those mentioned above

Weakness:

gas mileage: v-6 gets 14-16 best. My son has a 2000 jeep cherokee with the I-6 (4.0), auto, 4x4 and it walks all over it in performance and milage.

good midsized unit - not a toyota or a fullsize. interior room, ride, handling all good. the 3.9 v-6, needs 30 more HP -anyone got any ideas? I convereted to a K&N air system and it helped some or just sounds a better. The gears are 3.9 with limited slip, auto trans, 4x4

This unit had sat on the dealers lot for 16 months before I bought it, resulting in a good buy. Could not get the 4.7 even close to this price.

Strength:

Looks good and smells good. Haven't tried yet but it may taste good.

Weakness:

After 2 weeks had to bring it back to get the transmission adjusted and the computer re-programmed. 1 month later truck wouldn't start int damp weather had to have the ignition wires changed they were cracked. Engine has been knocking for about a year now and Dealer says it is normal and to bring it back when it gets worse (basically they have no clue what the hell is wrong) Front rotars and pads had to be replaced at 30,000km. Engine light came on and minutes l8r the truck died. Needed a new map sensor and O2 sensor. This truck also idles rough and stalls often. And out of a full tank of gas I'm getting a whopping 450km. And my major complaint....been to 3 different dealerships and none of them seem to know what customer service means. This actually has me looking at a KIA SUV...damn you Dodge..DAMN YOU!!!!

One hell of a paper weight!!! folks if you got a ton of paper you need to make stationary slam one of these badboys on top cuz thats all its good for.

Strength:

Great gas mileage, smooth ride, awesome styling, roomy cab, incredibly easy to service and work on.

Weakness:

The steering wheel blocks the driver's view of every single guage, the tach, the speedometer and the turn signal and high beam indicators.

I love this truck. In spite of the fact that all the reviews say it is underpowered with the 4, I bought the 4 anyway. I get great gas mileage (23mpg average) and don't find it at all underpowered. Merging onto freeways and passing is not a problem, nor is prolonged high-speed cruising (70 to 80mph). I use the truck for camping and light hauling, and it does everything I want it to very well. The size is perfect for a light-duty truck, and the styling is the best of any truck anywhere.

Strength:

4.7 engine(lots of power, not bad on gas for a 4 X 4), Infiniti sound system sounds great, looks, dependable.

Weakness:

comes with Goodyear tires(junk), sun visor wont stay up(dealer has ordered new one), no remote control for mirrors unless you order power ones

Awesome truck! Best looking truck on the road. More than enough power, if not too much--this thing will kick the back end sideways like nothing. I havent seen too many Chevs or Fords that will. This truck will do anything a full size will do and maybe better.

Strength:

The whole thing

Weakness:

The seats don't hold you as tight as I might like in the corners

Awsome Truck! It is a 2001 Dakota Quad Cab V8 with all the bells and whistles. I used to have a R/T which was sweet but needed the room of the quad cab for the kids.

Strength:

probably the V8 is my favorite part about the truck.the interior is very comfy to drive in as well.the breaks so far are great for me.my last vehicle was a 4runner and those breaks were scarey.

Weakness:

the only weakness i notice isn't even the truck it's my lack of being able to park this darn thing.

i love it.it rides so smooth and the v8 is fantastic.i just wish i could find out how much the truck can pull.my manual does not tell me.anyone know this info? someone wrote they did not like the decals on the side of their truck.i removed all the decals and it looks clean and sweet.

Strength:

v8 power, aggressive appearance, seating for 6,

Weakness:

don't like the look of the 4x4 decals on the side of the bed.

This truck is a gem! I wasn't so sure about Dodges because of what I've heard some people say, but I noticed so many new Dodge trucks all around town that I decided to test drive one. No regrets at all, the v8 has a nice deep tone and it hauls as... well as can be! I have to say I'm surprised how well thought out the truck is, the interior is nicely done, and the exterior speaks for itself. Even lifting the hood has a quality feel to it!

Ride and styling. The 6 foot bed on the SXT crew cab is great for hauling .Looks ,Looks .

Weakness:

Tranmission leaks even after two dealer visits.Front rotors warped around 20,000k (Dodge will not fix this problem which is common on this truck ).Bad gas mileage .

The basic concept of a mid size truck appeals to a lot of people. The truck rides and handles very much like a car. The looks of the Dakota set it apart. There are some mechnical problems however that may sour me on future purchases.

Model Reviewed: Dakota Quad Cab 4x4 AWD

Strength:

Electronic switch for 4x4 and roomy quad cab. Great ride. Strong performance from 4.7L V8. I am able to get over 20mpg on long trips. That was a shocker but this is killer, get this: the Goodyear Wrangler RT/S stock tires that they put on, I have over 83,000 miles on them. I am shooting for 100,000 miles to get some BFG's. I didn't baby the tires by any means. Go, go, go!

Weakness:

Brakes are pathetic. Rotors warped at 15G miles. Turned again at 40G and replaced at 50G. So far ok but due to change again soon. Happened to my 98 Dakota as well. Blew out the ball joints (no grease zerts) on the right side and the left were shot too. Were replaced by warranty afer fighting tooth & nail. Dealership backed me to get the warranty company to cover damage. They won my business for the future. Ball joints & brakes, BAD!!!

Overall great truck with some exceptions. This is the second Dakota that I have purchased from that dealership. Service is great and they work with their customers. I upgraded from a 98 4x4 club cab to the Quad AWD without test driving because I was that confident and didn't notice all the features until I got home (such as heated mirrors, overhead console, etc.). I just wanted it due to 4x4 Quad Cab and CD/Cass.
