Strong for price (retail price); doesn''t die.

Gets a bit hot after a few hours of use (Probably wouldn''t be as noticeable when actually used what it''s ment for)

Well first it should be stated that I am not using this for speakers.....I''m powering subs with it (ahem.) We got it feeding 120 watts (it''s bridged) to subs that needs at least 2000. (I don''t have funds for a better amp at the moment) Suprisingly, this thing is holding unbelievably well. It has died only once, and has never had a problem since. I will be usin this to power 4 6X9''s, which it is more than ample enough to do (60x4) The fact it''s sustained the kind of abuse I''m putting on it shows how reliable Eclipse items are.

Very clean amplifier, not distortion, just crisp clear sound

From what I have noticed, the 3640 is one of the best amps that you can drive eclipse speakers (INTERGRATED SERIES) with. I have the 8393 (6x9's)
and the 82641 (6 1/2's) They sound absolutley amazing with this amp. I would definatley rate this amp in a class with PPI, ORION, and XTANT amps. Also this amp is atleast 2x cheaper. Truat me and go with this amp. Will be the smartest thing you do for building up a system.

P.S. I highly reccomend put together an all eclipse system. (HEAD UNIT, AMP, & SPEAKERS) When these products are together it is one of the sweetest sounding systems that are availible for WAY less that 1000.

Amaizing clarity, even at very high volumes. Pushes my JL 6" in the doors and my JL 5'8" easily.

This amp is very clean. Doesn't have a ton of power but still pushes my MB Quart components easily. Great amp if your looking for accuracy rather than just boom.

Got if for $299.00, compared to other amps for the money it's very hard to beat. I would definately recommend this amp.
