Strength:

Where this vehicle falls short is in it's features. In terms of audio and other features such as a compass, disc changer, homelink, navigation, this car falls short to competitors in it's range such as the ES330, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, and Mazda 6. mobile mechanic

Strength:

Excellent 4WD on the go. No engine problems. Fuel efficient. Parks ANYWHERE. Great handling and control.

Weakness:

Wheels (CV boots, Axles)

I got it for a steal of a deal! I get laughed at for driving a "beater" yet my car never breaks down, Has no issues, Except for wear and tear ( wheel bearings needed to be changed) Some rust which was easily fixed. The cars 4WD allows it to drive over snow like nothing. It can fit anywhere which is great for the city. I spend maximum 40 dollars on gas a month at .92$ a liter. If you can get this car do it. Regardless of price, it will last you longer than any other car I know of! Easily out dues some pricy cars in the reliability area, looks aren't everything!

Strength:

looks, economy not too gutless, unique, fun fun fun

Weakness:

oil pump design flaw...replace that oil filter, probably a flaw in the filter bypass valve my guess.

Justy is the best car ever. anyone who disagrees is foolish and didnt read the manual if you try to drive it in the 2 - 3000 rpm range it seems like a sluggish beast. However, if allowed to rev to ~4200 rmp each shift, it is a happy economical mini ferrari

Almost everything! Good power considering its 3-cylinders.

Weakness:

Tiny, but if you don't have a family, who cares? Pricey repairs, interior & seats haven't held up as well as other cars its age. But that's all cosmetic. Engine has been fantastic.

Great little car! Its my first car and its still going strong! At 13 years old, its got 140K miles and engine is still running great. Not too many repairs, but they tend to be pricey. Had a lot of trouble with valve cover gaskets in the last 40,000 miles - replacing them almost every year. I've had to periodically replace axle boots, but supposedly it was a design flaw. Other than that, just the usual maintenance and other repairs (brakes, mufflers, catalytic converter, timing belt, etc) for a car this age. I'll keep driving it until some major expensive repair comes along. Great fuel economy, holds a lot with folding back seats - more than you would think! It only left me stranded once (timing belt - I should have changed it earlier). I would buy another if they still made them! I can't say enough good things about this car!

Handling, Pep.

Weakness:

Stiff Jittery Ride.

A great car. More sports car than cruising car if you ask me. Even the four cylinder is peppy and it handles great. The downside is that the suspension seems to transmit every road flaw straght to the backside. But it's a great runaround car for the city. I don't reccommend long highway trips-head to a new accord for that.

Strength:

fuel economy is a big strength in this automobile, it averages at about 50-55 miles per gallon and the handling is very sharp considering it lack's power steering and ASM (Active Stability Managment). body styling is a little sore, more effort could have been used there, but the car was built for Economy, not look's. An all around efficient automobile

Weakness:

Very rough ride due to very short wheel base and "HARD TO FIND" 12" tires. Minimal insulation makes it hard to hold a conversation at any range, but good if you like listening to your engine

This car was originaly owned by my step-father but parked it in the woods when he baught an Eclipse GSX turbo, it sat for about a year and a half when he gave it to me and it started right up on one turn. Both rear wheel's were frozen due to rust, but the only work i did on the car was new wheel assembly on all corners, (including rotors and drums) valve cover gasket and an oil change and I couldent be more suprised with the all around performance of subarus "UNIQUE" three cylinder design.

Durability, fuel economy, ease of repair

Weakness:

expensive parts, distributor leaked oil but found new seal at a bearing and seal outlet, Subaru wanted to sell me new distributor for $500.00. Low cruising speed.

Purchased the car new. Best car I've had. I have put 110,000 miles on it and still get 33-36 miles per gallon on the highway.

Strength:

Willing engine that will last with consistent oil changes at a minimum of 4000 miles or less with no over revving and lugging in lower gears. Quality on mine seems quite good with panels fitting and alighning where two things come together. Now on second set of front disc pads and second set of rear brake shoes. Rear was replaced at 72000+ miles. Not bad.

Weakness:

Choppy ride due to short wheelbase and taunt springing/shocks. You just can't get everything for a bottom buck price! Manifold gasket design needs to be improved. Parts thru dealers are not cheap, so one must use internet and other sources.

Bought it because economy was paramount with a lot of city driving. It has been reliable and fun to drive. I am usually the only one in the vehicle as other adults find it confining, but yet they will make comments on its interior roominess.
