Strength:

Nissan reliability. My last truck was a 1990 Nissan, drove it for over 10 years with no work other than normal maintenance. This is a nice looking truck, comfortable front seats, good power/acceleration (unless you're looking to race, then get super charger). Radio/CD not bad for standard truck stereo. Biggest strength is price. I paid 18,108 ($50 over invoice) then got $100 back from Gomez for buying from Driveoff.com. Had to order and wait 90 days to get truck I wanted thought. Internet Prices have gone up since then but lowering economy should make local dealers more willing to deal.

Weakness:

Mostly nitpicky stuff so far. Blind spot seems a little much. Rear seat belts - receiving ends should've been stiff type to make child seats easier to install. Small glove compartment, Owner's manual barely fits in it. XE manual hard to find, but this typical for Toyotas too. Only major negative is back seat definitely for kids. Six footers stay home. But this is typical for all compact crew cabs. I have a 3 year old and a 4 year old so right up my alley.

Best value for the money of all Crew Cabs on market. To get Tacoma at comparable price must get stripped down truck with 4 cylinder. The nicest thing I can say about the SportTrac is it is overpriced. Biggest negative was finding a truck equipped the way I wanted (XE manual). Local dealers were difficult so I went to Driveoff.com. Took price back to dealer and he said he'd meet it but then tried to tack on $800 worth of fees. I left and never came back. Driveoff experience was ok but not great. They promised delivery by Dec 17 but didn't deliver until Jan 3, then I had to pick it up in Atlanta. Wherever you buy, good truck, great value.

I would recommend this truck to anyone.I`m very satisfied so far.I use it for work mostly.Size is perfect.I realy like the bed extention, even when it`s folded forward .My tools and other cargo are contained.Gauges are clean and easy to read.Engine is peppy and seems to like regular gas better than premium.Tacoma was $2,00 more for same features.I have the 4x2.

"salsa" color, XE, manual.
overall Kicks butt. I have only owned it for 5 days now and every day at least one person stops and checks it out. To the import stuff - gas milage is pretty good for a v6 apx 22mpg. Rides smoother that my 99 s-10 I taded for it. It had just rained today and I took it mudd'n and it rocked!! it floated through ot with out unexpected delay. Handles holes as wide as it is and very deep with out bottoming out. rides smooth for a 4x set up. It just kicks but all around.

Weakness:

gears sometimes difficult to get into. but I think it will just take some getting used to.

Definitly recomend it. Rides great on and off highway. great ride height.

I have yet to have any problems with this truck, it rides good and it looks good. Almost every time I look at it, clean or dirty, I think to myself, " What a good lookin' truck ", and " Wow " its mine. The color I choose is unique, a timber frost, makes it look even better! I think this is a perfect truck for women who don't like big redneck trucks, and you don't need a ladder to get in.

Weakness:

About the only complaint I have for my truck is that it fogs up way to easily, and about the only way I can clear it up is opening the vent to the coldness of the outside. I have tried everything to rid the fog....heat, air conditioning, etc.., if anyone reads this and has a better solution than the cold air, please let me know. It does alot of rattling, but I assume its from the poor roads around here, pot holes and refilled pot holes seem to infect the roads.

Overall I recommend this truck to anyone, especially women, its fit for us.
This truck is NOT made for heavy hauling, so for those who do alot of hauling, I don't recommend this truck for you. My experience with my truck has been a good one, I have til June to decide if I will keep it for good or return it to the dealership with no obligations. I may just go one up and trade for the new 2001 Nissan Crew Cab {supercharged}, they make my mouth water everytime I see one. My Nissan truck is a difinate thumbs up!

