A/D/S P4100
Strength:
Small size, clean black look, simple appearance
Weakness:
To my knowledge no longer in production. Many are sold online in non-working condition (I've gotten half of my amps online in a non-working condition even though they were promised to be working). I have this amp powering a single ESX 12" sub and it is just fantastic. I had the amp output scoped, and the technician told me it was putting out in excess of 400-500 clean watts. Pretty amazing. I get great performance. Old A/D/S products are notorious for being underrated. Similar Products Used: Orion & Fosgate |

Strength:
Soundquality, low profile design, sophisticated built in crossover
Weakness:
Some of this series and the .2 series have turn off thump problems. Mine had very little of any. This amp is very powerful for a front set of components or a pair of 8 ohm subs. I used this amplifier to power 2 JL 10W3's (175 watts per sub when bridged) and it did very well. I passed through the built in crossover section into my digital crossover so I did not have a chance to experiment with the built in crossover. The built in crossover does provide numerous options and is by ear, one of, if not the best built in car stereo amplifier crossovers on the market. The design is very slim and low profile (very beautiful aesthetically). The power is very clean and very musical. I never had to turn the gains up more than 1/6 of full hilt. When I had this amp's gain turned up to precisely level match the system, the subbass was WAY TOO MUCH. For those bassheads out there, I'm sure it would be just fine. But for the little amount of subbass I need, this amp supplied enough at only 1/6 of the levels up. Overall, the amp is a very solidly built amplifier that I'd expect to last for years. I've since traded this out for a P4100, but if you are looking for a nice and modest sub amp that has finesse and plenty of power to go by for most applications, this is a great amp to go with. Not to mention, this amp would be most applicable for a nice front stage amp, sporting 110 watts per side (plenty of juice and musical power for your hi-end separates). Pat at A/D/S/ is great for customer support and overall, I highly support A/D/S/ products as they will serve most any audio enthusiast for years due to their uncomprised abilities to build speakers, amps, and processors to the highest of standards. Strength:
the power was a definite strenth. it put out alot of watts and it made everything sound good
Weakness:
once in a while it would over heat but not to much. i had a problem with the wire channels at one point and i blew a resistor This amp was phat. it had crazy bass to any speaker i hooked it up to. made 15's as crisp as can be and what it did to my 12's was quite impressive. ive had a few amps in my days but this one was my favorite. to bad it got stolen. i came across another one but i sold it cause i needed the money. Similar Products Used: autotech 800- i prefer the aura. pheonix gold 300 i think. the pheonix was pretty bad ass. but it overheated to much |
