MINI Cooper Midsize | Compact

MINI Cooper Midsize | Compact

DESCRIPTION

MINI Coopers are among the most recognizable cars on the road, beloved for both their cutesy looks and zippy driving dynamics. The Cooper’s small size means it’s already incredibly maneuverable -- and that’s before you consider that it has handling dynamics designed by parent company BMW’s engineers.

The base mode is equipped with a standard 1.6-liter, I4, 118-horsepower engine that achieves 28-mpg in the city and 37-mpg on the highway. The John Cooper Works is equipped with a standard 1.6-liter, I4, 208-horsepower, turbo engine that achieves 26-mpg in the city and 34-mpg on the highway.

Strength:

Good looks fun to drive very sturdy

Weakness:

Had a little problem with the transmission at purchase but after a couple days it was fixed and we found out it was a voltage problem.

This is the greatest car ever made. It gets a lot of attention on the road.

Looks,handling,gas mileage

Weakness:

Cup holder is nearly impossible to use,but it's a minor thing. My dealer is 100 miles away.

I have owned everything from Camaros to VW Beetles, and the MINI is the best yet. It handles great,is fun to drive, plus it's great looking. It gets great gas mileage, and a lot of attention. It ranks high for safety (it's as safe as a car that small can be).

Strength:

Exellent handling, braking, fun, sound system, superb ergonomics.

Weakness:

Super wimpy at low revs.

Got a red Mini Cooper, with white roof, sports package (16" wheels, skid control, better seats, fog lamps)and H&K Sound system. I got it as a commuter, neededing good brakes, handling, reliability, economy, and a little fun. It has delivered in spades. I liked the order tracking, kept me from getting mssesd up when they ordered the wrong car. So far I love it, it has fullfilled its role awsomely. It hadles real good, and the sound system is great. Acceleration is good for a little 4banger, but it needs to be reved, more so than japanese cars. I tested the sports suspension, but it is way too stiff for the real world, the standard one is good enoguh for tight handling in the streets, and it absorbs irregulaities very well.

Strength:

I love the Xenon headlights that adjust for optimum night vision. The gas mileage is great too, much better than other compact cars I've had.

Weakness:

I just got a recall notice on a part that may cause the chassis to fall onto the tires and cause a loss of control if not replaced or repaired. Also, I had a problem with a transmission malfunction light coming on and had to take back for service 3 separate occasions due to the dealership not able to determine the cause, it never interfered with my driving though.

I love the look of this car. It is fun to drive and be seen in. Mine is fully loaded with the Sport and Premium packages and also has the Nav system and steptronic transmission. This car came with so many options that you normally only find on much higher priced vehicles. It is everything I wanted and it was affordable as well.

I had a VW New Beetle prior to my MINI and I would never go back to VW, it had too many electrical problems and terrible gas mileage.

Strength:

Small but got balls, after hopping it up with headers and borla exhaust baby she goes, and other things as well, list goes on. Great at handling turns, gas mileage, parking space, and creating smiles on peoples faces.

Weakness:

Problems with the coolant container leaking, but changed it with billet aluminum coolant container from forge motorsports, since then no problems.

Actually I heard about it through one of my friends that it was coming to the states so I pursuaded my other half to come and test drive it with me, next thing I know we're special ordering it in March of 2002 and got it on Sept.2, 2002. Wow! I've been playing with it since.

Strength:

Handling, Braking, Cornering, Gas Mileage,Sound System and cant forget the original look of the clasic Austin Minis

Weakness:

The majority of the interior is plastic. Thats the only thing i can think of...

Well, i must say, once again another amazing creation from BMW. This may sound a little obscure but the only way to compare the handling of this car is to ask the question "Have you ever driven a 911 carrera?" Thats how i believe it feels. The car drives like a dream, and for the money the Cooper S is the way to go. The gas mileage is astonishing, and overall feel of the car is un remarkable. Do yourself a favor, dont hesitate if your thinking about buying one, do it, i promise you, it wont let you down...
