Strength:

NO MAINTENANCE GOOD GAS MILEAGE COMFOTABLE AND QUIET IT WILL LAST AT LEAST 10 YEARS AND STILL LOOK GOOD.

Weakness:

NONE AFTER 4 YEARS

BEST CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED AND AT 60+ THAT'S A LOT OF CARS. AFTER 4 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP, I STILL GET LOTS OF COMPLIMENTS ON THE CAR. I ADDED GROUND EFFECTS TO MAKE THE CAR APPEAR LOWER AND SPORTIER. I HAVE ALL THE OPTIONS AVAILABLE. IT RIDES AS SMOOTH AS SILK, GOOD GAS MILEAGE AND SO LUXURIOUS INSIDE.

Strength:

Ride, handling and 200 horses power with a smooth and quiet V6. The car has a beautiful, classic and sporty look. Excellent space inside (does not feel cramped at all) and huge trunk.

Weakness:

Some wind noise at highway speeds. Starting to notice some paint chipping.

A dream car! Looks, ride and V6 power--has it all. I got a great deal on my 2000 green SE 6 with only 27K. Since purchasing I have added moonroof, 28 piece wood dash kit, 16 inch alloy wheels. Traded a '97 Camry XLE (also great car)for more 'umph' and sportiness--yet practical enough for 40's something family man with 2 kids.

Strength:

Nice ride, strong pickup, plenty of power, even rides nice at a steady 100mph. Corners well with not much lean in the turns.

Weakness:

Sorry, haven't found any as yet.

What a beautiful car. It has a very plush ride which surprised me for a Toyota and a Convertable. I am in outside sales and am in this car all day long. It is very comfortable and easy to get in and out of. Almost every day someone comments on how nice the car looks (Red with black rag top and black leather interior).

Strength:

Silky smooth power train, excellent interior, perfect size, smart exterior design, and all this in a Toyota!

Weakness:

Body does shudder in tight hard maneuvers.

I'm a family man with a professional job. I've always wanted a "rag top" that I can get passengers into and up until now Toyota only had the Celica (Convertable)The Solara is a car I'm proud to own! I can drive clients around in it all week and enjoy a weekend "Cruise" The car is outstanding!

Model Reviewed: Solara XLE

Strength:

Good gas mileage, overall solid feel, smooth ride and great interior. Decent room in the back-seat, but with an emtpy nest, who cares?

Weakness:

Rocks easily chips the paint down to the metal, common to most Toyotas. A bra helps some. No heated leather seats, I'll see how the winter in CO goes before I install an aftermarket kit.

The Solara has totally different handling from the standard Camry (I own both), the Solara is much more solid and turns with more stability. The XLE model has all the creature features. I brought it on ebay and don't regret it. The exterior needed alot of care and work before it looked like new again. I prefer the moonroof to a rag-top.

Strength:

Great gas millage, good looks, the 136hp engine feels strong, excellent interior.

Weakness:

Weak front bumper paint for Solara and Corollas and the lack of window frame , i thought that went out with cars of the 70s

I bought my Solara used, based on Toyota's reputation. I own a 1993 Corolla with 220k flawless miles on it and decided to step up to a larger car. I got a decent deal on the car, it only had 27k miles. My green Solara looks great, runs fine but has some minor problems that i dont think any car should have such as the paint on bumper( my Corolla has the same bumper paint problem) and something i never realized, the car has no window frame which means wind noise at high speed.

Strength:

Good gas milege, beautiful car, quick on the start and fast pick up speed, roomy, large trunk, reliable, lots of compartments, easy handling, good price for the dependiblity and look.

Weakness:

Blind spots, I bought it at Carmax...have found better prices after looking more...should have done that from the beginning.

I love this Toyota. The Solara SLE is so sleek and it's pretty quick too. The upgrade from SE to SLE is worth the money for all the extras you get. The pick up speed is great. I tend to have that red light/green light foot and rarely get passed. My car has close to 50k mi. on it now and I've only had a few oil changes. It's getting close to new tire time though. I can't complain! It's very roomy for the taller people and comfy for everyone. The backseat isn't near as bad as the Celica's, Mustangs, Eclipse..etc. I am 5'10 and fit just fine in the back. I know this car is going to cross the 100k and probably even 200k mark easily...it's a toyota! I used to drive a Toyota 4 runner in High School and it's still in the family running at near 350k miles and still going...

Strength:

Sound system, roomy interior, big enough truck space, nice handeling, smooth ride, good gas milage.

Weakness:

The seat belts are a bit uncomfortable, sometimes I open the trunk with the remote and I dont know it, the buttons are close together, maybe a indicator light on the dash for the trunk should be added.

I LOVE THIS CAR!!!!!I always wanted a convertible and this car is perfect. People stop and look at this car. Mine is all black with tan roof and interior. It is so classy looking. I must admit, I have to wash it more often, but I even enjoy doing that. The seats are roomy in the front and back, the sound system is awesome but sometimes too much bass. It handles very nicely. And there is one lesson I have learned, you should always read the manual to learn about your car, this way you know how the seats and the power door locks work. This is the car of my dreams.
