Strength:

Take off, Handling, Looks, and many many more.

Weakness:

Sound system sucks. But I really don't care I have the Engine roar entertaining me.

I love this car. It is my favorit car that I've had, and I've had alot of cars.(Audi S4, Subaru WRX, Acura Integra R and so on) No need to say much besides that it is a great car and it keeps its value very high compaired to most cars. I get tired of my cars very soon, but this car surprises me every time I look in the hood and drive. I'm amased on how can a small engine w/ no turbos pull this car so hard. I love it. A great car to play with.

Strength:

Amazing use of a 4 cylinder. Amazing gear box. HID lights, power roof, 50/50 weight ratio, cant say enough ad things

Weakness:

Not enough tourque. (not a big problem) Plastic rear window (only in 2000 and 2001) weak stero (What do you want, ITS A ROADSTER!)

There is no other car like it. The only way to know if it is for you is to drive one. If you are going to whine and complain about a plastic window, a weak stero and small ammount of interior room, then get another car. If you want an AMAZING car buy this, you wont regreat it. It is a roadster, so its a little bit of a rough ride, but nothing out of the ordinary or unexpected. The six speed transmition is a work of art. The interior is beautiful and i still love pressing that "start" button everytime.

Strength:

Clever use of technological innovation Great handling (suspension, rigidity) Acceleration at 6000+ revs Steering response at high speeds Braking Great looks

Weakness:

Handling in the wet (self control in lieu of traction control) Low torque - I am not the one to drag race at the red lights but uphill starts, especially in the wet, do not inspire confidence.

For sheer technological excellence, S2000 has few peers. Throw in good looks and the price and you are left with one winner. This being said, this car cannot be judged by comparison. The driving experience is the sole judge for a car that involves the driver so completely. This also explains why opinions range from "dream car"to " go get a Miata". I have owned the S2000 for about two years as the only car, and driven it sedately during weekdays and less so over weekends but it wasn't until recently that I truly enjoyed the breathtaking handling that this car is capable of. On the twisty mountain roads in the south of France, the S2000 responded happily to every turn, (often taken at speeds at least 30 to 40 kms/hr above the limit. The inherent oversteer is extremely rewarding for the uninitiated like me, easy to correct through the throttle when things reach the limit. Especially on the hair-pin bends upslope, it's a treat to head into the bend at speed, brake late and use the oversteer to corner & accelerate out of the turn. Steering response is excellent especially at higher speeds. On a few occasions though, the tail wagged, issuing a clear warning to check over-enthusiastic maneouvres. Tail spin seems to be easy to correct, to a certain limit, through the throttle. In any case, care must be taken on wet roads, where the lack of traction control does not go unnoticed. For an open top, the rigidity of the chassis is quite astonishing - definitely in the same league as the Elise, the TVRs and arguably Modena 360 Spider (yeah, lynch me!!). Had the occasion to swap a friend's SLK once and the Merc felt kind of roly-poly, in comparison, when cornering. Braking is stupendous and without fuss, with little sign of fatigue. The engine roar at 6000+ is a awesome. Many find the exhaust note raspy, and it's true. But then it's not coming from a BMW 6-in-line or a Ferrari V8-- it's a 2 litre 4 cylinder and I know of few 2 litre 240 bhp engines to really compare exhaust note tunes. The noise (engine, wind, tyres) can be tiring on long drives on the motorway but then this type of car requires a few sacrifices for what you get in return. For this same reason, the cosmetic shortcomings like carpet quality, music system, storage bin, have little meaning in my opinion.

Strength:

Proven Honda mechanics, documented 0-60 and 1/4 mile dominance over Boxter, TT and Z3s (but not Boxter S and Z3 3.0), insurance rating surprisingly low, sweet lines

Weakness:

the usual gripes, who cares, this is a 'toy' not a luxury sedan. Don't sell your SUV.

This is a great SPORTS car. I'm ignoring the lame stereo, paucity of storage, cramped driver's space (I'm 6-1) and cheezy plastic rear window. This car is a great one because its very fast, has amazing brakes, a fun transmission, and gorgeous lines. I can't stop looking at it. Recently parked it next to a silver 3.0 Z3 and honestly liked the Honda's lines better. The car shines above 6000 RPM, when the second cam kicks in, its like driving a different car. It howls. I've seen only 3 on the road in Seattle this past year. Inumerable Z3s, lost count of the Boxters, TTs are like VW bugs around here. Get one.

AWESOME... a pure roadster driving experience. It is difficult to describe unless you have had a chance to drive one. Those that are addicted to American Muscle (torque) will be VERY dissapointed. One of the best handling cars on the road... not for the inexperienced driver!! It gets more positive AND negative comments than anything on the road... I guess you love it (80% of those that have commented) or hate it (20%)... one of those cars that people feel strongly about!!!

Strength:

race worthy straight from the dealership. Even into it's 3rd year of production, spotting one on the road is still fairly rare. Excellent build quality.

Weakness:

Engine performance suffers greatly from heat soak in the engine bay when adequate airflow is not provided by motion (i.e. stop and go traffic).

This is a fantastic automobile. Even after a year of ownership, I find myself grinning every time I walk up to my S2000, in anticipation of the enjoyment awaiting for me behind the steering wheel.

Strength:

This work of art is quick, and fast. A great dollar value, arguably a better deal than the C5 Corvette.

Weakness:

The interior lacks bells and whistles. A GPS system would fix that problem. A better radio setup would help as well.

This is one of the best cars available. If you can afford it, buy it, not some weak Acura sedan. Honda knew what it was doing with this car. I love it. I would buy another one if I could.

Strength:

This car is designed with you, the driver, in mind. 6-speed gear box is unreal. Xenon lights. glass rear window for 2002 is a HUGE ungrade. Very few on the road. The fun factor is unmatched. Handling, braking, oh yeah and the top goes down!

Weakness:

No glove box and the interior storage that it does have is pretty much unaccessable from the driving position. The so called upgraded radio is still pretty weak. Tickets.

From the first time I drove it, I was hooked. This car is fun, fun, and more fun. It has unbelievable handling and braking not to mention its fast. Nothing in its price range compares. This car blows away a Miata in every way. Tried a Z3 and it was good but really no excitement at all. Now I know why they put a "Z" in the name - I almost fell asleep. M roadster was basically just a faster version of a Z3. The Boxster was real nice but to get one that keeps up with this car you have to spend 60G''s. If you want an exciting sports car that does everything right, do yourself a favor and check out this car!! Its a real attention getter - people don''t know what it is.

Strength:

pretty body

Weakness:

poor quality, poor customer support. Lip-service but no real help from either the dealer or Honda of America

This review is for the VTEC engine in the S2000. I have owned a Prelude for 4 years and have had ongoing problemswith oil burning. Since the car was new it burned a quart every 1000 miles. The dealer insisted that this is normal. After complaining 3 times, Honda extended the warrenty to 60,000 miles but maintained that the oil consumtion was normal. As the car got close to 60,000 miles - I again complained because the oil use increased to a quart every 500 miles. Even then, the dealer insisted the oil use was normal. Now the car has 60200 miles and Honda looked at it and said the "rings were damaged obviously since the car was new" But guess what - they refuse to fix it now becasue it is out of warranty. Save yourself the issues and don''t be lured into this engine by the pretty looks of the car. This is not an isolated case from what I hear. You too may be burned!
