Strength:

It is roomy and has good handling and cornering. I did not have any problems, that required repairs, only did maintenance.

Weakness:

3.3L engine with 158 HP. It is ridiculous to have this weak engine on such heavy car as Grand Caravan. So, it leads to a pronounced lack of power, especially at low (up to 2500) RPM. Also, this engine has awful gas/milage: 13 city/18 highway. It is even worse than some SUVs have!

This car is not bad at all as a family vehicle for the price paid.

Strength:

- Value for the money. - Best looking minivan out there. - Easy to dicker on price, because of glut of supply. - Lots of rebates available. - Good warranty.

Weakness:

- Prior model had reliability issues. - Apparently has poor resale value, due to reliability. - Many desired features are only available on Grand.

A good van at a great price. NOTE - The price shown is in Canadian dollars.

Strength:

Good price for a mini-van

Weakness:

No power, no reliability, not enough cargo space, no leg room for the kids in back.

Good price if you need to haul kids around town but get out your wallet for the tires, brakes and alignment prices you will pay. Don't get the 4 cyl. People behind you will be giving you the finger cause it can't go up hill very well.

good cargo space. Lots of get up and go.

Weakness:

Had to buy whole new AC. Am on my 3rd transmission at 155,000 miles since 1990. Driver side window regulator is broken. Paint chipped and repainted many times over. Brakes were scary for years. finally had a dodge mechanic switch something around and fixed the problem.

3.0 liter 6 cyclinder, gets 20mpg, See below for more. I am looking for a newer car/van I want better gas milages, four wheel drive next time with cargo space for my large sculpture.. Any suggestions? sculpture2000@hotmail.com

Strength:

Roomy. Price was right. All standard features plus option of power sliding passenger side door which is a life saver for having kids/old folks.

Weakness:

Front seat. Otherwise, none. Just gas and go and regular oil change from the dealer.

2001 Caravan with long wheel base Sport, 2H package plus Touring Option and passenger side power door. CAN $35,000 on the road with 5 year bumper to bumper warrenty. This is third Caravan that we owned. 89 and 95 before purchased this one. Bought it in January 2001 and the minivan experienced with no problem. We took it from Ontario to Florida, Orlando twice already through the mountain route. We drove it at 75+ MPH all the way with resonably good mileage from it. Found using regular 87 octane gas is OK. Did not find 93+ gas was necessary even climbing the mountain. I am 6''1" and found the front seat uncomfortable. I thought that I could get use to the seat arrangement, but after 23,000KM (around 14,000 miles) I still get leg cramp after half an hour of driving. Tried all sort of tricks, cushions, leaning forward/backward and no vail. My 89 served us well except brake. Engine was strong at 200,000KM (120,000 miles). It was a turbo 4 cyclinders with 2.4 liter size of engine. Parted it for $500.00 at 2001 after purchased the new van. The second 95 Voyager was just OK. Got stolen at 97 with 34,000KM on it. It was OK with no mechanical problem but chassis screaked like crazy crying for lubrication. Outside trim piece fallen off and had to hand glued it back.

Strength:

2500c.c. Turbo Diesel 195 km/h, FWD, smooth suspension even fully loaded, stands the road like no one (mod 15" Alu w/ GT2 215x65R15), superior pull on all gears and ratios (mod Stainless Steel exhaust, hand- build on car itself), en real driving confort at high speed.

Weakness:

Bit to noisy, all around...front breaks are weak and wear off fast, and I wear off 3 battery sets already...

All round use MPV, 2 seats only (EU version), with loads of cargo space, and a motor you''ll dream off...

Strength:

Strong acceleration, smooth transmission, body integrity, good brakes, 105,000 miles and no signs of anything major rearing it''s ugly head in the near future!

Weakness:

A/C unit, heavy rear seats.

I have to really wonder about a lot of these reviews...This is my third Chrysler minivan since 1990, and I have yet to experience the nightmares some of these folks claim. I''ve hit 105,000 miles on this one (SE Sportwagon-regular wheelbase) and so far my only big fix was replacing the compressor on the a/c unit last year-$850 (My one gripe with this van was the a/c...I had the condenser replaced under warranty after 20k, and every year until last year I had to have the system re-charged until they finally decided it was the faulty compressor), belts (also last year), an intermittant ABS indicator light problem (fixed under warranty an no problems after that) and a couple of brake jobs...other than that, it''s oil & gas and I drive happy! 7 years of the crappy NY area roads and ZERO suspension problems, and I load this sucker up! I''m a photographer and the regular load is myself, a couple of assistants and 5-600lbs of equipment! The engine has given me nothing but perfect performance. Again, to repeat what I said earlier, some of these reviews sh¡t all over this car and I have to wonder about that...Chrysler couldn''t keep on selling the things if they were that damned bad.

Strength:

Good gas mileage.

Weakness:

Too costly to keep up.

Caravan has just over 60,000 miles. Has a blown head gasket and transmission is totally shot. Guess what? There is not 7 year-70,000 mile power train warranty. No way a head gasket and transmission should go they way I''ve maintained this car. 3 year-36,000 mile bumper to bumper is a crock. No problems will arise in this time. Bye bye Dodge/Chrysler. Hello Nissan Pathfinder or Honda Odyssey. I''m a true blue American but, I''m tired of purchasing these inferior American cars. Check out the consumer reports.

Strength:

If it got any I would probably missed it. Well, the seat were kind of good though

Weakness:

Transmission, engine, aircondition, steering etc

Probably the worst thing I''ve ever used my moneys on. This is not a car for those who''s going to drive it. After two hours the transmission broke down, then the engines cooling system. A few days later I encounter a serious oil leak. Then the exhaust system broke down, the aircondition and the steering starts to "houl". Conlusion is: Do not buy a car like this. Even my local carage who''s acctually a Chrysler dealer said I should probably consider another brand !! That should say about it

Strength:

Great ride. Very comfortable. Good milage. This is probably a good vehicle for people thinking about a 3 or 4 year lease.

Weakness:

From what I read on web sites and consumer magazines, the quality seems to be spotty. Mine was pretty good for the 1st few years.

I purchased this vehical new in 94 and after 8 years, I have mixed feelings. The power train (came with 7 year warrenty) has been solid. Handling has been very good - I love the ABS brakes. Milage has been decent - about 25mpg on the highway. I actually experienced few problems for the first 5 years. Then the air conditioning died and cost about $2000 to repair. It died again about a year and a half later. I haven''t bothered to fix it again. Vehicle has a little more rust than I would have expected. If not for the air conditioning problem I would probably purchase this vehicle again.
