Strength:

Roominess Smooth ride Quick Beautiful

Weakness:

None. Well, maybe could be a bit sportier looking for young couples as we are.

I had a 2001 Toyota Celica and 2002 Rav 4 but neither could fit my new arrival, husband and I. The Camry is soooo roomy! We have the SE V6 and I highly recommend it. Very quick and smooth. We are Camry owners from now on.

Strength:

Great redesign and I like the power seat and daytime running lights, even in the base model.

Weakness:

Can't think of one.

I have never had a better vehicle. We used to be a Honda family, but the interior and exterior quality, along with road noise, are so much better on this car. The price has been lowered a bit for the 2003 model as my sister found out.

Strength:

The V6 has lots of power. Leather seats are comfortable, though the front seats could use a bit more padding. Very smooth ride. Almost no road noise with the right tires (we have Bridgestone Turanza LSH tires). A very reliable car.

Weakness:

The rear headrests are so tall that they create a bit of a blind spot. The blind spot is quite pronounced on the passenger side because the "C" pillar of the roof and the right headrest almost merge. I have to use a lot of care when I switch lanes from the fast lane to the slow lane. The only thing I don't like at all about the Camry is that the new ones are priced about $2,500 to $3,000 too high.

Bought this car used in Dec 1998. It had 19,000 miles on it. Car is equipped with the V6 engine. Have had only three problems with it in 4+ years (two problems were covered under warranty). The power steering pump leaked and was replaced under warranty. The front strut (shock) tower bushings clanked when going over speed bumps. This is a common problem with '97 and '98 models. If you have this problem with yours, take it to the dealer and request that they fix it at no charge since it was a design flaw. The only other problem was a defective turn signal socket ($40 to fix).

Strength:

Lots of strengths -- solid value for the buck.

Weakness:

Struts go out early, paint seems thin for Toyota standards, exhaust pipe has awkward undercar configuration -- scrapes easily, and that awful sludge factor.

WARNING: If you are considering purchasing a '97-'99 4-cylinder Camry, and you notice ANY blue smoke from the tailpipe upon starting vehicle, look elsewhere. Sludge is a real problem with these vehicles, and causes extensive damage to all engine components over time. Summarizing my research and personal experience, it seems that this 4-cylinder engine runs at a higher normal temperature for emission purposes than previous model Camry's, which causes unintended early breakdown of the engine oil. This breakdown results in gooey deposits of oil forming all over the engine, causing early breakdown of tight tolerances throughout. You can take my word for it, or experience it for yourself. Toyota will tell you that it's related to frequency of oil changes (or lack of); however, I've spoken with too many owners who say differently, not to mention my own experience. If you are completely set on purchasing one of these vehicles, don't consider one that hasn't had a factory rebuild already performed on the engine. I love Toyotas, and cringe to write this. Good luck.

Strength:

Smooth and comfortable ride Nimble steering Handles well Spacious Good power for being a 4 cylinder.

Weakness:

I wish it had a telescopic steering wheel.

I am drifting more and more into parenthood and the eventual taxi cab driver that we become. We have a Sienna, but the kids are going in separate directions now and bringing friends with them. Not that I don't love being a father; I do. I just wish sports cars and a family went together. Unfortunatley, they do not. Exit my Celica. Enter my Camry SE. This is a great car. Lots of room. Handles surprisingly well. I can't take the windy roads like I did in my Celica, but it doesn't lose a whole lot. The ride is very smooth and comfortable. No wind noise. I test drove an LE, but the SE handles much better. The 4 cylinder is more than adequate. No blind spots. A very well built, comfortable, family car.

Also have a Toyota Sienna. Not similar, but you get the idea. Had a 95 Camry LE that got tossed for the Sienna. Great car, but wifey wanted a mini van for the kiddies.

Strength:

performance and reliability and safety

Weakness:

No major weakness discovered yet. But trade-in value of this car is less than Honda Accord which is not fair.

I bought 1998 used Camry with 28K miles. This is an excellent car for its class. Ride is very comfortable. And has got plenty of leg room for passenger side at the back. Trunk room is good enough. Engine is awesome even for the continous driving of more than 24 hours like from Washington,DC to Boston, and from Boston to Burlington, Vermont. There is no comparision to this vehicle to any other makes for the price it is offered.

-Roomy (wagon Version) -Smooth Handling -Reliable -Smooth engine -Smooth shift -good in the snow -reaches 130 top speed (wow)

Weakness:

accelleration(not bad,but could be better) -BAD! factory stereo, not properly grounded -Pretty much a on road car

The 1987 Toyota Camry is a somewhat normal family sedan With a 2000HP 4-cil engine it offers great gas mileage, as well as a comfortable smooth ride The car i own is a Wagon So it offers much more room for road trips or a day trip to the mountan A much sleeker look then its former model the 1986, which looked more like a box The 1987 has a more modern look to it I love driving this car, it is smooth handling and awesome steering Since it is a 4-cil i cant say much for accelleration. But it is better then i expected before i drove it Good starter car, as well as family Not at all a sports car but its still fun to modify to your own taste

Strength:

Toyota reliability.Smooth and quiet ride. Lots of leg room in both front and rear. Heater warms up in a manner of minutes. Dash controls are within easy reach of driver. 4 cyl drives like a 6 cyl. Excellent gas mileage. Purchased extended warranty-6yrs/100,000 miles.

Weakness:

None

I was kind of apprehensive at first of buying the Camry because of it's so-called bland looks-but after one test drive, I fell in love with this car. The ride is so smooth. This one is a pre-owned 02 Camry with 22K miles. There is no rattling or cabin noise. I am used to driving a 6 cyl. but this 4 cyl is just as powerful. I catch myself cruising up to 80mph without realizing it on the interstate. I wish I hadn't waited so long to try the Camry!!

CERTIFIED PROGRAM IS A LIE BRUNSWICK AUTO MART WAS NOT FAIR WITH ME

I am very upset about this vehicle. DO NOT TRUST THE CERTIFIED PROGRAM! I had several questions about a noise in the front. I was told it was a hubcap a bit loose. Now I find out it is $800 worth of repairs that they won't cover. Certified is a joke. The car is nice, good value, but I am a bit surprised at the big $$ I need to put out.
