Strength:
small size, looks good, low price
Weakness:
absolutely terrible power!!! I cant tell much of a difference with it installed!!! I am very very disapointed with this amp!!! I bought it to push a single 4 ohm fosgate 10" XLC subwoofer, and it just doesn't!!!! I have it bridged to the sub ( so all the so-called 240 watts are to the 10 ) and it barely makes the sub move!!! I have messed with the gains and doesnt really help!! Similar Products Used: i have an MTX Blue Thunder in my other vehicle--it truly rocks compaired to this Alpine!!!! |

If your cds are recorded well and the bass is up front than this amp is suffice, especially for under 150.00 Some of the other reviewers are a little off on the specs. This amp bridged is 120 watts rms @ 14.4 volts. If it were at the higher rated power of 12 volts it would only rate at about 80 watts rms. Half of my cds sound great with this amp and half don't I believe mostly due to the limited recording of bass on many Hard Rock cds. I use this amp just to power my Alpine 10'' box. It'll do till I can afford something better. At least its never overheated like some of the more expensive amps I seen reviewed.
Weakness:
Wish it had 50 watts more power (oh well) to drive my 10'' 200 watt rms Alpine sub. They also could have added a subsonic filter..HaHa... Overall I had no complaints from this amp the 3 months I had it. Again if you look at what you pay for it as long as it does the job till you can buy a real amp then its done its job. Also you won't take such a beating selling it used because you didn't pay much anyway. I feel for the amount it cost its great to power a 8'' or 10'' sub. Also if you listen to Rap, I mean crap, this is a great sub amp. My kids like R&B and Rap and it pounds out the bass on those tracks (because Rap tracks are made to over-emphasize the bass response. Enjoy.... Similar Products Used: I rewally didn't try anything else when I purchased this. I was however looking at cheap amps in catalogs. |

Strength:
size, ease of install
Weakness:
poor quality, put out less power than stated...this i purchased the amp because the speakers i have werent being pushed by my head unit. this amp made no difference at all. if anything, the quality of the signal was worse. i adjusted the gains from one end to the other and it was still bad. i would recommend the v12, but the flex is a poor product Similar Products Used: mtx pro50x2..the mtx blows the alpine away..no comparison |

Strength:
Fairly good amp, powerful for what you pay.
Weakness:
Sure doesn't seem like advertised 240 watts into 4-ohm mono load! Paid $150 canadian. Recomended due to good amp and enough power for a cheap price. Drives 4 speakers well, with fairly good SQ. A bit small to drive subs. Maximum 1 4-ohm 10" subwoofer or a pair of 8" subs. Similar Products Used: Phoenix Gold XS2200 (this amp blows the alpine amp away!, but expect to pay $$$ for it!) |

Strength:
Low price for power output. Clean sound. Drives my sub really well.
Weakness:
weird gain control Great buy. 120 to drive a sub is a great deal. No distortion. I have it bridged and hooked up to my 10" MTX 8000. It hits really hard and doesn't dim the lights. (i have a 55 amp alternator). Good if you just want to add one sub to take the distortion out of your speakers. Similar Products Used: None |
