AWD "B" Package
Strength:
Great handling - Solid feel - Good power and acceleration.
Weakness:
Worried about the leather being too soft and may not last. Sound system weak. Yes back window does generate irratating wind noise - guess what? I don't roll it down when driving - my Sienna didn't have back windows that could roll down. I love my Highlander. Bought the "B" package with leather. Vehicle has impressive interior. More room than the Lexus and looks just as elegant. Handles great and good turning radius. Plenty of power and sticks to the road like glue. Driven it in snow storms and loved the control - total confidence on the road. Gas mileage as good as my previous Sienna. Get about 9km per litre. Would highly reccommend this vehicle. Easy to drive. Reliable. Comfortable.
Weakness:
No sign shows if the doors are locked and in the dark the lock button has no light. You have to feel it while driving. The metor for speed jump from 20 to 40. If you want to drive on 35? Guess youself! Great car. Smoooooooooth, quiet!! |

Strength:
looks, solid design, roominess, smooth ride, very smooth ride
Weakness:
wind noise, a little hesitation upon acceleration. otherwise no weaknesses I wrote a review on Feb 28. Maybe I was a little harsh in my analysis. Since that time, my wife drove my car several times, but insisted that she wanted a sequoia. after several test drives of the sequoia, pilot, murano etc., she finally agreed w/me that the sequoia was way too much car for our/her needs, that the murano was a flash in the pan, and that the pilot was overpriced and the dealers were very arrogant. Imagine that a car salesman being arrogant. she bought a highlander ltd. It, like my more plebian hl, is excellent. I still do not like the wind problem, but how often do you drive w/just the back windows down? Overall, this is a fine suv. Similar Products Used: pilot sequoia murano |

/TOYOTA HIGHLAND FWD
Strength:
It handle better than my Altima. Brake and steeling are lighter than other SUV that I have tested. Very good Milage, It give me an actual city 26MPG. Easy to reach control panel. Highly recommanded.
Weakness:
Wind noise are very high wit rear window rolled down. Not much options available unless buying their whole package. I broughtthe FWD version, it is only 2.4L but the accelaration is good enough. I drove it up a ski mountain on a heavy snowing day, it gave enough power to go with 5 people on. It handle very good dry or snow. I try to add on the factory fog lamp but it cost CAD900.00(too expensive). should come with as standard. |

Strength:
Good Gas Mileage! Sporty design, well-made. Drives like a car rather than a truck. Good Visibility, no blind-spots.
Weakness:
Brakes! The braking system should be better. More standard features should be available, every extra gets costly. This is a great car! The gas mileage is great which was one of the downsides to the other SUVs I looked at. Sporty, I love it! Similar Products Used: 99 Ford Mustang, 00 Pontiac Firebird, 95 Mit. Highlander
Strength:
Good build quality, interior materials are good quality, good power (V6), plenty of room, nice little features here and there that are unadverised. Ride is the nicest part; very unlike a truck and more comparable to a car (built of Camry platform so it makes sense).
Weakness:
A much darker interior should be available, digital overhead console should be at least an option, base stereo (and even the upgraded JBL system) could be a lot better. If you are a serious off-roader, this is NOT the SUV for you. Price jumps high on the limited model for many only so-so options i.e. not worth the extra money in my opinion. Fantastic car! Only have had it for a short time, but compared to other vehicles of the same nature I've owned, this one is fabulous. Good build quality, great ride, and an excellent commuter/weekender overall. Highly recommended to anyone who needs an SUV who is NOT a serious off-road enthusiast. Similar Products Used: Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chevy Blazer (horrible), Acura RSX, Ford Explorer. |

Toyota Highlander Limited 4X4
Strength:
Rides like a luxury car, not a truck. The rich interior, all the power goodies are well-placed and easy to use, the fit and finish are outstanding. I even love the large outside, power, heated mirrors. The ride and handling are outstanding.
Weakness:
Haven't found any. Before spending $34,000, I looked it over very thoroughly. I didn't know this vehicle existed until I saw it at the Cleveland Auto Show. I never considered buying a Toyota. As we walked through all the cars, my wife and I spotted this Limited, got in and said "This is nice!" We did a LOT of homework on the Internet before test-driving one. The car impressed me enough to get me to buy everything I said I'd never buy: an SUV, full power, leather seats. I love the car, but I'm really pissed about the noise and pressure when the back windows are rolled down. Toyota suggests to crack the front windows. That only alleviates the problem somewhat. The pressure feels like your descending on a plane and you have a cold. My sunroof has some pressure issues as well. I'm considering arbitration with Toyota.
