(400rms) in a bandpass - even better. Then hooked it up to 3 JLw0's(375rms) and it still is impressing me. I ran all these diferent setups under bridged mode and the amp has never gotten more than warm. Overall.. a pretty stout amp. If you want a very capable amp at an affordable price this is a great option.

Strength:

Compared to the price of amps these days, this amp is worth every penny I paid for it. For a mid range range amp, I would recommend it to anybody. Doesn't have much distortion unless gain is more than about 75%. Has never overheated, even when I had it running in a 2 ohm mono connection. As a matter of fact, it has torn up two of my JBL 12in GT series DVC subs. Completely burned the voice coils up. Can be used on a wide range on subs with rating anywhere between 100w and 300w RMS.

Weakness:

The only real thing I don't like about it, is that on the amp it has a rating of 600w. Yeah right! I had it tested at 4 ohms stereo and 2 ohms stereo. About 98.5w x2 at 4 ohms and 150w x2 at 2 ohms.

This amp has worked great for me. I actually made the sales associate change his sales strategy at Circuit City, after he told me that the KAC-728s wouldn't run 2 12in JBL GT series DVC speakers. After I brought the speakers back with burned voice coils, he changed his mind and actually started selling more of those than the $350 dollar mtx amp he was trying to sell with those speakers. I have nerver blown a fuse in this amp and I even knocked out my entire back window in my cherokee jeep when i had the speakers in a 2 ohm x1 connection. They had to be close to getting about 200-225w RMS a piece. I had to put a capacitor on the amp and 4 gauge wire, and the amp got just a little more than warm after about 2hours of continuous play. The only problem I ran into was that at this connection, the amp was hogging all the power, and leaving my 300w four channel amp for the mids and highs with just enough power to play. So basically, my bass was totally drowning out my mids and highs. So I put the subs back in a 2 ohm x 2 connection, and my mids and highs went back to normal.

Strength:

Ummmmm...it was pretty cheap, I guess. It can run a single sub, but not enough balls for much more. I replaced it and now it's collecting dust. Anyone want to buy it?

Weakness:

No selectable crossover frequency - only Full Range and 80hz LPF.I'd also like to see SOME truth in advertising (600 watts? - COME ON!!!!)

Paid 269.99 CDN for it. Way too much. Save $120 and buy a Legacy - same crap.

Strength:

It puts out a good bit of power. My two 12" have some thump.

Weakness:

Overheated easily. Have to keep the gain around .5. Distortion when gain is up.

I paid $162 including shipping from somebody on ebay. Great amp for the price. I would recommend it for the mid end user. Dont expect to milk as much juice out of this thing as box claims. Not even close. Still, runs pretty well.

Strength:

It puts out clean power to my single sub. It was powering an mtx 5000 12". It stayed fairly cool even on the hot summer days so I loved that. I played it loud!

Weakness:

It was a little too big to go under my seat. I wish it was a bit smaller. I did not like the # of controls it had. Not many at all for that matter. I like it when I can adjust instead of hitting a buttton.

Overall I would recomend it. I paid 200 US dollars for it. I do not know if it can push two subs well but I can imagine it would do ok. I just didnt like the small amount of features it had. I also didnt like the size. I need to put my amp under my seet and the way the my floor is, it stuck out the back of the seat a little. If you live in a bad neighborhood like me you do not want anyone to see it. I got away with it but it was nervwrecking. I recomend this amp to someone who cannot afford a really expensive amp and only needs to power one or maybe two(but don't know)subs. It worked well for me power wise just to big for my situation.

Strength:

Powers my tens very nicely and powers my 12 in alumapro nicely two. High power w/ low distortion

Weakness:

when i bridged it for my 2 10's and turned the gain up to 3/4 it often overheated. this can be fixed by hooking up fans that run of your amps remote and battery wire

I paid 199.99 for it at my local American store I bought it on sale so i think i got a good deal I would recommend this amp to anyone who wants the most bang for the buck. Oh yeah I hooked it up to my friends set of jenson's and we blew his subs so I would keep it away from any sub with a low power handling
