Strength:
I read some of the reviews that said the ride was bumpy! The MDX is smoother than most cars, let alone suv's. Anyway, my point is, its the best vehicle I've ever had or been in.
Weakness:
Hmm, despit paying full price, the cost still was not bad. I guess there are no weaknesses. Very fun to drive. Accelerates very quick and smooth. The looks are amazing, I love the angles Acura used. Dealership was very nice and helpful. RX300 just doesn't compare. Did I mention its very fun to drive? Just buy this car. Don't bother reading anymore reviews, just buy it! NOW!!! Strength:
Has great all aroundablility. Love the concept, however....
Weakness:
Huge clunk going over woopdi doos. Sounds like the transmision is going to fall out. Squeak from back door. Chatter from roof top when slowing. Leather and plastic ticking noises constantly. Radio had short near rear speaker. Dealer refused to take the raido from the MDX on the lot and replace it. NEVER GO TO JOHN EAGLE ANYTHING!!!!! They are a joke! They have not fixed one thing. My MDX has been in the shop 5 times and a total of 12 days in 2 months. Very pissed off with this vehicle. JOHN EAGLE SUCKS!!! The car is a constant chatter box. LEMON!!!! Strength:
Very Spacious. Quiet smooth ride. Quick Acceleration. Easy to reconfigure seating/cargo area. Love the heated seats!! Memory seats. Very bright headlights. Feels very stable, not tippy.
Weakness:
No auto on headlights, instead has auto off. Tailgate needs to be shut hard. Delay for rear wiper? If you drop something between the center console & the front seats, good luck retrieving it! I have had a great experience with the MDX. I agree with others, that the exterior is plain & could've used some protective trim. I have 3 children & the MDX allows us to spread them out in the car as much as the minivan. I love the storage compartment in the back & the power outlets for their gameboys. I am amazed at how much cargo space I have with being able to fold the back two rows of seats down. My husband's expedition 3rd row seat actually fit into the back of my mdx with room to spare!. I am impressed with how easy it is to fold the seats down from outside the vehicle. I could not do that with the van. My husband, who is 6'2 always complained about the van not "fitting him". The mdx fits him better. We also like the memory seat feature. I would recommend to anyone. Similar Products Used: Mercury Villager minvan 7 yrs. Much more space, luxury, acceleration & overall sportier than minivan yet more versatile. Ford expedition (eddie bauer) feel tippy, noisy & trucky compared & doesn't have many of the luxury items for the price of the MDX. We looked at buying the Mercedes M class, but MDX was about $4K less expensive & we liked the 3rd row of seats better vs Mercedes that were tethered up when not in use & much more difficult set up & were really never out of the way like the mdx's. |

Strength:
road comfort, interior space, overall refinement of drivetrain, steering response, fuel efficiency, space utilization, creature comforts, visability, seat comfort, sneaky power output, overall integrity of body structure
Weakness:
some low speed wind noise, sunroof opening too small, HVAC/Nav/TC not initially user friendly--must read book--oh well...biggest gripe? NO BODYSIDE MOULDINGS is the worst offense--what were they thinking? This is a SUV--supposed to handle parking lots as well as off road duty and this tells me somebody was sound asleep. 1300 miles in two days. Avg'd 68MPH overall at saw 21-22MPG per trip on green motor. Impressd with ride, handling, stability, comfort, ergonomics, (once everything figured out) Love the ride--compared to ML, is much smoother. Somewhat disappointed in perceived torque compared to ML, but MB's 3.2 is incredibly torquey and smooth with lusty sound. No comparison either in ML's adaptive 5spd. auto. Hopefully the MDX will adapt--I assumed all 5spds today are adaptive, but the MDX compelled me to have to push farther down on the accellerator to shift down. Could be learing curve. We will be much happier with the space utilization and room in the MDX over the long haul. I'd hoped MB would have more room with 3rd seat. Think the MDX represent best value in this segment. I would recommend to anyone coming out of minivan or larger SUV. Best combination overall. Similar Products Used: ML 320--owned for last 3 years, Montero SR from 94 to 98. Much more refined than both. |

