I admit it does have a sensative transmission but NO car is PERFECT! FOR PEOPLE WHO HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS READ THIS: Don't let the tranny problem ruin ur experience with Chrysler Cars. I had my transmission rebuilt for $3000.00 CAD. I have a 1999 Dodge Caravan 3.0 . To try and avoid that problem , change ur Transmission oil. At the Dealership (chrysler) they have a service called "transmission service" . It is $128.00 CAD, but they change all the gaskets and flush the system and clean everything. We made the mistake of not doing that for a while when it was recomended, But I think on the bright side,.... At least the Transmission is NEW!. Trust Me, The Dodge Caravan Is worth it. GM minivans have the problem of Too Much "Make Up" (decorations) and some people I know have had the sliding door fall right out (how safe). and on Ford Minivans..... Where can I start???!! The Engines are BAD, Transmissions are CRAP and it isn't safe and they claim it is the #1 selling vehicle In Canada in a small town nearby when it is really a lie. The Dodge Caravan is the #1 Selling vehicle in Canada,.. Chrysler invented all of the Industries first for example : the Minivan, Power Liftgate, Remote Sliding doors and More. But what else do you expect from the company that invented the Minivan. p.s. I dont' work for Chrysler.. i'm only 13... BUT Don't get me wrong, I am practicly a mechanic. The advise I gave you does work. And I bet when you slowly come to a stop you can hear a sound like "buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.. Tick" That is regular transmission noise. And You should go to the Dealership also to do the transmission service i said before and also ask for a "Clutch Volume Test" It will see the quality of your transmission and tell you if it is gonna break etc.. If you need more help or have questions,, E-mail me at caravantough@hotmail.com Yup.. that is my Real E-mail. I am a Dodge Caravan Enthusiast. And the 1999 Caravan I told you I have, It is my aunts but it'll soon be mine. Similar Products Used: 1986 Dodge Aries K Class Wagon 1984 Dodge Aries K Class Wagon 1986 Dodge Aries K Class Sedan |

Lots of room and power, quiet ride, handling Drives wonderful. Big cargo space & rear seats are very comfortable. It's perfect van, recommended by JP Power. And it's not on government "Lemon list" like Honda Odyssey, Ford Windstar or Mazda MPV. The 2002 Car Lemon List Thanks to the efforts of the Center for Auto Safety, we are able to provide you with the vehicle complaints on file with the National Highway for Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Each year, thousands of Americans call their government to register complaints about their vehicles. The federal government collects this information but has never released it to the general public. The complaint index is based on a ratio of the number of complaints for each vehicle to the sales of that vehicle. TRANSMISSION!!!! BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY IF PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE!! CHEAPLY MADE BODY. This is the 2nd Dodge Caravan that I have owned and still expieriencing the same problems as the first one I had.....BAD TRANSMISSIONS!! I previously owned a 96 Caravan and had to replace the transmission at 69,000 miles. Traded it in for this 2000 Conversion Model against my better judgement (Kids had to have the TV) thinking Chrystler would have worked out the flaws in thier transmissions by now, at 31,000 miles the transmission has already started slipping quite often. Transmission fluid reads full, and filter has been changed, so can't figure out why it is doing this. Also, the brake light continually stays on as well. (minor problem compared to the transmission) My mother has also had to replace her transmission on her Caravan at 72,000 miles. It's a shame Dodge dosent make a better transmission because thier cars are the nicest looking and smoothest ride out there. Also, the front bumper is so damn cheaply made it's rediculous. Pulled over a parking concrete block at a convience store and when I backed out it ripped the whole front underguard off and caused the whole front frame to come undone all the way over the right tire frame. This concrete parking block was maybe 7" tall! I've pulled too close to these before in my Camaro and only scratched my front guard, but it never pulled the whole thing off. How cheaply made is that?? You can't beat if for comfortability, and the kids absolutly love it for road trips. This can seat alot of people and rides like a dream! Too bad for us it cant withstand the test of time, and not much time at that! Needless to say, this van is fixing to be the last Caravan I will ever own. Similar Products Used: 96 Dodge Caravan |

none Nothing has gone wrong so far - 20 000 miles. The front and middle seats are very comfortable, but the rear is slightly cramped. The 3.3-liter V6 provides almost sporty performance. The controls are easy to use. It has excellent fit and finish. To the other post bellow. Man you bought 12 years old vehicle and expect everything would be perfect? Makes me wonder. I owned 1993 Caravan for 8 years and had no troubles. You must take care of your vehicle. Similar Products Used: 1993 Caravan |

Brakes I am providing this information because people do make a difference. Two months ago I was involved in a Motor Vehicle Accident, where as my brakes did not properly hold. End result was I ran into the back of another vehicle. In reviewing some of the reviews and checking with Dodge auto dealers the dodge brake ABS system was changed from BENDIX to TEVES between 1998 and 99. Chrysler admitted (publicly) that there is a problem with the BENDIX system in 1993. This is quoted from a "REVIEW on a 1993 Dodge Caravan". The reason the Dodge Dealers could not provide me with any reoccurrence of brakes failing because there has not been an overwelming number of incidents. Otherwise known as a "RECALL".
