Strength:
Power, power, power. The interior is also well designed, and ver comfortable
Weakness:
The only weakness is the tiny backseat. That and the fact that many of the buttons could use a little more illumination during the night This is my second car, and goin from a 1984 Dodge 600 to my 240 was such a change. The 240 is an amazing vehicle, and beats pretty much everything off the line. For a 4 cylinder 5 speed manual, this car has more power than youd expect...I've taken many beautiful cars off the line, including Mustangs, Jaguars, and Eclipses. My only hope is that when this car gets too old, ill be able to replace it with a newer model. Similar Products Used: none...I wouldnt want to use another car after driving the 240 |

Strength:
The styling of this car is superb and the inner car brings style and class. The car is very reliable and doesn't many repairs. The body is very strong if you keep on protecting it avery year.
Weakness:
the car is fairly slow compared some of it's counterparts. But if you drop a Silvia 2L turbo engine you are getting 256HP rear wheel power. And that will blow the competition away. The car has brought alot of pleasure and no pain. Very few repairs have been done besides regular oil and brake changes. The car handles very well and looks aggresive, too bad the engine doesn't back up the look. But all that can be changed with a bit of MONEY. The car is a keeper and class all the way. |

fast take off's...torque...you gotta love the torque on the 240's...its all about the torque...REAR WHEEL DRIVE...honda's are too boring to drive and tune because you gotta spend too much money making them fast...stick with the nissans...240s are built to race...
Weakness:
it just sucks when it rains...there must be more weight in the back...the 89 has no cupholders, there is no backseat unless your a child, it needs more hp, the 96 needs wider wheels like the 89 model. damn...i love 240's...if your think about it they are miniture skylines...which they are, except no twin turbo...i loved the 89 240 so much i recently just bought a 96 240 and all of my freinds are buying 240's because of the look, feel, and power. i am tuning up my new 240 as of this moment. on my 89 i have installed injen intake, greddy headers, apex dunk, and also 50 shot zex nitrous...its producing about 210 hp now and i can bust high 13 on the 1/4...i can smoke just about anytyhing on the road that isnt twin turbo...i havent put anything on the 96 yet but im planning to make it a all show no go car...probably a skyline bumper would be nice... Power surprizes many people, have been told that it was real snotty from a dead stop, hard to believe it was only a 4- cylinder. Very comfortable for a guy my size, my wife compliments this car nicely, and vice versa! Handles too darn good! Firestone Firehawks ss-10''s came on this car, good grip and wear like iron!
Weakness:
Back seat, but who cares, nobodies sitting there when I am driving anyhow! Yes, it can be tricky in snow, use good snow tires, add a little weight back there, and keep it under 90MPH when it snows, and you''ll have no problems! Can get squirrely in the rain, needs more downforce that''s all, plus good drainage tires help! Front end has a tendency to "push" or understeer when taking high speed corners over 85MPH, needs more downforce on front end then. My daughter bought this car before she went into the Air Force, 2 years ago. She asked me to "run it now and then", then she got stationed in Germany. So I bought the car from her. Love my daughter, but in this case, her loss was my gain. I''m 51 years old, weigh too much for this car, but darn, THIS CAR ROCKS!!! I plan on keeping this car for a long time! Similar Products Used: The last car I had this much fun with was my 1973 VW Super Beetle. 4-cylinder, great handling, see a connection here? |

Good acceleration, Excelent handeling, Great control at highway speeds, Very reliable, Nice cockpit setup, Very nice styling, She looks sleek and fast!
Weakness:
Could use a bit more power, The interior controls need to have some type of illumination! The auto seatbelts are a pain! I''ve used this car for two years now. In the beginning I did not think much of it. I felt it was too small, did not have much power, and felt like a toy. I guess because I never drove it very hard I did not know what it could do. But one day driving it I had to pull out onto a busy highway and it really took off! I''ve grown to love the car! She is a beauty! My girlfriend gave it to me and we bought a G35. We love the G car, But I would not let her trade in the 240! Now that I have been using the car I did some total detailing on it. I repainted the nose and spoiler, steam cleaned the interior, washed the motor compartment, and while painting the nose I took off the license plate, plastered over the holes and placed the license plate all the way on the bottom of the nose and bent the bottom of the license about 45'' to still allow good airflow and probably increase the cooling efficiency by using the license plate to deflect the air up into the center of the radiator. And at the same time, by moving the license plate I''m sure I''ve decreases the drag coefficiency. I would have gotten rid of the the plate all together but in NY you must have a front plate! A while back a car pulled up allong side of me and I saw it out of the corner of my eye and I thought "Nice Car"! Then I when pulling past me I saw it was the same 240 as mine! POWER AFTER THE MODICATIONS, THE CAR PEES OUT FROM STOP, AND ITS AN AUTOMATIC. GO FIGURE. WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS FROM 0-60 IT THROWS YOU IN YOUR SEAT (SLIGHT G-FORCE THERE). CORNERING IS GREAT. BACK IN 98 I BOUGHT A 98 JETTA AND THAT JETTA NEVER KEPT UP TO MY 240, I ACTUALLY BLE THE JETTA TRANSMISSION TWICE. BUT THE 240 IS STILL ORIGINAL ENGINE AND TRANNIE WITH 97K MILE ON IT.
Weakness:
REAR SEATIN IS TOO SMALL, BUT MY 5 YEAR OLD SON LOVES IT BACK THERE. HE LOVES TO HEAR THE GROAN OF THE CAR. SO THERE YOU HAVE IT, SOMEONE LIKES IT BACK THERE THIS IS MY TOY, IT HAS AN INJEN INTAKE AND A THREE INCH EXHAUST FROM CAT TO MUFFLER. I ATTACHED A FREE FLOW MUFFLER, AND I CREAMED SOME HONDAS AND MAZDA 626. I JUST ADDED AN ERENBUNI GROUND EFFECTS AND THIS CAR LOOKS MEAN. Similar Products Used: I HAD A 86 MAZDA 626, 83 MAXIMA, 98 JETTA, 2000 BLAZER, 88 CRESSIDA, WHILST I HAD THE 240SX. MY 240 OUTLASTED ALL THE MENTIONED CARS. |

Strength:
Steering is second to none. Power is enough to keep up. Brakes are excellent. Reliability remains to be seen, but my old one is still here with minor problems only. Handling is the best factor in this car. Chassis is good but is much better with strut braces. Ergonomics are ABC easy. Seats are comfortable but needs side bolsters to hold you when you''re pulling G''s. And this is probably one of the best looking cars you''ll see even if it''s not modified with bodykits. And also love the gas mileage.
Weakness:
Power needs to be increased. Space seems smaller than my old one. Even though you sit higher, more knee room could really help. Trunk space is decent. Driving in the rain needs precise control of the gas pedal or you''re lose control. Still rides rough but smoother than the old ones. my previous car was a 89 coupe. I like it so much that I got a 95 version. Big difference between the both. The newer was not just better but it drives like a completely different car. This is a perfect daily car. Similar Products Used: Celica has more space but steering is not as sharp and not as fast. No Hondas can keep up in the corners(of course some are faster in the straightaways). Old 240sx, maybe lighter but not as comfortabl |
