Great engine, large trunk, heated seats are great, bought this one with all options have had no trouble what so ever, purchased extended warrenty because of it being a first year out, if it continues to preform like it is now it was a waste of money.
Weakness:
Pedals to close, too small of gas tank, stock tires are weak. I have no problelms what so ever, then with the .09 financing I got you could not pass it up. Would highly recomend this car to anyone, last trip I took I got 26 miles per gallon. Similar Products Used: Tried out the Pontiac Grand Prix GT, the Pontiac had more squeaks and rattles I drove it back too the lot and went back to get the Saturn. Hands down the Saturn was a better car. |

Strength:
Solid ride and feel, great brakes, great sized trunk, fun to drive, good price for what you get, nice pickup for 4 cylinder and pretty quiet.
Weakness:
Couple of minor fit/finish nigglies - fixed promptly by dealer. Anticipate fuel economy will improve, only have 1,800 miles on it now - mpg has ranged from 24-29. I'm not a 'car connoisure' (or speller), but love this car - nicest I've ever owned by far! Car feels solid as a rock on the road, nice and quiet, enjoy the firm suspension/ride, love the upgraded stereo and interior room. The foot pedals aren't a problem, and love the 5 speed tranny and clutch feel! The power is all I need - mpg is more important to me than speed. Hope to put on at least around 248,200 more miles! Love this car, can hardly believe its made by an American company - never owned an American car before. Saturn reputation for durability/reliability/service was big motivator to buy. Awesome Leather seats
Weakness:
Fit and finish NOT up to European standards I travel for a living from Illinois to the West Coast in a car throughout most of the year. This means in the extreme heat of summer and the bone chilling below zero winters in Minnesota as well. Outfitted with all the extra goodies ( heated leather seats, heated outside mirrors and traction control) this car will go anywhere and keep you comfortable while doing it. I have had more expensive and exotic cars and this car has by far the best and most supportive seats for long distance trips there are. Even better than my legendary Volvo 850GLT which I sold to get one of these. Sure it does not have the fit and finish of a fine European sedan, but what it does have is well worth it. I haven't put a nickel into this car with 30,000 miles on it except for oil and filter changes. By far this has been the least expensive car to own and maintain I have had. My wife loved it too so got a LS-1 and she too loves her's. I suppose we are very fortunate that we have a GREAT dealership that treats you like royalty. I hope the fault free nature of this car continues for me as now I am already spoiled. Similar Products Used: Toyota Avalon |

Lots of room, smooth ride. Car was delivered to our home,100 miles from dealership. Custom building the car.
Weakness:
Having to drive 100 miles to the nearest Authorized service center for repairs AND general service such as oil changes. Not the best gas mileage. Have had the car for just over a year and have the car in for repairs numerous times: Similar Products Used: None |

Its the most luxuriest car I've ever had. The automatic door locking is great (you can disable it if you want). The big trunk seems to be endless. The nice design. The quality is high. The fit is good. The plastic door panels really do take a beating without showing any dents. I have an LS1 manual 5 speed is the power is just enough to do what you gotta do, but a little more would be nice. The gas tank is more than I had before and it gives you a crusing range of about 350 miles (which btw is typical of all sedans).
Weakness:
I was not 100% impressed with the buygin experience. I was expecting more. I give it a high rating because it gives you so much more added value for the $ than the others at the same price. The others wanted more money for the same thing (or didn't even have it). I compared it Camary, Mazada 626, and Honda...they all fell short. Anemic four cylinder engine; automatic transmission that most of the time is hunting for the right gear; wobbly steering at highway speeds; uncomfortable rear seat; creaks, creaks and more creaks! DO NOT BUY THIS CAR! It was trouble from the word go, and the Saturn service people were lousy to fix it. A new bushing was designed for the car because the steering tolerances were supposedly suitable for European roads. At highway speeds, the steering wheel would literally wobble two inches. Three trips to the dealer finally alleviated most of the problem, along with a new set of tires (thankfully, not Firestones). The left front strut separated from its housing, making for some dicey steering. Had I not had the steering problem, this wouldn't have been discovered. The car creaks constantly. It's not worth trying to quiet this problem because it's everywhere. I've owned the cars mentioned above. This was by far the worst new car I've ever purchased. I just got rid of it for a Hyundai Sonata. I should have bought that first. It's a fine car with a warranty to back it up. It's as good as the Accord and Camry in most every comparison. If you're considering the L series Saturn, do yourself a favor--look at something else. These cars don't hold their value either as I've just experienced. Great Looks, Base feature package
Weakness:
Poor gas mileage, gas tank too small, TCC shudder from automatic transmission. Remote keyless entry is finiky at best. This is my second L series and my third Saturn. I've gotta say, I'll never buy another Saturn product again. The company was really great in the early 90s but they've taken a significant downturn since then. Tires!!! My baby loves to ride in the L300 car...more rattles than he knows what to do with! The Firstone Affinity tires just plain suck...if your gonna buy this car make sure you get them switched before you buy! Driving above sixty is like being stuck in a wind tunnel. The cloth interior literally could not get any worse! The build quality on this vehicle is a joke...go buy a honda/VW...pay a little more...it's worth the headache youll be spared!!!!! Remote Keys broke twice - the first was under warranty the second time would have cost over $100. Based on the pattern of crapping out I gave up on the remote keys. I've had the car for around 2.5 years and 55,0000 miles. I have a 57 mile commute to work almost entirely on highways. The New England weather and potholes are starting to take a toll on the exhaust system but other than that the car has held up pretty well. I love the acceleration and maneuverability. Strength:
Very smooth 4-cyl engine.
Weakness:
Gas mileage a bit low I bought this car because my 1997 SATURN SC-2 was too small. The LS-100 has excellent room, and a comfortable ride. So far I have not found any defects, and I am quite pleased with the engine/tranny combination. I find I have plenty of passing power at 60 MPH.
