Strength:

looks very very nice easy to customize hence mine is dun to the nuts very easy to work on (good thing too) very comfy prfect size extra cab

Weakness:

very poor turning radius i do mean bad motor is a hunk of junk only 130,000 km and already had a rebuild ( cam was shot, needed lifters, needed rings ,needed valve stem seals, bearings were good though) i find it has poor gas mileage despite the motor being brand new and all trouble shifting into first especially when cold. a bit of rust on the inside floor of the box but not bad

well i love my truck but if i were to buy another i think i would buy a 2600 4x4 instead i think that mazda is a less reliable vehicle than other jap imports like toy or nissan but i also think that they are very easy to fix. not a lot of dumb engineering ( i replaced a clutch on my sonoma and i had to take the exaust off to get the tranny out i hate when u have to do things like that because some monkey engineer was putting the final touches on a vehicle 2 minutes to 5 friday afternoon)

Strength:

Sturdy, comfortable interior, fun to drive

Weakness:

weak acceleration, loud engine noise, very bad manufacture's tires

Just got it 2 days ago, brand new. I've read so many great reviews about this pickup, so I'm hoping it'll turn out to be as good as I expected. Although I haven't driven it long enough to give a fair review but so far I already have some comments. First of all, its manufacture tires by Firestone really suck. It skids on even the slightest bums on the road. So I'm taking it in to have all 4 wheels replaced with Michelin (bigger and wider tires). The engine makes loud and inconsistent noises while driving on city streets. But it drives pretty smooth and quiet on freeways. Lack of acceleration speed and power, but it picks up pretty well once it goes beyond 60mph.

Engine will never die, great visibility and headroom, great mpg for its size, durable body

Weakness:

poor turn radius, bumpers somewhat flimsy

Extremely durable truck, the motor has average power, but almost never needed repairs the entire time I owned it. With care the interior still looks brand new, and though the paint faded, it never peeled off, no rust, nothing.

Strength:

has the coldest air conditioning I ever felt, all options have always worked, great looking trucks ,easy to work on,can't wait to turn these over to my kids.

Weakness:

they are both under powered, and gas mileage for both has never been higher than 21 mpg highway and 19 mpg city, even though they are garage kept the paint still has faded and peeled.

have owned both the 2600 and 2200 since new, purchased from dealer, have over 90,000 miles on both, the 2600 is 4x4 regular cab fully loaded with automatic tranny, this thing has been great, only asks for normal maintence, wish there was more power from the little 4-cyl. the 2200 is a cab + fully loaded with automatic tranny, great for hauling all our camping gear.
have done all the maintence that is required on both and they are parked in the garage unless used. I would give both of these pickups 5 stars on everything. these trucks are for the person who wants to get there comfortably .they will last a lifetime as they seem to be bullet proof, never had any problems that were not easily fixed, warranty work was only for bad ABS sensor mazda dealer was great to work with. one cannot expect these trucks to blow the dust off of any car they pass as they are slow from a stand still but they will last a lifetime.

they rank up there with my 84 ford ranger 4x4 automatic tranny as far as ride and reliability, but the 2.8lt v-6 of the ranger is 5 times stronger and better gas mileage.

Strength:

Solid, Dependable, Well designed

Weakness:

Slow, Bad on gas, expensive parts, hard to find parts.

So far she has been good to me, The truck is a little weak from a perfomance aspect but if driven right can perform with the 4 cylinder toyota's of the same year. Overall pretty reliable it has over 350 000 Km and still runs pretty smooth. The only complaints are its poor gas mileage and the work needed to keep the rust at bay. Otherwise it is definitely a better choice over ford or other competitors.
I would recommend that anyone who is looking for a good reliable truck buy it over some of its competitors. Expect to have it mistaken for a Toyota time and time again.

Strength:

Good interior room.
Peppy engine.
reliable.
looks.
easy to work on.

Weakness:

poor gas mileage for a 4-banger
Engine knocks in hot weather unless you burn 92.
Paint has faded on the hood and roof.
Jumper seats are worthless except for children. Even then the seat belts don't tighten enough and kids hit their heads on the plastic molding on acceleration.

A very reliable truck. With the Cab+ my 6'6" frame was comfortable even on long trips. With a shell on it and the Cab+ space I could really load a lot of camping gear in it. I have 153K miles on it now and still have the original clutch. The engine uses a couple of quarts every 3000 miles. I added fog lights, shell, carpet kit, modular rims and wide tires. this truck still gets looks from people. these trucks are well built and very reliable. Although I recommend the 2.2L engine as it gets better mileage and doesn't seem to have the knocking problem.

Strength:

Smooth ride, pretty versatile offroad, easy switch to 4X4, looks.

Weakness:

Gas mileage in the city bites, and this darn overheating issue.

I love this truck, although as with all matters of the heart theres the possibility of overlooking negative aspects. On the whole, I'd say these are pretty reliable vehicles .. worth the money. Mine has 200,000 km's now and certain things will soon require attention. Theres an infrequent overheating taking place, and I think the shocks are nearing the end of their life. Otherwise theres little rust and the engine seals are still holding together. Another worsening problem is steering play due to a worn steering box.

Toyota pickup. The toyota has more robust suspension but the mazda offers a MUCH smoother ride offroad.

style, PRICE!!!, and handling

Weakness:

power, and those firestone tires slipping on anything (soon to be replaced)

so far so good. This little truck is underpowered however, and sometimes when you really get on it, the third gear grinds. Besides the clicking when you stop hard, this has been a very dependable and reliable truck.

The room in the cab is good enough for a killer sound system that I put in. I like the 4x4 feature, I stuck some mudders on and I go in some mud lakes. It has quite alot of power for the size engine that is in it.

Weakness:

It sucks gas like nuthing else I have ever had. I get 11-12 miles per gallon. Can anyone help me??? If so my email is ajoses81@iwon.com tell me how to remedie this problem please.

It is a good truck. I have had it for about 8 months now and it has lasted with a good tune-up every now and then. I am going to keep this truck for a very long time. It has a 2.6l 165hp. The only problem is that I can't find very cheap parts for it.

Strength:

Sturdy, stylish, built high off the ground, good performance, gas mileage not to bad. With the standard options this truck was a deal.

Weakness:

Could use a little more pick up. The matts need to be redesigned.

I am very happy with the purchase, It is a very nice looking sporty truck, the only one at this moment in Sierra Vista. I was impressed with the size, not to big or small. The interior is perfect and not as noisy as some high priced cars I have ridden in. It is very stylish and compared to the Ford ranger, and other mid sized trucks the value was a better deal. I was surprised at one problem I read in the other review, the trouble with the floor mats, I discovered this also. The drivers side matt has two plastic screw type device that have no where to go, I was not satisfied with the dealers point of view to just drill holes and insert them into the floor, felt like he kind of blew it off. But like the other customer I do see that as a safety issue, other then that my experience with the dealer and my truck was overall very high.
