Strength:

Love the power sliding door, great engine

Weakness:

Beware of the headlights!!!

Not bad overall but the headlights have a manufactor defect and the plastic lens cover just falls off. G.M. will not recall, Check your headlights before you leave your driveway today. It will be a $250.00 mistake. Same problem with the Chevy Venture and the Pontiac Montana.

Strength:

I do like the ride the Oldsmobile provides and the features for the price
Also the fact it does have more cargo room

Weakness:

Mechanical Problems

Would probably not purchase the vehicle again if given the choice.
1 month after purchasing - problem with the directional information mode ( ie N, S, etc. ) would only show C - had to be reprogrammed
16,000 miles - ABS systems and Traction control system problems..
exterior panel loose - repaired
I originally did not want to purchase the extended warranty - now feel that it would be in my best interst.

Strength:

Great styling.
Nice interior lay-out with great ergonomics.
Very nice leather seating with power seats on both sides.
Excellent sound system, like the auto compensation sound level for increased interior noise.
The bench far rear bench is spit in the middle for easy removal unlike the ford and chrysler.
The second row captains chars are also easy to remove.
The van is about 3-5" narrower so it does not feel so bulky. very nimble in a parking lot for a van.
Controls are all logical and easy to use and reach. Except for the cruise control switch wich is hidden behind the turn signal stalk.
Great gas mileage. About 19mpg city and 25 highway going 70mph.
The self leveling rear suspension is super for a loaded up van.
Trip computer works great.
The fe3 suspension upgade give a great highway ride and very respectable cornering.
Engine is very strong and quiet with low maintinance.. Very rarely have to give heavy throttle to get our of trouble.
Air conditioning in conjunction with the rear air is very strong.
In all a real pleasure to drive especially on the highway where the seating position lends itself to reduced fatigue on long hauls.
Like the fact of having the safety of ABS, traction control, and side air bags.

Weakness:

Brakes could be better. Should have discs in the rear to improve stopping power.
Could have some memory positions for the power seat.
Second row seating could be a little higher.
Problems to this date-
Recall for a new latch on the power door. Never had a problem with old one.
A molding is coming off on the driver's door.
The warning chime does not allways come on when the key is in with the door open.
The rear wiper fluid hose was kinked and replaced with a new pump.
All the problems above were fairly minor and have been repaired except for the chime and for the door molding which is coming off again after having been replaced.
I am not worried about service down the road sinc the Pontiac Montana and Chevy Venture are similar mechanically.
Overall a very positive experience so far and hope the future holds the same.

We have owned this van for two years know and have about 17 k miles on the clock. I had looked at every other van at the time and found this one to offer the most for the money. I might have considered a Honda Odyssey, but dealers were price gouging at the time. Also, found one major problem with the Honda. My shinns hit the bottom of the dashboard on the passenger side. Looked at the Toyota Sienna with high hopes, but by far the most cramped van inside. Since I am over 6' 3" head room, legroom and footroom were great considerations. This van was the only one to have ample foot room and a smaller wheel well on the passenger side. A real pleasure to be in the passenger seat especially since a power seet is also included. My wife drives it every day and myself on the weekends. She does nothing but tell me how happy she is with it and I agree. Unfortunately, Oldsmobile made the announcement of only making cars for another four years. That is why I wanted to submit this review to comment on our positive experience with this product.

Strength:

The best things about this vehicle are the engine and ride(self leveling suspension).

Weakness:

Build quality is disgraceful. The exterior panels fit very badly. We have been back to the dealership a few times to have trim and electronics problems fixed (side trim loose, interior rear AC/audio console loose, traction control system fault prevents vehicle from starting). Also, when the outside temperature gets above 110 degrees the adhesive on the strip around the front windshield melts and it separates from the windshield when driving at highway speed (even after repair at dealership). We will have to think very carefully before buying another GM vehicle.

Good looks (white/gold package). Powerful engine, good transmission and excellent ride. Huge amount of interior space. Terrible interior/exterior build quality. Ubiquitous gadgetry susceptible to malfunction. Poor gas mileage around city.

Chevy G-30 van that worked great for many trouble free years. The Trans Sport is like a stationwagon compared to the G-30 which the wife likes.
