FRONTIER CREW CAB 2WD
Strength:
DECENT AMOUNT OF ROOM FOR A SMALL TRUCK. DECENT ALL THE WAY AROUND,GOOD VALUE.ATTRACTIVE PRICE(UNDER $20,000)
Weakness:
COULD USE A LITTLE MORE POWER. I RACE MOTOCROSS,BIKE DOES FIT BARELY BUT A LITTLE MORE BED WOULD BE NICE.2001 FRONTIERS WILL HAVE A NEW BODY STYLE,MAKING MINE KINDA OLD ALREADY.NOT A LOT OF AFTERMARKET ACCESSORIES AVAILABLE. MORE POWER WOULD'NT HURT. I PAID ABOUT $17,500, TRY AND FIND ANY OTHER BRANDS WITH LOW PRICES FOR WHAT YOU GET WITH THIS TRUCK. NOT GREAT IN ANY ONE AREA BUT AS A PACKAGE PRETTY GOOD. 31-10.50 TIRES WILL FIT(ALTHOUGH POWER DOES SUFFER).ALSO SHOULDNT BE HARD TO PUT 'TRUE' DUAL EXHAUST ON IT EITHER. THAT WITH A K&N FILTER SHOULD GET YOU CLOSE TO 200 H.P. THIS IS MY FIRST BRAND NEW TRUCK, AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT.....YOU WILL GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH!!!! Similar Products Used: NOTHING....BUT I DID OWN A '92 F-150 XLT EXT. CAB WITH A 5.8 ENGINE. SO NATURALLY THE GAS MILAGE ON MY FRONTIER IS WORLDS BETTER. I ALSO ENJOY DRIVING MY FRONTIER MORE THAN THE F-150 SO FAR. |

Nissan Frontier CC SE 4x2
Strength:
4 independent front hinged doors with full-down windows. Quiet interior. Nice seats. Good sound system. Bed extender. Roof rack and sunroof available. Nissan made quality.
Weakness:
No leather option. 3.3L V6 can not sprint. Poor brakes, although anti-locks for the front disc and rear drums. Old style headlights. About 16 mpg I got mine in Sand-Dune exterior. Looks great, rides well and overall a great value. I paid almost invoice in late Jan/early Feb, 2000. I would recommend only the Sand-Dune, Silver Ice or Red exterior. Any color lighter/darker would need extra efforts to keep it clean all the time. Similar Products Used: Did not use but compared Tundra/Tacoma |

Frontier,4x4,crew cab
Strength:
Size, four doors, accessories, really like the truck except for a high speed vibration the dealer can't repair.
Weakness:
Not enough power, gas mileage should be better, has highway vibration that the dealer has been unable to repair even after several attempts. Really like the truck if the vibration could be corrected. The drive shaft has been changed and it helped for a couple of weeks. Would like it better with more power and better mileage. I know it's possible because my last Toyota (1996 Tacoma, 4x4) was great in these areas. This would be a great truck for a young family. Similar Products Used: Several Toyotas over past ten years |

Strength:
Has definitely enough power to turn all four tires over, lots of pep. Great truck for offroading and on the road driving.
Weakness:
Very under rated. Also hard to find aftermarket parts for. 98 Frontier 4x4 |

Strength:
Finally enough space in a compact pickup. 2 adults really can ride in the rear seat. Probably not senior citizens or basketball players, but otherwise it works.
Weakness:
Weak Dealer Network I tried to buy one, but the dealers were too difficult. Kept getting the run around - I can get one, no I can't, I'll sell at invoice, no I mean $500 over invoice. Walked down the street and bought a new Rodeo for 3500 below invoice and am glad that Nissan dealers were so difficult, because ended up with way more car. If you like it, but it, but only if you can find a dealer who's not a turkey. Similar Products Used: I've owned a 90 Nissan PU for 10 years, and liked it fine. |

Nissan CrewCab SE
Strength:
Original.First compact crew cab.
Weakness:
Underpowered ( maybe too heavy for the 3.3L engine 4,200). Not enough space for feet- mine is 5 speed and I do not have space to rest my left foot; DO YOU READ THIS NISSAN? I paid $600 over the invoice ( see carpoint.com); waited 90 days because the production was just starting; I started using it on 9/01/99 but is a 2000 model. I paid it in full but I am not happy( see above). Also the mileage is " nothing to write home about" probably because of the ANCIENT engine; Nissan is attempting to save money be using the same obsolete engine. Not bad over all but looks a little on the cheaply made side. My advice: be careful before you buy... Similar Products Used: Ranger Super cab 4.0L engine with 5 speed; excllent torque and power |

John Miner
Strength:
This is the third year for the new Frontier. The frame is top notch fully welded box steel runs the length of the vehilce. The door has three gasket seals so what are the car guys complaining of road noise (lexus driving suits?) the int is as good as the chicks Infiniti same guage as the G20, the bench seats are too utilitarian, wiper light controls are fine well placed, stereo is just OK all speakers 4 below average, cup holders hold cups all sizes brakes are not broken in but should be above average not below. The engines on nissan or infiniti products are the best out there so this is a given area of concern. This is 143hp 4-cyl. and and unusaul Auto this works well now so when broken in should have enough pep. and then the stick should of course have decent pep which goes against the reports. the steering is very car like off ramps at 45-50 (not recommend,as I teach emergency driving to paramedics) handled well without a false sense of confidence. Looks basic this is a 10,000 $ vehicle not 30,000$ but 15000$ value. If you do buy e-mail and I'll give you the inside purchase plan info this is a great buy right now.
Weakness:
For the value none Like I said the bench seat is not that good below average works though. Best buy. many hot chilis to all the Mtb out there Similar Products Used: Every truck except toyota |
