Realy good sound because of the G-force, mine was chip-tuned and has ca. 190HP. Its a fun car to drive and becaus it is from the USA its very special here in the Netherlands

Weakness:

None at this moment!!! haha

Hello people, I bought this car a time ago, and in europe there are not many of the USA corrado's to find. I bought it because I previous drove a Honda CRX 1.6I 16V, but wanted something faster!! Some of my friend had a Golf II GTI 16V and a Golf I cabrio, but I thought it wasn't anything. I wanted like my Honda a 2-door car and the only type of volkswagen is a Corrado! So I wnet looking for one, it was hard because i wanted some with full options. The only one was an USA car. I bought it and the sound off the G-force was realy fantastic. Now I'm going to rebuild it part by part, but that is going to be an many year project!

Strength:

Fast, strong, torque, takeoff, traction, supercharger lasts long.

Weakness:

Breaks down alot, engine could have been built better,

I had always wanted Volkwagen Corrado, preferably a 94' Vr6 but I found a 90' G60, I honestly think that this car can beat a Vr6. The supercharger makes a big difference in the take off, it gives more boost after 60mph the vr6 can probably catch up. I had to rebuld this engine, i bought it with 205,000 thousand miles. engine broke down, then i rebuilt it. Let me tell you the parts are expensive and they arent that easy to find. Its amazing how much attention you get with this car. especially after you smoke turbo charged eclipses, and gts celica's. I love this car and I dont think I could ever sell it. Its too fun to drive.

This car I am confident will out handle any all wheel drive car and stays glued to the road(speed activated spoiler really works). I've raped mustange 5.0's and turbocharged eagle talons. This thing will pull your nuts off from the line and is very reliable no problems yet.doesn't leak or burn 1 drop of oil.oil stays on the line and never needs to be topped off between oil changes. Will destroy 93 vr6 models(raced one I think it was stock except for exhaust)

Weakness:

e-brake sticks air-conditioning needs to be re-charged(will be removed compltely) some small rattles, just leather rubbing in the back I think.

I've wanted a Corrado for years a friend owned one and it's always been my dream car.Untill one day I came by a sockin' deal, this car has never been winter driven, garage kept its whole life and came with lots of extra's incuding fk fully adjustable coilovers, abd strut bars and stress bars, including ats 17" 6 spoke rims wrapped in yokahama parada's.other mods include hsm chip, neuspeed intake, scorpion exhaust, rally outlet, momo wheel matching knob and reccaro pedals.alpine theft deterrant with keyless entry.New forest green paint with totaly shaved and de-badged body(no-door dings!!) euro head lights and fog lamps, with 95 vr6 bumpers.euro lip and aftermarket clear side marker lenses, kamei eyebrow spoiler, brumbo vented and cross-drilled discs, 3m rockguard protection, and silver gauges and more!!.This baby's loaded!!The car only has 170,000 km and is in mint condition.mobile 1 synthetic oiled its whole life and has every service record since its birth.I love this car I would only sell it for a 95 vr6 with lower kms.

The VR6 engine is practically bullet proof. 90mph wheel spin in 3rd gear.

Weakness:

motor mounts, tranny synchros

I have owned both versions of the Corrado. 90 G60 and the 93 SLC. The VR6 is by far the best performing vehicle I've owned. I have rebuilt the motor my self and the car is completely race ready. It has every possible mod you can by except forced induction and its next. I would put this car up against anything and wouldn't sell it for the world. If you could just here it growl as you give it gas. It is without a doubt the one of the best engineered sports cars to come from Germany. Afterall VW designed it to stomp all over porsches and it did.

SUNROOF, WING,AND SWITCHES

I had lusted after this car since before they were released in 1990. I finally got ahold of my Corrado in 1996, it had 65,000 miles and was a one owner (older gentleman)who traded it in on a newer model, he bought a 95 VR6 corrado-lucky OLD MAN. I plan to be burried in this car. I forget things at the store, just so my girlfriend can send me again.Never in my life have i driven a car that after 6 years ,I still cant believe i'm still lucky enough to have found my dream car. With no modifications I can still smoke 5.0's, and don't I love the look on their faces as I whizzzzz by.This is the finest piece of machinery unleashed on the public in all of vw's history. (i also have a 57 karmann ghia and I used to abuse a very overbored 65 ghia, that beat corvettes light to light).I am looking for a low milage 95 VR6 Corrado, but I might as well piss up a rope. Guys who have the higher output 95 VR6's are'nt letting go of them. I guess I can't blame them ,as I know i'll never sell mine. I'm not sure that I would even trade it for a Porsche.

