Strength:
Nice drive when brakes are not applied.
Weakness:
See above review. We bought a lemon with the new MDX. Avoid at all costs. We have taken the car back to the dealer 4 times in the first 2 months of ownership. There is a persistent sound coming from the rear of the car when the brakes are applied. The dealer believes it is gas sloshing around in the tank. It sounds to us as if a gasket or ball bearing is lose, and it has ruined our experience with the vehicle. I wonder if any other ownners have had the same problem? |

Strength:
Its a Honda Nav system Seats
Weakness:
Road Noise RIDE (TRUCK) Interior materials (FAKE wood trim) MDX not many on the road because dealers won''t deal. Truck hard ride on Freeways and rough roads. Tons of road noise. FAKO wood trim. Easy Nav System. Colors and interior choices. Just NOT WORTH THE PRICE. FIND SOMETHING ELSE!!!! Similar Products Used: NONE |

Strength:
Handles like a car. Phenomenal on bad road conditions.Great seats. Third row a huge plus with 3 kids, 2 playing hockey. Excellent hvac system. No company gives service like ACURA. My MDX was no. 65 produced, and ACURA replaced all seats because of flawed leather - try and get Mercedes to do that! Overall a great experience.
Weakness:
Wind noise around side mirrors (design changed for 2002). Sound system needs more power for high speeds. What can you say about a vehicle that has equity in a lease after only 14 months? Sold car after 14 months because resale value (over 25,000 miles) too good to be true. Similar Products Used: Test drove ML-320 - drove like a truck. Loved the X5, but in Canada $20,000 more expensive and no third row. |

Strength:
super smooth ride, strong powertrain, and car like handling, while at the same time giving you the secure feel of the suv image and size. all pluss when it comes to this car. ooh yeah dont let me forget this climate control system on this truck is kickin. i can have a/c on up front while back seat has heat ( the car acually has like two condensors which make this possible ....the only car that dose this ...plus plus plus) this also means that when both systems are working together that the car heats and cools in record speed compared to all other cars suv vans and so on. 10 acually useable cupholders that right 10. great brakes your going to need them to slow down from your strong acceleration. easy entry and exit. and contrary to popular belief the third row is acually comfy and im 5''11 280lbs (big guy). also the seats are super suportive and i have a lot to suport. and there are not a lot of them on the streets (unlike the ford explorer even the new 2002). it may just be me but i dont want to keep pulling up to a car like mine at ever single light on my way to work.
Weakness:
nothing at all ...well then again i did have to wait 2 months for it ......note to acura 40,000 models produced a year isnt cutting it please boost production and soon. and also because of the damand you dont get any deals on it also a negative but to tell the truth this suv is worth every single dolar. This is a Great GREAT GREAT suv to say the lease. the drive is supurb, super smooth, and very car like(felt like my Mazda only higher.....which is a good thing.) this suv is all i could ask for and more dvd navigation is "acurate acura" always right and simple to use. my tech absent mother set it with ease and found it exact as did i. the touring package is a must have unlike what you have been hearing about it think of it like i did .......if your going to spend 35,000 on a luxury suv why cut off the luxury A.K.A. go for it all navi, touring , the works Similar Products Used: test drove the 2002 mercury mountaineer and it was nice but not as good fit and finish as the acura (duh) 2001 mitsubishi montero had to much of the truck fell althouhg it had some nice features lik |

Strength:
Good engine. Honda Reputation Standard features which are options in RX-300, ML320 and Highlander Third row seat
Weakness:
My experience is with test drive only so please take it with a grain of salt 1. Prominent road noise for speeds above 60mph in highways.(RX-300, is way ahead here) 2. Little bit wobbling on highways for speeds above 60mph, feels lighter. 3. The interiors looked a little cheap for a luxury vehicle (may be the plastics and wood used) 4. Third row seat is hard to get unless you are a kid. The wait. The dealer wants you to wait for months and still pay the MSRP. The dealer did allow me to test drive it for a while though, that was nice of him. I just test drove the 2002 MDX with touring package. The dealership I went to was nice and courteous. I had a bad experience another dealer before who was arrogant with a take it or leave it attitude. We are trying to decide on three vehicles now,MDX, RX-300 and Honda Odyssey. I think the touring package is over priced, and the speakers don''t sound that great. Similar Products Used: RX-300(we luv it, the way it rides and how quiet it is. but it seats only 5 with less cargo space) |

Strength:
Quiet and strong enging. The 2002 model seems to be quieter than the 2001 model we test drove. The side mirrors are large and offer a very clear view. It has a lot of room but suprisingly small when judging from the outside. The turning is very tight to allow easy parking. The vehicle is very nicely put together and offers good balance between excellent comfort and sporty drive.
Weakness:
The main thing about this car is the waiting list. In our area, the waiting list is now almost 10 month, that is if you want to pay MSRP. You can of cause get it quiker if you pay more. This is actually an advantage for us because the resale value of this SUV will be high. The other thing about this car is some of the accessories prices are high, especially if you want dealar to install. I bought parts on the internet and installed myself, saved about 1000 in labor. Waited 6 months to get this SUV. It was a long wait but worth it. The sales person I talked to was very nice and helpful. I paid MSRP and I bought accessroies from the Internet to install myself (check out acuramdx.org). Very happy with the purchase. Strength:
NO recalls. NO rattles. NO scratches. Best vehicle on ice and snow hands down. It aced every review in 2001! Best navigation system (unfortunately, I couldn''t get one)
Weakness:
Turn signal too quiet. There are no regrets to owning this vehicle. It does not share the Oddessy minivan chassis--the review by Sickc should be removed--he can''t even spell! The waiting period for the MDX is STILL 6 months: everybody wants one. I fear some professional theif will steal mine. Similar Products Used: ML320, RX300, X5, Durango, Pathfinder |

Strength:
Quality, reliability, utllity, power, nav. system is great.
Weakness:
A little noisy at highway speeds for this price range. For the price, best all around SUV on the market. Fully loaded Ford Explorer about the same price, not even in the same league. American manufactures tend to strive for at best "average" products. In this price range, they are way behind the curve. Similar Products Used: Ford Explorer, Lexus RX300, BMW X5 |

Acura MDX w/Touring Package
Strength:
- Handles like sports car - Smooth power - 3rd row seat - Very roomy - Lots of standard features - Radley service dept open til 2 a.m.
Weakness:
- Front cupholders too small - Steering wheel cruise/stereo controls not lit - hard to find at night Excellent vehicle. Nothing in its class, the only other SUVs that offer a 3rd row seat (Explorer, Montero) cost just as much similarly equipped but don''t measure up in fit/finish, quality, etc. Similar Products Used: Test drove Durango (no headroom), Explorer (quality issues), Escape (too small), Highlander (advertised as 5 seater - 5th person must be approx 6 inches wide), Sequoia (too tall - won''t fit in garage |
