Ram Wagon 350 15 pass.
Strength:
We got this vehicle used with 20,000 miles and two years. The paint has been awful since we bought it and is completely govne from the roof. The engine has been relaiable, but everything else is cheap and rickety. The side window latches oin the sliding door catch when it slides, onehas brokenoff. The door seals all leak, which is terrible in cold weather. The front heat and A/c worked, although when theyy gave out in 1997 it was impossible to get the thing repaired. Rear heat and a/c never really worked. The cooling system has failed several times, both thermostat sticking and other problems. the seats are hard to remove and reinstall. The rear opening is 49 inches wide, but you can't get a48 inch bookcase in because the single large rear door blocks the way- get the couble doors ifyou can. The radoi is junk, the speakers ratle.
Weakness:
paint these seem much more expensive today- about $20,000. Don't do it. Similar Products Used:

Good looks, good pricing, and it feels well built.
Weakness:
Hard to park and bag gas, but you should know that before you buy it. After I brought it home and gave my new van a good wash I noticed a hole in the roof. The convertion company (Glavel) whenscrewing in the sun visor used screws a little bit to long. I had to dent it back to get fixed. I am not to happy about a two week old car that has to get the roof repainted. Please inspect the convertion very good before you buy.So far I like the feel of this van. Ram Wagon 3500, 12 passenger
Strength:
Room for lots of folks and gear. Good visibility and handling. Dependable engine and transmission (so far).
Weakness:
Shoddy workmanship, poor dealer service, Grossly underbraked. Low fuel economy. We have had this vehicle for 5 years and have worked it hard. It is roomy and great on long trips. It does well off-pavement, but don't try jeep trails. We have not ever been stranded on any of our trips (contrary to using our Ford van which broke down EVERY SINGLE time we went out of town). My biggest complaints for this vehicle are: Extremely large turning radius: like an aircraft carrier. Shoddy workmanship: Our sliding door has broken many times and the dealer seems totally unable to repair this; many small things break or fall off to our constant annoyance. Dealer repairs on many things are wholly unsatisfactory or worthless. And, the biggest complaint: The brake design is wholly unsatisfactory. We have only 89,000 miles and have had to replace brakes, drums, rotors etc, FOUR times at $750-$1200 an episode. If Dodge had any detectable quality control for this vehicle or anything resembling capable service, I would recommend it. However, it is better than our Ford experience, and the engine and transmission have so far been wholly reliable. Similar Products Used: Ford Econoline Van (Worst auto experience on planet). |

ram 3500 15 passenger
Strength:
It has no traction on dry coarse pavement,it has the 5.9 litre 360 v8,it has good gas milage. About 12 in city and 16 rock crawling,it is fun to burn tires iver the rocks with all of our friends and we laugh our heads off because it looks so dumb.
Weakness:
nothing much except it has to much glass we didnt buy it,our friend rodgee lent it to us then we decided to keep it(rodgee had nasty hair grease and when our mom cut his hair dandruff the size of quarters rand down my moms fingers and his teeth has nasty junk in between them)anyway I recommend this van for rock crawling lovers because it can fit alot of people and plus its fun.It is even better with the 4.10 limited slip rear axle and the freaking thing still breaks traction too easily and it will powerbrake anywhwere, anytime, anyplace especially on real slick wet pavement. The rear end of the 15 passenger van will do s marks, if it is too slick.Fully loaded of gregs and dillons and our friends that are fat and obese in the back for added traction.(by the way rodgee loves gold panning and has four new hoe's at ynx creek.the reason why im taking out the l's is that rodgee cant say them.He loves his toos and is imortal because he fell three stories and didnt die!!! and he also fell of a cliff and landed on a guard rail on his back and it went into a v shape.since he doesnt feel pain his friend vern felt the pain while fixing a tv and said oucccchhhhhh and started to roll around on the ground screaming in horrific pain as the pollock fishing at rogees favrite lake felt the pain and he screamed aahhhhhhhhhhh and jumped in the water because it hurt so bad and drowned and that was the end of that pain for now. Weakness:
Gas milage - 14mpg overall. folks wanted to borrow it frequently. would recommend - We are still driving it... 153,000 miles.. we bought it when it had 26,000mi. It has never let me down. Dodge Ram Van Mark III
Strength:
For a van it handles very well, more like a car than a truck.
Weakness:
Gas mileage is around 15-16 HWY My van has been very reliable. It has never left my family sitting anywhere. The gas mileage leaves a little bit to be desired, but then again I don't have overdrive. I have a 6 cylinder and it is pretty peppy. I removed the seat on the passenger side where the doors open so we have lots of room to get the children in and out, as well as more groceries. I am impressed with how tight the van is. It is very quiet and there aren't any squeaks and strange sounds. We would buy another one if we needed it. The A/C is too cold though and the heat too hot, but this is a good thing. Similar Products Used: None |

Power, room and value.
Weakness:
Fuel useage, jounce and rebound in the front suspension. This van is a excellent deal. It works hard pulling my trailer, and our kids love the room in the back with 2 large bench seats. For a mini van price you get 2 times the vehicle. The 5.2 liter engine is a good choice for normal daily driving and for recretional towing. If you need the extra power the 5.9 liter is great for towing, excpecially when taking off from a stop, but the fuel mileage penality seems to great for a daily driver. The 5.2 gets 15 to 16 mpg in combo city highway which seems good to me. Towing mileage drops to 8 to 10 mpg. Tire wear is a issue that can be corrected with frequent rotating of the tires which is no big deal. The front suspension is a bit bouncy under certain conditions. I have not had any problems with the truck runs great hot or cold transmission shifts good and no front end or handling issues. I did not want a conversion van since there quality is not up to Chrysler engineering standards, but the window van is all Chrysler and it will hold up to years of use. Similar Products Used: None |

Ram 1500 ConV MarkIII LWB 5.9L
Strength:
Affordable luxury, good looking unlike the mars lander chevy makes, powerful V8, fun to ride in the back with the view and the entertainment system w/headphones.
Weakness:
Likes gas stations and service stations too much. A/C doesn't do the job while parked. arm rests are poorly made. Rears are a serious issue for Dodge, ask any service tech. Looked at many converters and MarkIII was most attractive, but no more. Wonderful for long trips. 16mpg across the country at 80mph all the way. Tows a 3 ton RV without any problem. Had our share of problems, ate the Goodyear Invicta's it came with in 13000 miles. Dealer replaced free with Michelin LTX which are running great. MarkIII is bankrupt and dealer no longer services MarkIII which is now a problem, luckily all MarkIII issues were corrected. Rear Diff. is a problem, replced ring&pinion twice and is now in for the posi to be replced. If you own one of these and hear high pitch from rear at higher speeds, it's your ring&pinion needing replcement. A whining noise at slow speeds and turning is your posi-bad. Noise at 55 that stops at 70 is your ring&pinion also. Heavy clunking on sharp turns up front is in the struts - service bulletin has corrective service - tell dealer to look it up. Buy in late Oct. or Nov., we saved 10K off sticker price. Good vehicle, just make sure it doesn't have GY Invicta tires and pay attention to noises while under 3year warranty, powertrain warranty may be extendable to 7years for a fee.
