The car is the epitome of a pocket rocket, amazing power for a four cylinder. The new design for the H4 is great adding the 10 horses to the already good powered 4 banger. there is no doubt that i would rather have the 30 more ft-lbs then 30 more horses like the GT-S, or the GS-R, SiR, or the P-Lude, 165 pony's and 166 ft-lbs is the way to go, nevermind the 195 horse and the 135 ft-lbs. Besides you can actually pull 350 horse and 320 torque out of this engine with some mods. lets see anyone do that with any other 4 banger listed above, (besides the lotus). the handeling is the best that i have ever experienced in a car in this price range, and for that matter probably the best i have ever encountered, save my M5 experience, outhandles anything else in it's category with it's eyes closed. great short gear ratios to get you moving quickly, and exploit the engines real power unlike the Preludes, and the GT-S extremely long gears which force you into reving the engine into the 5000's or higer when you have to pass on the highway, all other 4 banger owners can have fun dropping into thrid gear on the highway to pass comfortably, i'll stay in 5th and slightly step on the throttle and pass and have more fun doing it. The interior seating is great, good support (front seat of course)
Weakness:
NO TRUNK LIGHT. The speedometer gauge only reads 190 km/h 120, mp/h (roughly) I have gone past that before no problem. The cup holders suck. Tires could be alot better, not providing the best grip but getting by. This is the funnest car i have ever driven you will never get bored of it's power because it always seems to amaze you more and more, does not feel like a fast car until you race something that you think is a fast car, and beat it. I am now willing to say that I will race any other stock 4 cyclinder on the road, and stand a chance. Anyone with 20,000.00 dollars to spend on a car should buy this one whether your 40 with 3 kids and you get the 4 door or your 20, and in university this car is for everyone who loves driving, no matter the age group. If you love to drive and you can drive standard transmissions well go test drive this car you'll love it the only stipulation is that you love driving. The more you give this 4 banger, the more she wants. This car feels like you pay 19,000.00$ for the actual car and 1000.00$ for the rest of the interior etc. Similar Products Used: Integra SE, GS-R, Honada Prelude,Si-R, Toyota Celica, GT, GT-S, Hyundai Tiburon SE, by far the most powerful engine out of all of these cars, does not drive like a japenese car more like a european car, you can oly understand what i mean after you drive one. If you have never driven one go to your local dealer and drive one, you won't be dissapointed believe me |

My God, I never knew that a four-banger could pull so hard. The all wheel drive is so impressive, that I can truely say I will never own anything else again! Massive helpings of Style mate flawlessly with its nimble Grace
Weakness:
Not much can be said negatively about this car, but in all fairness, a trunk light really isn't too much to ask! Oh yeah, availability is extremely poor. In the immediate Bay Area there are only four dealerships. I had a helluva time trying to buy the one I wanted, fortunately everything worked out, and believe me it was worth the wait! If you can't tell by now, hell yeah I recommend it! This thing is just amazing, if you thought you needed a V-8 to have fun you are sorely mistaken. Hey you don't have to take my word for it, try one on! Similar Products Used: Honestly, I've never driven an all-wheel drive coupe before, so sorry, no comparison. However, I have driven many four-bangers including, 2000 Celica GT-S (very impressive in it's own right),Integra GSR, Prelude Type-HS (exceptional handling for an FF)and the Honda coupe SI. All of these cars shine, but quite frankly pale in comparison to the over all torque and traction of the all-wheel drive horizontally-opposed 2.5 litre Impreza. |

