Strength:

Huge trunk, lots of interior space, excellent stereo, good gas milage. ABS brakes and side and curtain airbags (options)

Weakness:

Not the most exciting car to drive, but solid build quality (so far), just a little more horsepower would be a plus. Had to purchase power driver's seat as an option! Grrrrrrr

After having two Accords and a disasterous 2002 CR-V, I tried the Camry and it is perfect. Smooth, quiet ride, instruments are functional, stereo is great, and the design is more stylish that the 2003 Accord.

Strength:

Comfort, front drivers seat is very comfortable. Quiet- can't tell if the car is running. Feels safe- doors close with a bang not a bing..

Weakness:

No light in the ignition, unless there is a light and mine doesn't work.

This is my first Camry- so far I think it's a great car. It was a preowned program car with 11k- got it at a great price but now that I see all the options- my next camry will be loaded!

Strength:

Excellant handling, plenty of room, lots of trunk space. Good on brakes.Desent fuel economy 22 to 24 mpg.

Weakness:

Power locks and rear window quit working last year. Also the radio quit working just this year. Needed a new one anyway. Only one major problem the fuel tank seems to leak if more than half full. Also parts tend to be a bit expensive but they are worth the money.

Great car! Has definately payed for itself. I have a 156,000 on it and plan to drive it till it dies. Drove from Arizona to North Carolina once and had no problems. If you are looking for a car the Camry is the way to go.

Strength:

Excellent engine and drive train. Good solid body. Excellent traction in snow. Great gas mileage. Heat, defrost, and air conditioner are very good.

Weakness:

Minor problems with electric windows and door locks.

This is the best car I've owned in this price range. 4 cylinder w/100,000 trouble free miles. Regular oil changes, new timing belt, 4 new tires and that's it. Nice driving, good looking, well built says it all.

Strength:

Reliability, Fuel Economy, one can only find design faults when looking with a magnifying glass.

Weakness:

Somewhat costlier than competitors- but you pay extra for Toyota reliability. Very high repair costs when it breaks / requires service. Worst Complaint: you can never find it in a parking lot because there are always 10 that look just like yours.

Very Reliable Car. I love the smoothness of the way it runs/drives, even after 50K miles. Some people consiter it boring, and I agree, but that is why I bought it- it's just a way to get from point A to point B. With 56,000 miles, the only thing fixed was a cut taillight wire, and a malfunctioning keyless entry fob- both cost a bundle to repair / replace.

Before this I owned a 1995 Camry w/ 205K miles, and a 1991 Geo Prizm w/ 260K miles. Both still ran well enough to be used as trade ins, although the Geo was rusting pretty badly.

Strength:

Excellent gas mileage. I normally go about 525 straight highway miles before refueling.

Weakness:

Horrible suspension. New and used buyers beware! Strongly recommend you read other reviews and compare against comparable Hondas or Mazdas. Also, strange rattling noise from rearend when going over bumps, but doesn't sound like suspension. Perhaps a muffler hanger which is typically rubber and stretch? Also, have a lot of problems with rain drops spotting up on rear window and we live in an area in the South with much lower than average acid rainfall.

I've owned this car for nearly three years and I'm very disappointed. Engine seems okay so far and luckily haven't had sludge problems, but I'm using Castrol Syntec blend. Haven't noticed paint problems, maybe because the car is garage kept. The suspension is horrible. I replaced the front struts at 38,000 miles and now a year later, there seems to be another rumbling noise from the same area in the front passenger side of the car. Toyota really needs to redesign the suspension on these cars. Have also had problems with oxygen sensor and check engine light coming on. According to Toyota, the fuel system is sealed and extremely sensitive. Even in the dead of winter, you must shut car off when refueling or car will stall due to fuel system. Their fix was to replace gas cap seal. When the same problem happened after initial service, I disconnected battery to reset computer and avoided Toyota's high service fees. Also, had to have the rear passenger seatbelt roller replaced due to a bad spring coil. Had to speak my mind here as I know that Toyota won't own up to any of these weaknesses or make good on problems.

Model Reviewed: V6 SE

Strength:

- V6 and transmission are unmatched in this class - comfortable and whisper quiet - excellent brakes - good factory stereo - ice cold A/C - user friendly controls and displays - rock solid reliability!

Weakness:

- creaking noise from rear end when going over large bumps (can't really complain though after 210,000 mi.) - paint seems to chip easily - weak power window motors - power antenna freezes when it's cold out

Excellent car. The V6 and auto trans. are smooth, quick, and refined (no problems merging onto highways). Not a single problem after 210,000 miles, the car still runs like brand new! The SE handles great. The ride is sporty yet comfortable (great highway cruiser). Fuel economy is top notch. The car is a coupe giving it a more distinguished look among other Camrys on the road. You can't buy a better car for the money. I would recommend the Camry, particularly the V6 model to anyone.

VERY COMMON.......I like to be a bit different, but there is no way around that with this car. It is a great car

I like the car a lot. There is a knocking in the right front section of the car. It rides nice and gets good gas mileage. The dealer wasn't bad to work with...they gave me a 100K warranty. I would recommend this vehicle.

Dependability, ride, gas mileage, peace of mind

Weakness:

Radio knob came off when new. Dealer replaced, came off again. Don't need it any way.

This Camry has been in the family since it was new. It now has 188,000 miles and shows no sign of slowing down. Everything still works (power windows, air, and even the cruise control) without a hitch. A still smooth, quiet ride with no rattles and very little wind noise. We did replace a computer chip @150,000 miles for $250 and I did spend $0.33 on baking soda to clean the battery contacts last winter. We've gotten all of this and have been pretty bad about routine mantainance. The car has taken much better care of us than we have of it. Still, getting 30-plus miles to the gallon.
