Nissan Altima
Strength:
Nice interior. Fake wood grain looks good. There is a big back seat. It steers like a champ.
Weakness:
The plastic parts that pull out throughout the inside, especially the one by the gas pedal. Cup holder kind of sucks. No good coin tray. I really like this car. I was surprised that it has some get up and go. I give my friend crap because his 1999 Chrysler Sebring lxi only has 18 more h.p. and its a v-6. For what i paid, i'm really pleased. Altima SL
The car is a stunning and beautiful car from the exterior. The curves and fine lines give it a remarkable look. Big bulster foil lamped taillights is the icon of this machine. The SL comes standard with a bose system, leather interior, steering radio controls and a lot lot more..i ordered mine fully loaded with moonroof/foglights/sidesills also.. the 4 cylider putting out 175 hp isnt much for this big car, the 0-40 accelleration time is quite sluggish..not much on the move go kinda car, but when the gas is hit after 60-70 then her pep begins to come back, my suggestion for highway racing type, is to use the shifter, ur 2nd gear can ref up to 60mph as ur 3rd gear can go up to 90mph as ur 4th gear is governed at 120mph at 4200rpms ((redline is 7000)) more horespower is definitly needed in this car, great on gas though...The bose radio is great, although a defect in my right front speaker made it blown bu utha than tha the radio is phenomnial..The cheap interior..Plastic plastic plastic everywhere! Wherever u look, its cheap nissan plastic. My cupholder lid already broke due to a cheap latch, and platics everywhere just pop right off...ITs terrible!! It looks likethe outside was creeated by BMW and lexus as the inside was created by fisher price. I seen Hyndai accents with more sturdy materials than in this car, its a disgrace. MY suggestion to buyers. if u want the SL model go for it, itsa great car, jus dont be ruf on the interior..if ur gonna bethe 6 cyliner, ur an idiot!! a big idiot! buy it base for $22,000 fine, buy it fully loaded for $27,000 then ur stupid...u mind as well jus buy a maxima...definitly a lot nicer n better than an altima |

Great performance of a 4 cylinder...actually...very shocking power of a 4..Nice styling..side sills make the car look great..ride is smooth..smoother than i thought....tight but light steering..think about that one...u move the wheel, its easy to move bu a millimeter to the right, the cars gonna go...no play in the wheel but feels light to move it Bose stereo of course, roominess yada yada yada
Weakness:
Not much of a performer feel to it..Not much road feed back..more smoother, more ofa highway cruiser at 70mph than a high speed thrill ofa 110mph..maybe its me..Dashboard is so f***ng brighttttt at night!!!!!!!! Prepare to be blinded ! Use the dimmer...my philosophy is the brighter the better....but wow....this is like a flash light on ur face....but looks great.. This is part 2 of my review of the 02 Altima SL: I have now been driving the car for sometime now...Behind the wheel of it..your surroundings make u feel like ur in a beautiful higher class car rather than a Nissan (which isnt bad but crap compared to a Lexus or BMW) Unexpected power coming out of a 4 cylinder..i compare this 2.5 175hp engiene to my previous car (Olds alero) of GM's V6 3.4 170hp..and my alero was slightly quicker, but shifting was a bit notchy..this 4 cylinder delivers the power smoothly and saving alot more gas. Its amazing how foreign cars pack v6 power of american cars in their small 4 cylinders..You might think, this car is big andtrust me...wait till u start driving it, u kno its big..lol..it may be big, and the 4 cylinder u may think is underpowered for the size...but trust me..this lil baby puts out a good amount of power..if ur looking for speed and agility go for the v6..u want a gas saver, a car with great power as is..and a much more luxury ride on 16's rather than low profiled 17s..go the SL..buy the SL!!!!! put up the money, trust me its worth it..the leather is great....seats arent very supportive around cornering, i find myself slipping away..but i armor all the seats....lol could be why...a great car for the money though..a beautiful car definitly worth buying |

Altima 2.5S
Strength:
The low price tag, the comfortable seats, the potent 4 cylinder engine, the exterior and interior styling, the large trunk, and the features.
Weakness:
Some of the interior controls have questionable build quality, and there is also some noticeable highway float and torque steer. This is a really great car for the money. 175 HP, 180 ft-lbs torque is really enough for this car. The V6 would be nice, but I didn't think it was worth the extra money. The convenience package you can get it really nice, and has auto headlights, a trip computer, power drivers seat, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and more. All this plus the stuff you get with the base 2.5S like A/C, cruise, alarm, CD player, etc... and this is a very well-equipped car. The seats are extremely comfortable. I have driven from Michigan to Texas and back already and not once did my body ache. And these are cloth seats, not the fancy leather ones. This is for a 2000 Nissan Crew cab Front-I have the two section drive shaft. There is a rubber peice that goes around my drive shaft and the bottom keeps flipping out causing my truck to make a clinging noise every time I push the gas. Is this a common problem with the 2000 models. How much and what needs to be done for a fix? This rubber gasket is right where the C-CLAMP HOLDS MY DRIVE SHAFT. It seperates my drive shaft and my C-clamp. It is there to keep my drive shaft in a straight line. What do I need to do? |