Amazing low end torque for a 4 cylinder. Great traction in the wet. Precise handeling. Good acceleration up to 90. Amazing brakes. Standard 4 wheel ABS. Best sports car in the $20-22k range!
Weakness:
Understeer, but this can be corrected with a roll bar change. Really would be much nicer with a turbo. Stock tires scream at the slightest hard turn. Cant do burnouts. This is a amazing car for the money. Only have seen a few in my area. The AWD makes handeling in the wet amazing. Could use better stock tires, but thats easily changed. Very aggressive styling. HUGE fog lights. Great premium audio system. Transmission should be beefed up, dosent like to be power shifted. The US aftermarket is really starting to come out, and there are a few turbo kits on the market for this amazing car which will make it faster in every way than all the low end sports cars on the market. If your looking for a fairly fast, amazingly good handeling, traction car look no further! Expect to pay roughly $20,000 out the door. Strength:
-xlnt, intuitive steering
Weakness:
-rear seat can't fold down for bigger items There isn't another AWD sports sedan for $20k. A similarly loaded Audi a4 or passat would cost at least $6k more. Those cars are more refined (and bigger) but they don't look nearly as mean or sporty. Overall, the RS is pretty good. I hope some Dunlop sp8000 tires will help it grip better. Strength:
This is an excellent mountain car. It is great on twisty, slushy mountain roads. The torque gets you out of corners in style.
Weakness:
It could use more power (turbo please) and more styling refinement (fewer non-functional scoops and ports, smaller wing). The car also needs some suspension tightening (too much body roll) Paid about $21K New, Nice package -sunroof, 16" alloys, rally-blue paint. I'd recommend it to anyone shopping for a ski buggy. If I were shopping today, I'd be looking at the Passat 4-motion or an Audi A4/S4 (but those are not fair cost-based comparisions). Similar Products Used: 1987 300ZX, 1991 300ZX, 1994 MX3-GS. The 2.5 RS is a much better car for foul weather driving and unimproved roads. |

Strength:
This car has great handling in the dry, wet, or even snow thanks to the four wheel drive. Handling is also a step above the competition due to the 16" wheels and the ability to fly around a corner while keeping the car very level thanks to the low center of gravity of the boxer engine.
Weakness:
The stock stereo is a Clarion and is ok, but I replaced it because I am an audiophile. However, the biggest improvement you could make to the stereo would be to replace the rear speakers if they are not part of the premium speaker package that Subaru offers. Other than that, the interior is excellent. I did change the intake, exhaust and added a lightweight pulley to my car to give it about an extra 25hp. You do not need to do this, but it only cost me about $575 and was well worth every penny. The car acts and sounds exactly like a race car now, which is what I was shooting for. There is nothing really wrong with this car as far as I can see. I was able to talk the dealer down to $17,800 a little over a year ago and I have not looked back since. If you are looking for a performance car that gives you the most bang for the buck, then go buy one today because you will not find a better value anywhere. This car is also very unique. Similar Products Used: This car is comparable to a Toyota Celica GT-S or VW GTI VR6 in terms of driving excitement. However, the Subaru blows anything with two wheel drive out of the water when it comes to handling and takeoff acceleration. |

Strength:
Great torque and HP; the power-assisted rack and pinion steering is wonderful. Great for zipping around the city, but comfortable enough for long drives. The AWD and 4-wheel ABS makes it ideal for Utah's snowy weather. With a turbo (as it really should be) this car would FLY.
Weakness:
Gas mileage is only 20 MPG. Stock speakers are fairly weak. We Americans can't enjoy the turbo version like Europeans can :-( 16,800 used, with 23k miles. Included leather, A/C, cruise, 10-disc CD, remote keyless entry w/ alarm. I would definately recommend this Subie; those who have driven a Subaru before know you only get quality :-) Similar Products Used: None |

Strength:
Engine is nice and provides a lot of low-end torque. The steering provides good feel & the overall look of the car is great. Definitely worth the money especially if you can get something like a WRX or 22B STi.
Weakness:
Interior space is cramped especially at the back. The stock stereo system is not adequate $27,300 for everything. I would definitely recommend this car especially the 2.5RS if you live in North America or the Impreza Turbo in Europe. Similar Products Used: Before buying the car I was also considering a VW Golf GTi VR6 and a Honda Civic SiR but I think the Impreza provides better value & performance especially when the weather isn't so pleasant. |

The little 4 banger is quite surprising. You would never expect to get jumps like you do with this thing. Me I love the suspension package it comes with it rides really smooth.
Weakness:
the stock tires, short gears, All in all it is a very nice compact way to get around. The price is fairly low for a small sports car. All wheel drive kicks ass. Good for snow or rain ect.... Similar Products Used: well the only other car i have had is a camaro so... |

2.5 RS coupe
Strength:
*Excellent low end power
Weakness:
*stock tires suck This car has more bottom end acceleration than all of the cars listed above. I t is 2 seconds faster 0-60 than the cirus and is just about even with it's sister car the dodge status RT. How ever a neon RT or the ACR is half a second faster than the impreza only becase it ways about 700Lb less and is pushing 150 HP, but it does not have the amount of traction that this car does in the snow which is the main reason that I bought the car. It is also far more reliable and you can't buy a cheaper AWD. Similar Products Used: Neon, Lebaron, cirus with the 2.5L V-6, 2001 Status RT coupe with a 3.0L V-6 |
