Strength:
Versatility, manuverability, comfort, visability, 5 speed auto transmission, low rpms at highway speeds, reasonable gas milage, sound system.
Weakness:
Rated for 1500 lbs towning capacity, sunroof does not have built-in cover(what's up with that?), rear seat rated for only 2 people, not enough storage.
I love this little suv!!! I am in my 60's and this is by far the most useful and enjoyable rig so far. It is used every day as a commuter vehicle and it is comfortable, economical, and a joy to drive. I have read other reviews that say it is none of these things and I wonder if they are talking about an Element or just blowing smoke. There is a huge amount of room im a very small package. Talk about versatility; carry grandkids, lumber, bulky items, camping stuff, bikes, and so on. Seats up, seats down, or seats out. Drive on the beach (tires at 15 psi) or through the snow with ease. Easy to drive, I find changing lanes safe because of the higher seating and excellent visiblity. The Ellie turns on a dime. Cruises the freeway at 75 and parks in the tightest of spaces. Whats not to like? It is not a perfect vehicle but suits me fine. Has a great sound system and I am hooked on the satellite radio. It does have a bit of road noise (not more than other cars I have been in) so we purchased a carpet kit that really dampened the noise and looks great. The bare floors are an advantage to some but not for us. Good grief, this sounds like a commercial but it's not. I really appreciate this car. Gas milage varies from 23 mpg to 27 mpg depending on how aggressive I feel. The clamshell doors are a great benefit most of the time. The little floor consol is useless so we purchased an armrest-high consol with mounted cup holders which should be made standard. Honda Element EX
Strength:
Great head and leg room, very easy to clean.
Weakness:
Would be nice if the element also came in a 6 cyc and with a 5th seat. Love this vechicle. People who love the outdoors will love this truck. I conside it a truck, because it will haul just about anything. The sound system is great!!! Although hard to hear when windows are down. My husband talked me into buying this vehicle, I was looking at the CR-V. But after the test drive, I was sold. |

Honda Element EX 4WD
Strength:
Easy Clean and Highly Versatile Interior
Weakness:
A V6 would be very nice or a turbo-4cyl.
When I first seen this vehicle I thought it was the ugliest thing that was ever made. But when I went to the Honda Dealer I cheacked one out and fell in love with it. The outside looks grow on you. It was between the new CR-V or the Element. And I am glad of the choice I made. Yes I would have liked a 5th passenger seat, but all the other things this car can do completly beats the 5th seat. I have stuffed so much stuff in this car, you would not belive. After going mountain biking ican wash out all the mud and dirt with ease. And camping in it is excellent. It can only handle mild off-roading. All in all, I love this car! I don't think that I could ever get a different one! |

Element EX
Strength:
Reliable. Not a single repair in 2.5 years. Just oil changes. Good visibility, sood gas milage, great sound, instrument layout very smart.
Weakness:
V6 would be nice. None otherwise. I bought my Element in July 2005, it had 20000 miles on it from the previous owner. He took good care of it because the car was basically new. The car is amazing. Has enough power, acceleration, awsome sound and subwoofer. I slept in it on my trip to San Diego. You can hose down the floor. It is the best deal for your money. Honda Element
Strength:
SUPER easy to clean out (leaf blower). Seats are comfy for being water-proof. Very fun design/style. Turning radius is astounding. Love Love Love how easy it is to reconfigure the back seats. Gas mileage is pretty decent considering you are driving a toaster on wheels. Tons of convenient storage. Rides pretty smooth for an SUV. If you transition from a car to an Element, it will feel like you are driving a tank (I think this is a good thing)
Weakness:
No carpet=more cleaning because you can't hide the dirt, no floor mats, cupholders are inconvenient. While cool, the sunroof is kind of moronic. People sitting in the backseat cant see out the windshield very well. Backseat passengers kind of have some difficulty getting out. I love this car! Yes, there are a few caveats, but definitely a great car for the money. If you are lead a busy lifestyle (with no children) this car is a great decision. Similar Products Used: 2001 Impala |

EX AWD
Strength:
Fun to drive, excellent traction, good power for 4cyl. Excellent sound system. Excellent seating room front and back, excellent cargo space. Reclinable/foldable/removeable rear seats are excellent. Lots of cool storage spaces in doors and dash.
Weakness:
Clamshell doors - if in a tight parking lot and need to get people in the back, it is nearly impossible to get in/out without difficulty. Should consider a 4 door model option. Also, sunroof on rear is a nice touch, buy why Honday didn't add a toneau/retractable cover like just about any other sunroof?? Big oversight...you can buy a shade but it looks silly and doesn't block out all light. Also, rear seat could be made 60/40 to accomodate 5th passenger. A good vehicle for outdoor enthusiasts with balance of fuel economy (21-23 MPG in town, 23-25 MPG highway). Not a good vehicle for family with children.