Strength:
Sleek styling, Powerful and smooth engine at all speeds, Great seats, Expansive trunk area, Strong heater/ac for both front and back seats, exceptional road grip with electronic AWD, and 19-20 mpg with 240 hp!
Weakness:
A few sqeaks in the back where the trunk cover is, Mildly more road noise and tauntness to the suspension (than our Lexus RX300), and I bought it in October so paid MSRP. Acura MDX is the next generation of sportier driving SUV's, that has a very apealing look, affordable luxury, and a functional size. Similar Products Used: 1990 Jeep Cherokee = rough but fun for 10 years, Lexus RX300 = The best SUV/car for us in August 1999 and still is excellent in it's own right, I think the Acura MDX is a more masculine car, stronger, sportier driving and has a larger trunk. |

the space in this suv is excellent. acceleration is also explosive for an suv. sharp looking. good turning radius. 3rd row seats. sound system. independent climate control. michelin tires. great traction. nice ride. dash looks nice.
Weakness:
leg room with all these seats may be a bit of a problem for taller people. would definitely recommend for people who have the money and time to wait. Similar Products Used: we also own a lexus rx 300. the acura will provide us with more room. |

Strength:
Good 4 wheel drive system very capable of handling slippery conditions
Weakness:
Windnoise at freeway speeds, fairly cheap quality of materials compared with other Luxury brands, Too wide and long - extremely difficult to manuver in small spaces, Noisy on acceleration, Extremely bad value for the money, Extremely bad customer service from the Dealership and Acura client sevices as well - They just don't care, bad fuel mileage, feels sluggish. After waiting for 3 months and paying $2000 over the sticker price (foolish me!!!) I am extremely dissapointed with this vehicle. I was extremely reluctant to pay the premium to obtain this SUV, but I guess I fell for the hype. I had several problems at the dealership ( got the car with some scratches on it etc. - the dealership was very unhelpful and could care less) When I called Acura client services to complain, they were extremely rude and could care less and said "there was nothing they could do about it". I also asked them why I hadn't received a satisfaction survey and they said they'd send me one if "I wanted it"!!!. By comparison when I bought my $14000 Toyota Corolla I got loads better service and cusotmer care and that was an economy car and this is supposed to be a $40000 Luxury Automobile !!!! Unbelieveable! I do not recommend anyone to buy this lousy automobile from a lousy manufacturer which has gotten very greedy over time. Was told I could not get one for 5 months. Found a dealer with a demo on the lot. Bought it at sticker 37450 with 2K miles on it. Has touring pkg w/lots of accessories. No charge for accessories! Running boards, fender flairs, lower trim, tailgate deflector, sunroof visor, mud guards. Awesome color... Granite Green. Drives very well. Love the fold down rear seats
Weakness:
Don't care for the large display screen in the dash. Who needs such a large compass and MPG guage? Love the car/suv. Great for families. My neighbors are envious...... all have minivans. My other neighbor has an X5. Don't know what he thinks yet. Similar Products Used: Expedition. Too big. My wife keeps hitting things. A @#%$* to wash. |

/Acura MDX
Strength:
Quality. Size is perfect for our family of 4. Memory seats allow my wife and I to both drive it without fussing with the seats and mirrors. Nav has proved itself over and over again. Fold down seats are extremely useful (much better than having to carry seats out and needing some place to store them). Its very quiet, and shifts _very_ smoothly.
Weakness:
Price -- bought it on the first day it was introduced and dealer was charging $2K over list, including gouging for a bunch of accessories we didn't really want. Would appreciate it if Acura would stop their dealers from being so cheap. Would recommend to anyone who can afford it. My wife and I were looking for something that had enough power, would be fun to drive, had 3 rows of seats, and had Nav. (We bought a '99 TL with Nav a while ago and found the Nav indispensable.) The stereo is better than the TL (though not as good as the Nakamichi in the Lexus). Similar Products Used: Traded up from a '93 Nissan Quest minivan. No comparison -- much more power and much better suspension and handling. |

Strength:
Great looks, great acceleration, great ride
Weakness:
Looks like a van, peopole constantly confuse with a Mazda MPV, too noisy at 60 MPH, small sun-roof, 1-2 months waiting list, weak "off-road" Great SUV, if you care about the space, comfort and need to haul many people. Most likely, you will net stand out with this car. Looks like a van and has a "me-too" styling. Good value for money. Similar Products Used: Mitsubishi Montero Limited. A little bit less power, much bigger sunroof, much nicer design, $3,000 less expensive. I ended up cancelling my order at the last minute and buying Montero. |