Model Reviewed: Nissan Basic Pickup, ShortBed 140K Miles

Strength:

The most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. I have owned this vehicle for over 3 years, it has 140K Miles, and it has been a total blessing. It has helped me get through college with absolutely no problems whatsoever. The A/C is freezing cold, I think they put Pathfinder A/C in this little truck, because on a 100 degree day, you can literally give yourself chills. The A/C is freezing in less that 2 minutes of the truck running! It has the best A/C out of any vehicle I have ever sat in. Very easy to drive, has a lot of power for a 4 cylinder, cheap to drive and maintain. I get about 18-20MPG. Strong Clutch, quiet engine. Just an excellent, reliable, inexpensive truck. Also, it has a good top speed, I've taken mine to 115, and it has decent highway passing power. It has held it value very well too

Weakness:

Some aspects of the interior are a bit cheap. The A/C vents have cracked a bit, I'm 6'4" and the leg room is okay. Steering wheel padding started to crumble, easy fixed with a steering wheel cover. doesn't have bucket seats, not very comfortable on long trips. Minor complaints, but nothing big at all.

sure there are some Ford and chevy owners who are spitting at me right now for complaining about a cracked A/C vent, when they have engine, transmission, and electrical problems, HAHAHAHAHA

Excellent truck for the money. It's cheap to buy, cheap to maintain, and I HIGHLY recommend this truck to anyone looking for a small truck. Nissan is a top quality product, you can't go wrong with this truck

Model Reviewed: , SE Crew 4WD

Strength:

Styling - got in yellow, looks very sharp. Nice ride, good pulling power, sufficient power for a V6, ergonically comfortable for the most part. 6cd in dash changer is nice - good ride height.

Weakness:

A few minor design flaws I've encountered so far. Steering wheel stereo controls and cruise control not illuminated, which makes them useless at night. Center console gets in the way of the cupholders, making it awkward to use them while driving, causing a potential driving hazard. The owners manual doesn't fit in the glove box. Remote for keyless entry has cheap feel to it, feels like I'm gonna break it everytime I press the button

Just bought the 2001 SE Crew Cab 4x4. Only had it 2 days, first 200kms impression is mainly positive.

Very reliable. It was easy on tires and gas and the 5 speed manual always shifted smooth.

Weakness:

The bench seat wore out on the driver's side and had a radiator leak about 160,000 miles. The ride could have been better, she was a little stiff and noisy.

I found this truck very reliable. I drove this truck hard for 10 years before I traded it for a Geo Prizm. Although the Prizm has been great, I still wish I had kept the truck. I had over 180,000 miles on it and it still ran great. I'm ready for another truck and its most likely going to be a Nissan.

Side impact collision absorbtion(sp) really good, leather is excellent feeling, room in back seat is comfortable for me (5'10")

Weakness:

The only thing I can come up with (granted I only had the thing for two days) was that there is a glare at night from the 6-disc indash cd changer in the rear view mirror...but that's being picky.

I think this will be a unique review because two days after I got my truck, it was wrecked. Side impact (passenger) with colliding vehicle traveling approx. 25-30 mph. The car struck another car first, then my truck. Damage was done to the front axle (broken) and dents and scrapes all along the passenger side of the car. Rear tire was flat, and the other car (Acura Integra) was underneath the rear of my truck at the end of the collision. Just got an estimate today...$6,115. I was the only person in the vehicle, and I bumped my shoulder pretty hard, but that was it. I have the leather package and really enjoyed my car for the first two days. I recommend it totally! Send me an email if you are interested in more information.

rear space...not enough power...top speed...fake leather,its really vinyl...

I've got to say, this truck gets the looks.I'm dissapointed of the turning radius. The supercharger seems to get very hot.I can hear it at times trying to cool down, while I'm driving.I had to change the stock fosgate speakers to some Kenwoods. Also put in 7X10 inch speakers in the very back...got an idea to put two 10's back there.I was very dissapointed with the supercharger at first, but I realized it just needs to be broken into to get the power were all looking for.Up and down antenna would had been nice.Gas sucks.Literally.Still looking for some aftermarket stuff, like lowering kits, strut bar, shocks, rims??,and probably a hard bed cover...I've seen you snug top frontiers...totally not recomended on my behalf... maybe i should've gotten a infinity j30 touring car...i could have sooped that lil' puppy up..fo'sho..