Performance of a 4 cylinder. Awesome Bose Stereo. Supportive Leather..Tight steering Styling
Weakness:
Fit and finish of interior, doesnt match up due the beauty of the exterior....but hey...its not a $50,000 car...u get a nice exterior....but less on the interior....get the leather and the titanium trim or wood trim....it dresses the car beautifully...other than that,...this cars perfect Ok first things first..I just bought this car a few days ago. I dont even have plates on it, but im giving u my opinion of it from driving it for like 10 miles...I drove the 3.5SE...thats just an unbeliavble car....for the money....its not worth it...cos who wants an Altima SE with no leather moonroof or spoiler...it looks stupid....and wen u get all that u end up close to 25 grand....mind as well buy a maxima...the 2.5 engiene i thought in the begining wuld be sluggish...terrible on merging and so forth...i was far from wrong....nothing like the v6 model of course but saves u a lot on gas mileage and doesnt require premium gas...pushing out 175hp at 6kRPM it does a lot...low end torque of 180 pounds at only 4000RPMs...this car gets u where u wanna go...the leather in this car is great.....firm and supportive...the back seats offer u cadilliac legroom and headroom....rear seats are very comfortable also..The Bose 6cd in dash 8spkr system is a blast....pumping out over 150w of power through 8 BOSE tuned speakers for the Altimas interior gives u strong highs with no distortion at any level....and outside mirror trembling bass that u would only get pushing out of a subwoofer..Dashboard motorcycle inspired gauges reminds me of a racing cockpit..3 different circled gauges of a sporty amber on black detail..THe moonroof...wow....this is a must in an altima....u wont appreciate it until u see it....This huge limo sized roof almost goes into the backseat..a push of a button opens up the world to u and a nice tilt feature jus gives the outside that sporty touch...Wanna look sporty? buy the spoiler, side sills and mud flaps....give this car a body kit lowered design but not the threatning harsh ride of low profile tires....aerodynamics have shown that cars with spoilers improves handling just from wind a lip on the back of a car..These 205/65/16" Continental Tires make you feel like you riding on clouds....The feel of a dream car you feel like you're soaring and feel the road only wen u want too due to speed sensitive steering..And lets not forget about that Lexus styling.....Easily mistaken for the Lexus Gs series the side of the car which it resembled....big air tight doors keep roadnoise out and altezza euro style taillights give this car an icon from all others.. Nissan Altima 3.5SE
Strength:
Performance, room, exterior styling, handling. Car for money
Weakness:
Gas consumption. Obvious interior cost cutting. Extremely poor quality of mass air flow sensor, knock sensor, catalytic converters that chew themselves up into little pieces and destroy the engine. The crystal blue paint does a great job accentuating the exterior styling, as do the 17" aluminum rims. The handling on this car is good and steering is variable in effort and gives good road feedback, and only during full acceleration does the torque steer make the car a bit "darty" right and left (in the 5-speed version). Interior room is amazing. You can move the front seats all the way back and a 6+ footer will have no issues in the rear seat. The trunk is large and roomy, but the hinges tend to crowd things a bit when closed, and the finish inside is somewhat sharp and can cut your fingers if you're not careful. Gas tank is large and can hold 20 gallons of gas for good range. Interior build quality is decent, but texture of plastics is very somber and cheap. Only soft touch plastics reside on the air bag cover on the passenger side of the dash. Tilt and telescope steering wheel is good for anyone driving from 5'1" to 6'6". The base single cd stereo is excellent with good bass, relatively tight bass, and many presets for radio. Radio reception is average at best. My old Toyota was better. Performance is extremely variable from day one. When cold the car is exhilirating but when warm the car is bog slow, indicating an issue, that has not been resolved after 10 months. Ride is firm and only occasional rear end hopping is somewhat obvious on washboard roads. Similar Products Used: 1995 Toyota Tercel. Most reliable car ever for me. Hopefully afterwards this car will be the same. |

Altima
Strength:
Spacious, good looking and easy to manouver. It allows a good panoramic view of the road at the steering wheel. Interior arrangement of commands is satisfactory.
Weakness:
Rear bumper is placed in such a way that it is impossible to know if you will hit something or not when backing. Heating and Air conditioning are weak. Car stalls and no explanation has been given so far on this, either by Nissan or by dealer. Cup holder is too deep. Interior material is cheap, both cloth and plastic. After a few times at dealer, finally got rid of rattling under front board. I refer to an automatic Altima. Price is equivalent in US$ to Canadian $. Overall a good, responsive and enjoyable car. However, it unexpectedly stalls in parking or when switching gears from parking. Dealer service is costly and usiually does not get to the problems. Similar Products Used: Toyota Corolla. |