Strength:

The VR6 is powerfull and torque is good The engineering is there it is better stock than many modified cars. Great mialage I get 37 High 28 Low Nice auto window up sun roof close and alarm set with one key motion. My wife drives it sometimes and likes it and still does not know it has a spoiler. It is a sleeper.

Weakness:

Shifter is a little slow and is a cable linkage. It eats tires mabey because I drive it fast in the canyons all the time? Any stock parts are super expensive compared to american cars.

I did some research and was looking for a good fast car for not much money I drove a bunch of vehicles including G60 Corrados and I have to say this car is awesome. My 1993 VR6 stuffed a BMW M3 in the canyon and continues to impress me. It is a controlled four wheel slide and powers out and chirps as you hit third. I am in love with this car. If you think it might be the right one buy it and you will not be disapointed mine runs great! I have 131000 miles and race it up the canyon daily and only have been beaten once by a TA. I had him in the corners but as soon as we hit a straight away well there is no substitute for cubes at 8000ft. The fun part is the BMWs,Audis, Accuras, Eclipse, etc. They just cant believe it when they witness the wing moving up as you fly by! I am now a VW Fan for life and I never expected to be. You will see if you give one a try.

Strength:

Definitely handling, power and sex appeal!

Weakness:

The cars an addiction. There are not many of them.....that's the reason I love it....however, with that, comes a price. The "wing" can be distracting, but really....who looks behind anyway (just kidding). I do not drive my car hard, and I had to replace the front tires with less then 16,000 km.....I don't even what to name the company (we are in the middle of negotiating)....I believe the previous one's I replaced were Goodyear Eagle F1's... I know there is more to be repaired soon, but it's hard to say...that's it, no more!

My husband talked me into selling my Cabrio (which I truly miss.....love the open air), however, I DO NOT WANT TO EVER SELL THIS CAR. The car is tight ; it's nearly 10 years old and has 177K approx. It handles awesome....not that I am a rocket hound, but if and when you need the power, it's there. We have owned a number of cars (MG, Scirocco, 190 benz, volvo's) and test drove lots...nothing so far compares with this car. I find the acceleration between 3 and 4th gear great! Definitely find a mechanic you can trust!! The dealer was going to sell me the whole sunroof component for approx. $800....it turned out to be a small part which was from the sunroof of a VW Rabbit....however, from what I understand, the dealer cannot offer parts...only the whole componet. So collect all the information you can. Knock on wood....it's working fine.

EXPENSIVE!! one problem after the other.

I''ve owned my corrado G60 for 4 years now. I am just in the midst of getting it stripped and repainted yellow. Aswell as getting new exaust and balljoints, cv joints, hoses, air filter etc. to give you an idea of how expensive this car really is to maintain I''m looking at least 7000.00can. when it''s complete..like new, I hope. But, just like the majority of the other Corrado owners there isn''t a chance I would trade it. I would buy a new VW but still keep the Corrado no question.

Strength:

rare, only about 17k sold in the US...great performance vs price (its great to beat the pants off of a middle aged BMW driver that spent $35k on his car), the car just look awesome, its almost 10 years old, put ppl constantly ask me if it''s a new VW, the spoiler is retractable...it goes up @ 45mph and down @ 12, i love to see ppl watching it out of my rear view mirror...and lastly it''s so much fun to drive...great handling etc.

Weakness:

the quality control ppl were asleep at the wheel for this car...expect almost everything to break, especially the sunroof and the stupid auto-seatbelts.

a friend of mine had one of these a few years agao and i fell in love with the looks, so...flash forward 5 years and i''m in an acura integra, and one of these babies fly by me on the highway...thats all it took, i was smitten with the corrado bug. so after about 2 months of searching and searching for one in decent condition and relatively low mileage...i finally found the one. the car is black and had 71k when i bought it...and was/is beautiful. i''ve had it now a little over a year and still love it even though i have spent a small fortune getting it up to speed, and maintaining (about $3000 so far)...it had some front end issue (the PO hit a deer) that i knew about ($1500 to fix) and then a slew of other little problems...everything from plastic knobs breaking off, door handles breaking(which are $125 each BTW), relays needing replaced, a rim cracked, overheating issues (cheap plastic water flange broke three times!), charger rebuild (which normally costs $900-1500, but my friend is a g60 rebuilder so i got it for $300). so all in all a great car to drive...soo much fun and after some modest modifications (charger upgrade, FPR, 68mm pulley, aftermarket performance chip, exhaust) i can beat most other hatch-back sports cars on the road (talon, probe 24v, integra etc) and even occasionally a BMW 318i or mercedes K series...my biggest piece of advice would be to get a regular VW mechanic that knows the corrado...they are a rare, quircky car that not all mechanics can work on correctly.
