Strength:
Has very easy to use controls (gainer/x-over/etc..), and works well. it's a good price for what you get, if you use it right.
Weakness:
The wires inside the amp aren't insulated enough, so if you get it too hot the insulation on the wires melt. i was running a pair of 12" MTX 4000's, and melted my A/B channel without the gainer being all the way up. all in all, it's a good amp to run your regular speakers off of, but don't try to run any subz, at least not any good subz off of it, cause you'll blow the amp. Strength:
can be 2-3-4 channal amp, runs under difficult operation, crossover built in.
Weakness:
it has no good cooling unit and i had mine operating at 146 degrees far. internal temperature when i was just running a/b channal because my c/d channals were blown I would recommend this to anyone that is going to drive component speakers but not subwoofers because the amp doesnt have a good enough cooling source to cool it and it melts the wires inside. None really, thought it was a powerful amp for a cheap price. Well I got it and my c/d channel melted pushing a mtx 6000 12" with the gain only half way up!
Weakness:
very cheap contruction, don't buy thinking your getting a powerful amp for a cheap price, spend a little more and get a good brand. Don't get this amp for ANY subz, maybe regular speakers, but it can't handle NEAR the power it claims Similar Products Used: None |

cheap price nothing else is good about it
Weakness:
cover for the gain control rattles it. Worked for 2 8in JLs but it boggs out when I installed 2 12in Diamonds M5122.4 the amp is low quality and over ratted for power out put they claim 200rms per channel bridged, but I think it is only aroud 100rms or less The amp worked good for 2 8in JLW6 subs but got hot when cranked up for a while but I never had it shut off on me.The amp will start to clip when you crank up the tunes even with the gain turned down an really clips with the gain turned up. Over all it think it is a good amp to start your system out with but if you up grade to high qualiy subs this amp doesnt work for a damned so a new amp is needed Similar Products Used: JBL is allot better quality, and flat out blows away jensen in every aspect |
