They stay cool don't ever get hot

they will push out more power then the amp says you get ever 100 to 200 watts out of them.

The 2200HCX amp that I recived has excelent hard chrome plating, and with the blue lights, can creat a excelent lightshow. The remote gain controler is a good additition to the 2200 HCX. Clean power when set up properly. Good SQ for the money

Now that i have listed all of the good things and information on my tests i need to go to the dark closet and inform you readers about the bad things. The amp i used for testing, The 2200 HCX was actually a audiobahn warranty replacement for my year 2000 audiobahn 2200hc. I bought the 2200HC in 2001, and upon its arival I was very upset that when I installed it in my car it did not work at all. All of my wiring was ok, so I new it was the amp. I called Audiobahn and discused my warranty return. They sent the paperwork for the return, and after I sent my amp in, 2 weeks later I recived a HCX 2200 hcx amp, the newer 2001 model. (All of my testing information i have posted is for the 2200hcx amp which is almost identical to the 2200HC) The new amp works fine and didn''t have the problem like the other one did. Audiobahn''s instructions in 2000 models were not up to what I would consider par, however the 2001 models instructions are much better. Audiobahns quality control could be better, I purschased a set of there RCA cables recently, and was dismayed that the remote turn wire was pulled out.

I have been using my 2001 model audiobahn 2200hcx amp for a while now, and I must say I really like it. Before I start talking about what i like/don''t like about it, I would like to inform readers of some important information. I saw some comparisons of the 2200 amp online to brand X D class amps, and they say the audiobahn drains a lot of power. LOL!! The audiobahn amp is a high current amp meaning it will waste a lot of power in the form of heat, instead of class d amps which are more efficient turning input power into output power. Class d amps require a lot less input power but with a typical sacrifice of sound quality most, and class D''s are also typically bass only amps. So please don''t compare other amps that aren''t in the same class with amps like the 2200 and claim that the class D amp has more power, especially if your charging system is inadequate. nuff said Also as a general guide line, when you replace an amp with a new one and see a loss of DB it could be because the amp isn''t set up properly, and/or your power cable/charging system isn''t up to par, especially when your dealing with inefficient High current amps. Now, to some more specific information on this 2200 hc amp: Its power rating is at 12.5 volts, I have the proper equipment to test actual power output in watts but i have yet to test this amp to see if its ratings of 1600 watt rms are accurate. Even if i do run tests to find output, I will not post them, and please don''t request them, in my opinion how an amp sounds and performs is more important then buying amps by the wattage claims. My testing equipment AKA 3 custom astron DC power supplies paralleled, 6 farad of caps,an a/d/s 310rs sub, an 701u Panasonic deck, an audiobahn 20 band eq, and my good ol'' ears. Also all tests were done in a well insulated room for general testing and to provide more accurate results of typical performance, the amp and any speakers i mention were also installed for testing in a 1993 mazda protege. Thing drains a ton of power. I had it hooked up with 10 gauge because I didn''t have enough money for 4 gauge and it melted the wire with in a week.

This is a very nice amp. I have had it for a while now and have had no problems. Anyone who says that audiobahn is a "flea market brand" should go screw themselves because they don''t know anything. And then they come back and suggest rockford fozgay, and cerwin vega..... i mean come on those brands are what i wipe my ass with. I think audiobahn is a good company with great products for the money. No doubt there are better out there like eclipse but with a restricted budget stick with audiobahn.

Anyone who disses on AudioBahn is in my opinion a complete and total dumbass, Also if you anyone who has a 34 inch sub please let me know? i would like to see it. Name another company with the same proformance to price ratio.

Looks sweet, sounds fine. Make sure you have good power wire (I have a 0 gauge) It allows better power flow, and not one damn bit of engine noise.

Needs lots of juice to work proper. I had my mazda have a jeep alternator put on it, and it is rated at 210 amps. It works fie though. Sometimes you have to go all out for the best.

My goodness this amp is god-like. I am powering two alum 10''s and one propressure 12. 800 rms to the 10''s and 1200 rms to the 12. It hits hard and clean. It''s great! DON''T BE FOOL BY ANYONE AUDIOBAHN IS A GREAT COMPANY. TRY THERE LOWER STUFF FIRST IT''S GREAT AS WELL, THEN WORK YOUR WAY UP TO THE HARD CORE STUFF!

It is beautiful, very very very powerful stronger than any amp that i have ever owned period..

too heavy to get in and out of my car,It wont fit in my pocket,it stretched from my trunk to my front seat, I dont own a trailer to carry it on, I am scared it will give me radiation

this thing is huge, my orion amp was longer but nowhere near as strong. Very impressive.
