Strength:

Power, Space, ability to transport 8 people and cargo. I have taken people on long trips and this vehicle makes it nice since you don't have to sit elbow to elbow. Driving up to Mammoth is quite easy as this SUV will pulll up the hill with no hesitation

Weakness:

gas mileage,

Paid $32,000 - Not cheap by any means, but if you want lots of power for climbing hills this vehicle will do it for you. Also you can carry all your toys in comfort. Highly recommended if you can afford the gas.

I like it better than the 86 Blazer that I owned. More power and space.

Strength:

The color.

Weakness:

Roof racks leak, AC won't work after 3 trips to shop, dome lights don't work, lousy gas mileage, 4WD doesn't kick in for quite a distance, if you are already stuck, forget it...My minivan is better is snow than this. It gets stuck on a piece of dog#$%^.
Doors are too heavy for the kids to open and close, especially on a hill.

I wouldn't recommend this vehicle. I wish I never bought it. The car cost over 24,000, and I can't wait to pay it off. I would trade it but would lose too much money.

1986 Bronco. My Bronco was much better in snow than the Suburban, and got further on a tank of gas. Also fit into parking spaces/garages better

Strength:

Nice and roomy. Very dependable so far. Seperate rear controls for a/c-heat is handy. Great in the snow.

Weakness:

very expensive on gas! lots of cheap plastic on the dash board. Have had glove box, ashtray, and fuse box all break and had to replace. One switch for the power windows went out, easy to fix not too costly. overall a good vehicle.

Good vehicle for taking long trips with children. Lots of room to put items for camping etc. I have put alot of miles on it and never had a problem with the motor. Lacks a little in the power when passing. Mine is a '94. Looks cool with all the little "extras" like brush guard and running boards.

Strength:

Excellent steering, cloud like ride, easy to maneuver into parking spaces, handy rear A/C, tons of storage space.

Weakness:

It can be a bit costly to fill up the gas tank, but I would not let that get in the way of these great vehicles.

This vehicle is WONDERFUL. This is our first Suburban and surely will not be the last. It was purchased new with every available option. So far, everything has worked flawlessly. The available Cellular phone is placed at the most convenient location and the OnStar system has worked out quite well. The leather seats are inviting at any time of the day and with a full tank of gas, I could drive this vehicle for hours on end. These are truly classy vehicles and I would recommend them to anyone.

We have always previously owned Ford products. While they were very faithful to us, this offers a much smoother ride, more storage space and more passenger room.

Strength:

Secure feeling of the vehicle. Leather interior is nice. Space is unbelievable. King of the Road feeling is great!

Weakness:

Gas mileage could be better, but my modifications have helped that by a couple mpg. And realistically you can't have a vehicle this big and safe and expect subcompact gas mileage!

Third seat can be tricky to get into. I just leave the part of the 2nd seat folded down unless I need that seating.

With an expanding family, I needed to get a bigger vehicle. After doing the research on SUV's with a 3rd seat, I eliminated the Dodge Durango (safety issues, lack of room, and gas mileage). I looked at Suburbans and Expeditions. Quite simply there is no comparison.

I am extremely happy with the Suburban. Shortly after purchasing it I installed an AirAid Air Intake system with a K&N filter and the PowerAid throttle body spacer (www.airaid.com). On a recent trip to North Carolina I got almost 19 mpg with a fully loaded vehicle, including stuff packed on the roof rack.

There is no comparable vehicle. This sets the standard

Strength:

The available power and the comfort factor are definite high points.

Weakness:

The weight factor makes a ride in the mud an iffy proposition.

Found out this guy was selling a 1998 for 10,000 cdn.It had high mileage
from four trips to Florida ( highway miles on a big 8 is good news).
Have had to replace the fuel pump and have a short somewhere that blows out the power door locks, but overall I am in love with my suburban.
I have never felt so safe in a vehicle!
The size is a bit daunting at first, but the cargo room and the passenger room is fantastic. After a 10 hour drive to get to a major town,I no longer feel as if I have been through the ringer.
This may well be the ultimate family vehicle and would be the obvious choice for people in the maintenance industries, as they can be comfortable and still have room for all their tools and parts.

Similar Products Used:

I have used a lot of pick-ups and none compare on the overall comfort of ride and convenience of basically a full size pick-up with a full size roof!
