Hyundai Elantra Touring
Strength:
Looks way cooler than Elantra sedan, amazing room and comfort for what classified as compact car. Engine appears to be decent compromise between performance and fuel economy.
Weakness:
Ride is firm, make sure to drive it over some bad bumps to see if it suits you. Stock stereo looks good, but sounds just OK. Can't get air con and/or ABS as stand-alone options on emtry model, which starts at 145000 Had car for only 1 week so far, mostly great impressions. Replaced 2000 Civic with manual tranny, got Elantra touring L with preferred package and auto tran. Great looks inside and out, European design shows through. Car pretty quiet on street & hwy, 2 ltr engine with auto feels adequate, if not fast. Had no problem merging or overtaking. Think it would feel even faster with stick shift. Inside room is amazing. My 3 kids, aged 13,10 and 4(with booster seat) fit comfortably enough in the back. With rear seats folded one can fit mid-sized fridge on a side back there. Meanwhile the car looks on outside and feels from drivers seat same size as my old Honda.Tasetful inside decor, nice-looking blue-lit gauges, chrome accents, airbags all around, ABS with EBD. The ride is a bit on firm side, if you drive over sunken manhole, you feel it. Car has stock 15" steel wheels with Hankook Optimo tires. Plan to upgrade to 16 or 17" rim size with premium touring tires, may make a difference. Brakes feel great, very smooth, but ready to bite with little extra push.Car has full 5 year/100000Km warranty(with small print) and free oil changes for 5 years. As long as it works as well as my Civic did for as long I'll be a very happy customer. Similar Products Used: 89 Corolla SR5, super car
